Re: [ANN] Crypto Marketplace ~ Escrow Service ~ OTC ~ Discord Marketplace ~
by

I was skeptical at first and then I look a more in-depth view at the thread, and the discord information - and it does seem like you've established yourself quite well in the crypto scene.

I personally like the use of using discord channels/servers to go through this stuff. It's a great job to keep all your customers in a single spot, makes everything seem way more legit. You just need to make sure that no one can impersonate you, make a couple of announcements and pin messages for that I guess.

Thanks, many people are definitely quick to judge and I don't blame them in this space. Those who do research or just look a little bit deeper can find out pretty quickly if someone is legitimate or not. Currently, the only way for someone to "impersonate" me would be through DM'ing other users on discord (but discord bots do this all the time and most people usually check for the real person anyway). All escrows are done using the server-side chat room, therefore it's basically impossible to be impersonated when a trade is created since only I have access to those rooms.

I have discord nitro, an animated gif (that can be easily downloaded) and a unique discord tag that helps prevent impersonation. The best method of contact would always be through going to the real server and clicking on my name and DMing me there. I am happy to say that I have not been told by anyone that they have been scammed by impersonators (just people that did not use escrow). I have banned one person who had the same name + profile picture that refused to respond when called out, but no scam occurred.

Why are you conducting business over Discord, instead of Bitcointalk?

I don't personally like leaving the site to someone else's platform, because then they have too much authority. People can be silenced, and kicked off of discord servers.

Here, there will always be (mostly) fair, and unbiased users  who can verify things through quotes.
I guess I just don't understand why there is a need for off site escrow.

loan 0.02 btc

Collatera : 450679.96150000 mojo coin https://www.livecoin.net/en/trading/MOJO_BTC

repay date : 03/10/2019

repay amount : 0.023 btc

With only a few hours left until the 3rd, do you even still need this loan? Paying .003 BTC in interest, plus transaction fees for funds you will only hold for a few hours makes little sense to me unless you are gambling with the funds.

If you no longer need this listing, I suggest removing it, to avoid confusion.

As has been stated above, your collateral has incredibly low volume, and is not enough to cover your request.
I think you are unlikely to receive funding, as is.

Good luck.

This is likely a collateral scammer. Don't send anything to this newbie without escrow. Better yet, don't deal with this user at all. There are other more reputable lenders to choose from.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. If I'm new, that doesn't mean that I'm a scammer, also I wanted to post 'Reserved.' post but seems like you ruined it so I will reserve this one. Everyone deserves a chance. I will wait for someone to take a loan from me and to prove you wrong. It's alright to take care of the community members, but it's not OK to discriminate new ones. Cheers.

Why should people choose your service over, say, Zazarb's service?

If both of you provide an equal service, and same terms, then why should a user not go with the well established, trustworthy service.

I always enjoy seeing startups, and truly do want people to succeed. But you've got to actually solve an issue. If you are just copying someone else, you aren't bringing anything useful to the table.

Are you going to accept more exotic kinds of collateral?
Are your rates cheaper?
Are your limits higher?
Etc...

Find a niche, and try to solve a problem that exists, instead of trying to be a solution that no one needs. Smiley

Re: Crypto-Bridge Just sprung KYC on everyone today - No notice given
by
shaw1
on 02/10/2019, 20:05:40 UTC
The exchange will not notice it unless the person do KYC itself admit it to them. Remember that the change don't have any legal documentation coming from so there's no way for them to determine if you are the original owner or not. Even if they try to detect your IP. There is always a VPN to cover that.
They might. I'm not familiar with the sign up process for Crypto-Bridge, but many exchanges that do not require KYC (not that there are many left), still require a name, email address, country, and sometimes an address. If you have signed up as Robert Paulson with robert.paulson@gmail.com with a US address, and then complete KYC with documents belonging to Monty Python at a UK address, it's going to raise some red flags. Very likely your account will at least be suspended pending further investigation.

but wouldn't there be potential sort of criminal offenses for this? Faking of documents or something?
Absolutely. This is money laundering 101, to withdraw under someone else's name. There could very well be criminal consequences.
As I recall, Crypto-Bridge doesn't require more than just a username/password setup.

