I can't seem to raise coinpot techsupport and decided to come here.  I did not know about any problems with BCH earlier this fall, so I went ahead and sent a deposit over 2weeks ago, but it has yet to show up in my coinpot BCH acct although blockchain claims it was confirmed over 11 days ago.

Any ideas what I should do about this?
There is not much what you can do now. There is no chance that Coinpot support will answer to you. You can only wait - maybe BCH will appear on your ballance one day, but unfortunately it's not very likely to happen. I hope you didn't deposited big amount of BCH, because it's likely that these coins are lost... I'm sorry to say it.

No, it wasn't very much at all, but I still hope it shows up eventually.  I guess I'll be posting a warning to the place where I'd earned the funds to warn others to request payment in other coins, not BCH. . . It had the cheapest network fee. . . I should have chosen another coin myself I guess. . . darn.

Jeez dude .. . . .you don't deposit with Coinpot . . . .they are a collecting point for the free faucets . . . . .

Eh, I've deposited to coinpot just fine in the past.  My usual habit has been to send deposits over in BCH, then convert to BTC and then send that over to freebitco to earn daily interest.  Worked just fine, and if you go into any of your coinpot coin summaries, you DO see a deposit button.  It does work.  This BCH fiasco is a problem, but depositing otherwise does work. I've done it just fine in the past.

Re: (2nd ? for today) Coinpot: How to change my wallet ID?
by

If you mean wallet address by wallet ID then go to "Find your wallet address", enter new address, link new address, enter your Coinpot email id, verify your new address by signing a message, and this address will be linked to your Coinpot account.

The "find your wallet address" is on what site?  I don't see that at the coinpot website.  Yes you sign up with the email address, but a wallet ID is associate, or wallet address as apparently some here are calling it.  I need to change that association.  Your directions are clear except for letting me know which site I'm on to begin with.  Either I'm blind and not seeing it, or I don't see the "find my wallet address" at coinpot itself.
Log out your account in coinpot.co then in the main page you'll see the "Find your wallet address" link below the register and sign in button on a web browser / below the sign in button on a mobile browser.

1. Search the address you want to link
2. Click "Link wallet address" button
3. Enter your coinpot.co email address
4. If found to be existed, verify the ownership of the address by making a deposit or sign a message

**Accurate instructions are available in the site.
That's it.

Oh!  I have to log out to see it!  Ok.  And no, I did not see instructions for this on the site as a logged in member.

Anyone know where the "find my wallet address" link went to?  I'm told it exists but I can't find it and need to change the default BTC wallet address I'm currently using.  I've checked my account settings, the withdrawal screen, etc.  I'm hoping I'm just blind and completely missing it somewhere. . .

Those steps won't help without a phone number to actually give my account.  I have to add that before I can do anything else.  Thanks for your suggestions though.
Since it's money and you're worried to let someone know your credentials/access your account, only way is to follow support's advice. Don't you have a family member with you that has a mobile, or a friend?

It has been an issue to me as well before. Such a hassle that I need to install the app first and open it everytime I log in my account on a web browser. They seem to not consider the idea of a user not having a phone.  Undecided

I am not sure how you take the region as the issue on accessing the xapo wallet. I was using the xapo wallet for some months before but I did not find the issue on accessing the wallet at all.

Since i am from the Asian region and I did not find the issue on accessing the wallet at all mate.
You may login to the wallet and write a support ticket for the assistance from them with the below link.
https://tpi.xapo.com/contact-us/?lang=en

Supposedly, I've been talking via email support with the supervisor of the Customer Service Dept and they absolutely WILL NOT BUDGE on this!  They won't even help by moving the funds at my request on their back end!  I told them this kind of behaviour is illegal in North America and what do they respond with??? "What do you mean by North America?"  Who ARE these people?!!!  What planet are they from?!  If I can change my wallet ID over at Coinpot (different thread), I'll just forget my xapo account ever existed.  I have roughly $20 CAD in satoshi over there, but it's just not worth the hassle anymore.  Not when I get idiotic responses like THAT back!

Anyone here representing coinpot?  I tried sending an email, but I never get responses to my emails so they must be hitting the spam bin.

I want to change the wallet ID associated with my coinpot account.  I can't find where to do this.  Help?

Forgive me, I discarded xapo a long time ago lol. (If I'll be born again, I'm pretty sure I'll do the same thing)

Anyway, You must be talking about this? https://support.xapo.com/how-do-i-log-into-my-xapo-account/view=faq
It is stated there that the verification code is automatic but not on ios which means you have to enter it manually there. That said, maybe it's possible to access your account by:

1. Hire someone to just receive the code (the SMS) - From what I remember, it cost $3-$5
2. Install an ios emulator = https://techonation.com/best-ios-emulators-for-windows-run-ios-apps/
3. Have X send the code to you via telegram or other chat platform.....
4. Enter the code manually.

