I could see that point about property if coinbase didn't have information about their fork policy in their terms of service and if they hadn't put a huge notice on the front-page weeks before about users moving their coin if they want to access bitcoin cash.  It will be impossible to prove that they didn't operate in good faith.

https://hitbtc.com now open for deposits, dump that thing now before it reaches to the moon first. Kraken is open too.

Its a pitty that i dont own a large bitcoin so i dont have  to dump.

so how to DEPOSIT BCC to kraken? i cant find

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can deposit BHC on kraken yet.  The people who are trading it on kraken are the ones who put their XBT on it before the fork.

There was plenty of time to move coins, even if you had it in the vault with the multiple day waiting period for withdrawal.

Re: Is Donald Trump Good For Bitcoin?
by

In my opinion he is.  He has promised to implement protectionist policies that I think will likely result in a trade war with China.  He will also deregulate Wall Street.  Both of those things would lead to economic uncertainty and bitcoin is a hedge.  The only question is will my bitcoin be worth millions while I sit on a pile of slag caused by WWIII?

Re: bitcoin without china, how would it look?
by

My guess would be that bitcoin would survive, even in China.  The majority of mining would be done in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia as opposed to China.  There would be a dip in demand which would negatively affect price.  However, if China was out of the picture or reduced to a smaller role than debates about the future of bitcoin would no longer depend on who can court the Chinese miners and confidence in bitcoin might go higher, which would affect the price positively.

Maybe I'm not seeing it, but I just don't think this is that cosmic of an event.  Bitcoin price is already recovering.  It's not like we learned something that we didn't already know (that keeping large sums on bitcoin exchanges can be lucrative for traders but is also playing with fire).  The 1% of total bitcoin stolen probably will either be returned to circulation by the hacker or by a combo of the exchange and miners.  And even if they are gone forever that just makes the remaining coin more valuable.

I stopped most of my buying at around $350 per coin.  I still have a weekly automated small buy through the lawnmower app.

Investment.  If the price ever reaches a certain point I'll start spending it, but for the foreseeable future I will be stacking.

But the yen has been going down for the past year and negative rates in Japan haven't worked.  I get gold, but I don't really think "safe haven" when I think yen.  But I guess I'm in the minority in that regard.

So far seems like everybody is piling in the yen (no idea why) and gold.  Bitcoin has gone up in the past 24 hours but that started before the results were in.

It would be nice if I could buy regular stocks and bonds more easily with bitcoin.  I'm talking about besides stock in bitcoin related companies, which is fairly easy right now.

There are not many rational reasons why  someone would be interested to know the amount of Bitcoins of random forum users. This thread is useless.

besides knowing the distribution about the bitcoin wealth, which would still be pointless with this kind of sample

I don't think core should be dissolved.  All the members have a ton of experience.  I do think there needs to be a massive overhaul though.  Their current model of leadership is broken IMO.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing."

Overly general quote, but it does sum up the reason why I currently support XT.

Re: Maximum price bitcoin 2015

The only things I could see that would cause a serious upswing are if there's a stock market crash, if the FED raises interest rates, or if something goes crazy with either Greece or Puerto Rico.  Besides that I think the price at the end of the year will be slightly below $300.