However, if one's username is "shaw1", and one puts down a document claiming to be John smith, that would still raise the same issue as if they did ask for your name.

But I absolutely concur with your underlying point. Fraud to combat fraud isn't a good idea. And as soon as you get caught sending in the wrong docs, then they will have the "moral" high ground to seize your assets. All in the name of combating terrorism.

Re: Bitdeer - Experiences?

I was doing a bit of research on Bitdeer and figured out that they open up new contracts at Q4 every year. A friend of mine is actually in charge of marketing Bitdeer in all English speaking territories and it is indeed a great way for people to get into mining.

One of the few cloud mining sites that are actually from one of the largest manufacturers of mining rigs. I'm from India. It's hard if not impossible to get a miner in here. Bitdeer is the next best thing for me IMO.

Keep an eye out like I said, they'd be restocking their contracts pretty soon.

Edit -
I am planning to purchase a few small contracts myself.

If one is going to invest in "cloud" mining, why wouldn't you go through Hashnest?
No contract length, and you get to buy it buy the TH/s, and can sell your contract, later.

At least then, you'll have a pretty good idea that there truly is mining equipment backing your contract up.

Bitdeer looks too good to be true, as a generality.
And most bitcoin users know exactly what "too good to be true" means.

If you would, how does this project compare to either something like stackexchange, or something like Quora?

I notice that your platform touts itself as decentralized, on the homepage.
Is that just a slogan, or is the platform truly decentralized, like a smart contract?

Because as social media has shown us, just because you might legally be allowed to talk about some things, the platform may not permit it.

What language is your site built in?

If you are using node, it won't be all that hard to write a layer on top of web3, and use Infura to broadcast it.

You'll need some ETH for the forwarding fees to move your tokens around, but apart from that, it is fairly straightforward.

If you are using PHP, it might be considerably more difficult to implement.

If you set it up right, you could add new deposit tokens just by adding their name, and contract address to a database.

Re: 📊[ANN] ContractMarketCap - All of derivative markets (futures ⚡ swap ⚡ options)

Bakkt only? No! 10 exchanges has been regulated and get access to trade full-regulated BTC-based derivatives (futures, but day ahead swap at LedgerX, forwards at TeraExchange).

Kraken Futures (ex. CryptoFacilities) represent other products - ETH, LTC, XRP and BCH futures contracts.

Most of all exchange regulated under US law, two licensed at UK (CryptoFacilities and LDX - London Derivative Exchange) and one at UAE (Dubai-based BTSE exchange).

24h Total volume: ~190M USD, Open interes: ~110M USD.

Data availability is a pain questions at now - only CryptoFacilities and BTSE have a public API, LedgerX has limited data reports (but BTSE dont published open interes metrics). Now we are discussed with other exchanges to access it's data API.

This is actually a really cool service!

If I may ask, do you guys have a plan to combat potential fraud in these stats?
Not all exchanges are on the up and up, and once leverage gets involved, it would be easy for exchanges to report huge (and fake) volume.

I look forward to you guys getting a publicly accessible API set up.

I would highly recommend caution to those thinking about this site.

You are handing over your API keys to an unknown third party.
This means that they can steal from you.

You are entrusting not just the amount you choose to "follow" another trader with, but any and all balances on that exchange.

You are NOT safe just because "allow withdrawals" is off for the API.

By trading a low volume altcoin, they can zero your account just as easily.

They could sell you GarbageCoin for an incredibly high price. They get your good altcoins, and BTC, and you get some worthless token.

Not saying they ARE doing this. But they absolutely could.
Make sure you only invest what you are prepared to lose.

Imho it looks not even close to legit...