Those steps won't help without a phone number to actually give my account.  I have to add that before I can do anything else.  Thanks for your suggestions though.

What do you mean by completely mobile? You can't access your account via web browser?

Or is it they locked your account and now they want you to only access using their app. If so, What is the need of a phone number? Is it for verification like they'll send a code and you'll enter it? If it is, you can hire someone for that (here on forum). Furthermore, Are you sure they're not asking for a past phone number (If you had any)?

For the app access, you can just use an android simulator.

You can't log into the web browser version without getting the 6 digit verification code from the app on the phone.  They've gone completely app-based so that even if you do log into your account in the web browser with the phone number and 6 digit code, there are functions such as sending btc that will only happen on the phone.

I installed an android simulator on my pc thinking that would let me in, but nope, they want a phone number to go with it.  It isn't a past number, no, this is all new since the Fall.  I haven't been able to log in since August 2017.  I have to associate a mobile phone number now with my account and they won't accept my textnow phone number.

I don't have enough btc in the account to justify hiring someone unfortunately, otherwise that could be an option.  Although because they have to log into my account with my credentials  and their phone number, it's a huge trust issue to do that!

XAPO now completely mobile, locking me out of my account!
by

on 30/03/2018, 23:21:40 UTC
Has anyone else been able to get through to Xapo supervisors at all?  I don't have a mobile phone.  I found Textnow to obtain a local texting number so those with cells can still reach me that way when I am using my BB playbook, but Xapo won't recognize the VOIP phone number as a legit #.

I have repeatedly tried to regain access to my account, to no avail.  I now want to remove what little I have left there, and close the account, but they won't agree to follow my directions to remove the funds on my behalf even!  When I asked the email support rep for a phone number to contact a supervisor in the company, he went silent!

I'm having a hard time believing that a company would not have any methods available whatsoever to deal with customers who do not have a mobile device.  The closest answer they could offer:  "Borrow a friends or family member's cell to do the job, app access only"!

As a computer tech, I find this completely unacceptable!  Anyone know how to get past email support to someone on the phone?

You know when i started to work with bitcoin, So in this time, i also stared with a little amount of bitcoin. But with the time, we learn different things like investment, trading and gambling and working on signature campaign. These all are different parts, where you could earn bitcoins. But main thing is that you should have skills to earn the money or bitcoins.

On the earning thing and skills, my business website is being revamped to accept payment for invoices and services in bitcoin in addition to the usual paypal, e-transfer, etc.  I've been working on that for the past few weeks.  I have one major hiccup to fix, then I can share it with the BTC community as well as the fiat.  After chasing too many people down over the years to get paid, I am also moving to a pre-paid model where people will buy tech support in blocks of time and THEN get support for their problems, rather than being billed after the fact.  Once I'm ready, I'll be promoting.

Took longer than appreciated, but my business is now set up to accept BTC as a viable method of payment.  I have just posted over in the marketplace/services section.

I would like to share my strategy on how I earned bitcoins using the faucets. I only open five tabs on my PC or my mobile. I just got a day job and I am assigned on the field so I can open my mobile device every now and then. I am just in the crypto world for about a month so if anybody could give me a better strat I would love to hear it.

I use the moon faucets on bitcoin, dogecoin and litecoin. I also use the freebit, and freedoge.co faucets. What I like on the freebitco site is their reward point system. I earned about .02BTC in the last month using this strategy.

I deposited about .004BTC on my freebitco to start earning interest. then I claim on the faucets hourly and check my reward points. As you can see there, if you reach 3200 RP you can increase your claims by 1000% for 24 hours. 0.00001700+ is not that big but it is better than 170 satoshis. To reach 3200 RP you either need to gamble a lot or be patient and use the 100 RP/roll and roll more than 12x a day to be on profit. I use the 1000% every weekend, since I am more free to roll and I could stay on the PC for 48 hours(and get short naps every hour). While doing this, I also have an online job so I say faucets for me are not a waste of time since I use the computer and just keep the tabs open. Then, I use the interest I get per day plus the 90% of the faucet claim to multiply using the martingale strategy. When I win about 10,000 satoshis or lose 25% of my balance, I stop. Once I reach 200,000 satoshis on profit I then transfer it to my software wallet. I prefer Exodus since they offer wallets for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Dash and UI is really good for the newbs.

