Re: Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash Difficulty same?

Two different chains, with two different amounts of miners on each chain, hence two different diffs.
Is it then not more profitable to mine only Bitcoin Cash?

According to http://whattomine.com and various calculators of the sort, BCH is more profitable by 14$/day.
But take the output of such calculators with a huge pinch of salt, since the results are usually far from realistic.

This particular guy managed to post links in this thread, and he also copied someone else's post in another thread saying how there's going to be reward halving for LTC in a couple months and how LTC is supposed to cost at least $8 if BTC is no less than $230. Smiley

Going back to see if the $12.00 payout I had coming is still pending Smiley

According to https://www.justcryptonews.com/294/nicehash-coming-back-online and tweets from people supporting the service (miners for the most part), it looks like Nicehash will be making a come back.
Are you going back or not?  Huh

It looks like they are indeed coming back after all, just saw the tweet about it.
I am curious to see if anyone is going back after all, and why would anyone leave profitable pool mining to go back to a service
that hasn't said a word about any plan of action or anything, all of this time with regards to the supposedly insured user funds.

I've only used the service temporarily to get paid in BTC when it was increasing a lot a few weeks ago but it's always been better to mine using your own software/pool etc.

Personally I would not trust them again and will stick to mining Eth/Monero on Nanopool.
ETN seems looks like a good alternative to Monero (if one needs the cashflow as opposed to holding)

Fortunately, I have never needed to mine with NiceHash, and I don't think I'll start now  Shocked

I would hazard a guess, that older - frequent users of btalk are of the more advanced kind of miners.
740,000 registered users on the service (at least according to their claims) seems a ludicrous amount of people tbh.

Actually, it's much easier to mine now than when I started. Back in 2014 they're weren't many YouTube videos, tutorials on mining or dedicated mining OS's. Pools used to go down more frequently too. NiceHash is just for those that want plug-n-play mining and don't want to take the time to learn.

Agreed,
the rate at which the amount of information is multiplying (at least since 2016 when I started) about mining is massive.

It looks like everyone will get paid fully according to their CMO

So i am guessing everyone will be back there regardless of poll results, angry tweets, etc etc... Smiley

Re: Nanopool now has an Electroneum pool!
by

Anybody had any luck withdraw from nanopool to cryptopia? When I check stats on nano it show quite a lot of miners with cryptopia address so it probably work otherwise why would they bother. How long does it take for ETN to show up on cryptopia? I am asking as I tried withdraw some amount and while it show payment confirmed in nano stats nothing came to my cryptopia address. I am waiting like 2 hours so far nothing.

It works fine, (at least for now) and the payments turn up quite fast on cryptopia.
Make sure you have, the wallet_adress.id_string (provided by cryptopia) in the miner configuration.

On a side note, watch out for those pesky network fees of BTC which are on the rise again and cryptopia wants 0.002btc for each TX.....

is there any mining pool for electroneum?
please post it here if you dont mind!

https://etn.nanopool.org is the most stable of all I have tested (including most of the pools mentioned earlier in this thread),
and its a bit weird that nobody said it, as from what I gather Nanopool seems to be one of the most established pool providers in the space.

Will be looking to nemosminer as well, thanks for the suggestion.
In the meantime, the plot (bad news?) thickens according to the post from earlier https://www.justcryptonews.com/291/breaking-nicehash-has-been-hacked-50mln-missing and Reddit :

According to a reddit user the owner of Nicehash company with a share capital of half a million euros is Bitorious (45%) based in Dornberk, its director is Marko Kobal, and 55% of the company is owned by H-Bit. The owner of H-Bit is Martin Škorjanc. An interesting fact is that Martin Škorjanc is the father of Matjaž Škorjanc, who was arrested by Slovenian police for an online cyber crime with the help of the US FBI in Maribor. According to BBC Matjaz Skorjanc was arrested in 2010 after a two-year investigation into malware that had hijacked about 12.7 million computers around the world.

I all ways thought the owners of nice hash were shady but didn't think they were that bad..

Well, to be honest, the fact that someone has bad history, is ..well just that. Otherwise, the law states, innocent until proven guilty Smiley
Despite shady past history, I actually do not think that this is an inside job after all. Time will tell I guess.

The good news (for those who still want to just click and mine without tinkering and ever optimizing hardware, pools etc etc) is that they are probably coming back online sometime soon. https://www.justcryptonews.com/294/nicehash-coming-back-online

We shall see, how that plays out...

People who believes that the site was hacked then you're out of your mind, this strategy was planned already of nicehash team, as the bitcoin price soar ($14k at coinmarketcap) and of course its a big win win to them everyone will believe if they will tell the world that they were hacked using those huge media/news site, and now its time, they published that were hacked? Com'on, this is not common thing, hashocean moved that way too when price is in the middle of surging high.

Something is fishy for sure...

It is official Nicehash got hacked https://www.justcryptonews.com/291/breaking-nicehash-has-been-hacked-50mln-missing
They have announced it on facebook, twitter, Reddit, etc , so there is no more point arguing if they were hacked or not, and they won't be back online anytime soon (if ever)...

The question is: Anyone has a good alternative to suggest?
My miners are already on alternative single coin pools, but I would prefer the BTC payout.
Thanks
Nicehash was seling your hashrate to the highest bidders and getting bitcoin in return, am I right? Because I have never used nicehash. What about to try Minergate? As I know they aren't so good but it can be considered as an alternative of nicehash.
It's sad they didn't care about security, hope they'll come back.

Indeed that is how it was supposed to work, though I'm not quite certain how they did it internally cause I have never seen any of the miners idle-ing (as in waiting for some order from a buyer).
Minergate looks like an option at the moment, and i will be reading into it, as is the Mining pool hub mentioned earlier,
thanks for the input everyone