Market a custom skinned bitcoin Qt wallet as unique is a red flag for me. Beside that the ANN doesn't look like a professional designer would have done it.

Hope that i am wrong and you don't get scammed...

Honestly, the only people here who would get scammed are likely little more than scammers, themselves.

We don't need more coin clones designed to be pumped and dumped.
We need coins that have actual purpose, and fulfill a need.

It gets to the point that I don't even have sympathy with most people trying to make a coin.
They're trying a get rich quick scheme, and it'll hurt people.

Interested to know if anyone here uses metamask to interact with dapps on Ethereum?

I've fiddled with it a goodly bit. Got a few tokens, but mostly used it on Ropsten.

Never heard of any security issues with regards to it, if that is what you are asking about.

It's pretty convenient to use.
No high entry bar to use it. Most Dapps will pull it up automatically when they need it. To verify transactions or sign messages and such.

That's funny you say I think it consists of the boss getting a bunch of money because I wouldn't be taking any money out of the company since I am running a CBD shop that will support me until the game can get off the ground and making money. I dont plan to just take money out of the bank account for myself when receiving an investment. Also if you say you have tested the game then how can you say its vapourware? now would you please just leave since your statements are not adding up. Thank you.

Vapourware:

software or hardware that has been advertised but is not yet available to buy, either because it is only a concept or because it is still being written or designed.

You are advertising a piece of software. (And have been doing so since at least November 12th, 2016.)
The software is still not yet available for any usable commercial purpose, and is currently still being designed and developed.

At the risk of hurting the minimal approach you take towards news, however, maybe you could add a CMC price ticker to your page?

For some of us, that in and of itself is a news source. Smiley

So I've been researching different decentralized lending sites lately.

The one that has caught my eye the most is https://app.compound.finance/

It seems to be a fairly well established setup, but I'm always cautious of trying out new platforms willy nilly.

So if anyone has used compound for investing your Eth based tokens, please speak up!
I'd love to know what you guys think of it, and if you think it is worth investing on.

Basically:

How much do the gas fees eat into your profits?
How is the volatility on the interest rate?
Has anyone heard of any security issues or concerns with them?

Please share your experience. Keeping investments in a smart contract seems much less risky than investing in centralized investment sites.

Holy cow those are some fees!  Shocked

You have a minimum withdrawal amount of 1000 USD?
You realize that's kinda steep, right?

And your withdrawal fees range from 3.9% to 8%?

That's akin to charging a 0.0039 BTC withdrawal fee, if one withdraws the minimum amount.

All this on an exchange with 80K USD in volume?

I think you need to reconsider your business model.

Pretty much. If they'd announce it a bit earlier, heck, I'd even take a 3 day notice rather than no warning at all. If they did put up a notice and if I was a user of the exchange, I would just sigh, withdraw the funds, and probably move on to another exchange. Knowing in my mind that the exchange itself had no choice either but to put up KYC requirements. But then again, chances are that they're simply just very unprofessional, or the more shadier reason- they did it on purpose for their users to actually be forced to submit KYC to have access to their funds.

I'm going with shady on purpose.
That's too bad. I've got some funds there, but not enough for me to sell my identity.
Any warning time, and I would've just withdrawn, and gone about my business.

Guess I'll just have to take a hit on this one. :/

Cubicverse Inc is seeking investors for our gaming company that owns an MMORPG project that is almost ready for initial launch and the company is also the holding company for the Star City District which is a district inside the virtual reality game of Decentraland. I am seeking an investment of $75,000 in exchange for 15% of the company. The investors would receive a dividend paying token made through Polymath. This is a private placement offering and will be done manually. The minimum investment per investor is $5,000 USD paid in Ethereum. Please only serious investors respond. Attached to this post is a link to a Google Document that has more details about our company and project. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me by PM or Telegram @tobeyrowe

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VmjPjqEdA8uUtvKluUqGA6D7s5VI7gOrHlwlsPA5Ks4/edit?usp=drivesdk

Lol.

