The solver is getting ready to publish his own walk-thru explaining how he decoded the painting. And when you read it you will see that 1) It didn't require to be brute forced. 2) I'll quote him here as he hasn't published the document yet, but he says "Number of permutations of the three data channels multiplied by the number of possible interpretations of channel states yields in 48 options."
So after reading how befuddled people are on this thread that there were too many possibilities and it wasn't fair, I see why this person walked away with the prize and I think he did a fine job. I'm looking forward to his published walk-thru, as it shows he is a brilliant and logical thinker.

The only thing I will argue is that there is a lot of interpretable ambiguity in the painting. Likely the reason it was not solved for 3 years.

If the morse/the_____isthekeyfile is apart of the solution I'm going to be slightly pissed unless there's a reasonable explanation on how to get to that point besides brute forcing.

I think with how the tracks were determined you also have a coordinate set:
X as Inner/Outer
T as Top/Bottom/Left/Right
D as Clockwise/Counter Clockwise
Which given, only two of these properties are binary.

Very likely, just to make people interested. Although this was very, very quick, few seconds after I've tweeted she followed me and liked the tweet.
Although it's likely she encourages everyone, I really think you found the missing part of the message. It's interesting how she encoded the message in a relatively short bitstream with two different ciphers (Bacon + Morse) and mixed the ribbons with it.
I mean it doesn't sound too far off. I need to take another look at the length stream and how people derived the first part. It still feels very odd, but I'm sure there might be a rational explanation behind things.

The public key can be encoded along the private key, which could be used to explain how the private key is encoded. ie: Outer ring is public, inner is private or vice versa.

There are several places that are not 100% readable, some users read those as skinny, some as fat - this doesnt happen w/colors or heights.
This is enough to discredit the entire idea.

Just as an opinion, what I've learned from Cicada Liber Primus solving is that you need to catalog EVERYTHING you do. It gets really crazy with what people are trying versus what hasn't been tried yet.
Doing something like unit tests or just uploading the code is really useful.

Well. For now I'm throwing the towel in. I think the puzzle is interesting but there are obvious things that make it stand out as more frustrating than challenging. If it was straightforward, I am sure it would have been solved by now. There are many people showing promising ideas, but there is a lack of any notable progress.
The creator likely will not provide any assistance as it gives her more use unsolved than solved (advertising and it will be a hallmark if it remains unsolved as the MYSTERIOUS painting that baffled tons of people. When in reality, if a solution is published, it's probably riddled with inelegance and logical jumps that you'd have to be lucky in order to explore). Good luck everyone!