Still up to your old tricks, Tobey?
I remember you from your days on Btcpop.

You couldn't raise huge money for vapourware then, and you can't now.

75K USD for 15% of your game means you are valuing it at $500,000 USD.
In all honesty, an isometric infinite runner *might* be worth 500.

And that's assuming you coded it from scratch.

But we both know from our last conversation that you couldn't even program. And seemed to think it was beneath you.
Until you become the driving force behind your dreams, and build something yourself, you're going to be stuck, Tobey.

Nobody is going to pay you 10s of thousands of dollars for something that you don't even understand.

First off it's not an infinite runner. Secondly it's not vapourware. We are going to be having an early access release soon. Also do you really think a coder would take up his own time for free to work on a game that's only worth in your words $500? We have run low on funds so he is working on it for free until we raise the money to pay him for his time. Meaning he believes in the project enough to do that. So I dont appreciate you commenting on this post trying to down talk my project. Unless you have something helpful to say then just dont say it at all. Unless I was trying to scam, lie, or something of that nature then there's nothing here for you to comment about that would help potential investors make a decision. So please dont comment stuff like that because as I pointed out in the beginning of this message the game is not an infinite runner meaning you dont even understand what the game is in the first place so how can you go and make statements like that without even knowing what I am trying to offer.

Tobey, you've had me test the game in the past. I remember it quite well.
It was worthless. Might be an enjoyable hobby, but it was built by someone else, and was highly generic.
It was, as I recall, an isometric, RPG. As I recall, it was procedurally generated. (Hence the infinite runner comment.)

Yes. You might have found a coder willing to work for free. But not a good one.
Ask yourself. If you were a great developer, why would you work without pay?

"Unless I was trying to scam, lie, or something of that nature then there's nothing here for you to comment about that would help potential investors make a decision."

Um. Yeah. I have information that would help potential investors make a decision. I've played it. I happen to have had dealings with you when you were looking for angel funding on Btcpop, and it's an awful investment.

You were told how to make your project a success way back then. Learn to program yourself, and build something amazing without looking to sell it right away.
You aren't willing to put the work in. You think a startup consists of a boss getting money from investors, and then paying people to invent something for you.

Until you figure that out, you're never going to be successful.
The best things in life are often the hardest. You've got to be willing to put the work in.

You seem to be a shady knockoff of PrimeXBT, based on your name.
Which, as was my understanding, is a shady knockoff of bitmex.

Why should users trust your service?
And why, even if it is trustworthy, should they choose it over a more reputable one?

What are your fees?
What is your liquidity?
Where are you based?

More transparency, and less trying to make a copycat product would be a good thing, imho.

We have nothing to do with the mentioned broker as we have nothing to do with Amazon Prime. We just share part of the name.

You build trust with time. Log into PrimeBit, try it out with a free DEMO, and give it a try.

We are building the first crypto perpetual contracts MetaTrader 5 platform.

All the information, fees, and T&C are available on primebit.com.

Maker fee: -0.0250%
Taker fee: 0.0750%
More information our contract specification is here: https://primebit.com/contract-specs/

You can check our liquidity in the order book on MetaTrader 5 desktop on symbols with .last extension.

PrimeBit Ltd. is registered in  St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Please, give PrimeBit a try with a free DEMO before making accusations Wink

I made no accusations.
I drew parallels.
Valid ones, at that.

Signing up for a service before you know details about it is ridiculous. You haven't earned my email address, yet.

I asked why users should choose you, over a reputable, established one. Still have no answer to that question.

You cannot deny the similarities between your name, and PrimeXbt.
I still doubt that was completely random.

Your exchange has been created at the end of August.

So why are there "reviews" for your service that begin in January of this year?

Also, they all seem to be written in the same style of broken English.

If I can't trust an exchange to be honest in reviews, I think it is safe to say I can't trust it to be honest with my money.