Oh and also, I have two other mobile apps that give free satoshis linked to my Xapo account and transfer them to my freebit account to add in gaining interest/roll capitals. I already got back my .004 and have about .02 in my freebit account that gains interest. It was up to .03 this morning but I lost because I did not stick to the plan, losing 524k satoshis in one bet.

I don't gamble, so I won't be using that.  I currently have 0.001+ over freebitco.in at the moment, and once I've earned the network fee, I'll be transfering another 0.001 over there that I earned over the past two weeks. Minus the gambling and the .004 head start, your ideas are similar to someone else's I found.  :-)

Ok, so I continued on my way, and I guess the system stopped sending me updates after a bit because I didn't realize we were on page three now till I logged back in.  lol.

Anyway, the faucet thing was to prove to myself that a person without any resources CAN get into the world of bitcoin successfully.  I've written two blog posts now as of last night and wanted to share them with the group.  The shifting sands of the faucet world meant that my recommended (sort of) faucet list has ended up quite short!  Those of you who are against earning BTC in this manner will probably laugh while banging your head against the nearest post after reading why I call my list "Faucet Alley", but the truth is the truth and I found no one else was being truthful about the pitfalls of doing it this way.  It was doable for me because of my background as a computer repair tech.

My small financial website is here:  http://songdove.fa-ct.com/wordpress-mu/

You'll find the two bitcoin articles under "reviews" if you read this long after today.  I share a broad range of themes on this blog related to living life on less than a shoestring budget, so figuring out how to get into the world of bitcoin without spending any fiat, fit right into my blog's over-arching theme.

Faucet Alley is linked in the sidebar.  Myfe, you'll be happy to see freebitco.in listed there.  I read a strategy for using your site's RP to eventually earn your teaser of up to $200/hr and am trying to put it into action.  If it works for me, that will be another blog article.

Im glad we have you over here @songdove.
Your typing style is very nice, not as most of the newbies here you know something about bitcoin and it's mechanisms.

I wanted to ask you, if you are not able to convert only 15$ ( if you cant, then less ) to bitcoin?
It would be really nice if you can afford it, because I would say that this is still really small sum to start with.

15$ is currently around 0,01254 bitcoin.
Firstly, I suggest you staying out of any type of investment sites, most of them are ponzi scheme's or just regular scams where you dont get anything for sending them your money.
If you want to earn money only on storing them somewhere, then investing in reputable cryptocurrency casinos might be a good idea, I think that cryptogames.com are fine enough.

Also, stay away from gambling, the chance to win something bigger isn't high enough to take the risk.
The best solution for you is browse through "service" section to see what kind of skills do people offer.
That would be the best way to make bitcoins, or also through signature campaining- but you need higher rank than newbie for that, jr.members are getting payed really low, but it is something at least.

Just please, dont touch faucets anymore, you can use your time in better way.

Thanks for your kind words.

I wish I could invest my own money into trying this out, but I am a struggling computer repair tech working as a self contractor and living in a household of "gibbles" as we jokingly call ourselves, so income is not where it should be to pay bills and put food on the table, let alone put into a savings account.  I have creditors calling me wondering where their money is.  So hence the need to earn BTC from the ground up if I am going to try this out.

As for using my time a better way, I have set myself up with bitpay and will be looking into ways to add the option to pay for my services from my website via BTC.  I am also considering add it as an option to my author site's bookstore as a way to purchase my books.  I am quite busy offline at the moment, so I haven't really had time to go looking for this services section of the forum everyone is talking about, but I'm sure I'll locate it eventually.

The best thing you can do is go invest your bitcoin in a legit site

That's the somewhat confusing/bothersome issue.  I have a tab open listing off all the scam sites and the list is huge!  Most of what I see advertised around the 'net is on this list.  Then I go to other "watch list" sites that rank them based on if they're paying or not, and while the official ranking might be good, the comments and posted reviews often see the ranking go from good to bad in a matter of months.  "Legit" to me means staying in the good rankings all the time, not just for a period of several months or so.  The two sites I mention in my original post are currently in the "good ranking" status supposedly, but I wanted feedback on them or better suggestions if they aren't seen as legit.

I read that you have some bulk of sats stored as a investment on freebitco.in  it is indeed a good idea till your amount staked is low once it is higher than 1 btc , move it from there as i don't recommend you to have any btc on any online wallets.

I always help new people who are willing to adopt crypto ecosystem, if you want some free bits like 0.001BTC, send me your address, But again spend it wisely Smiley

Thanks for your offer, it made me realize I hadn't added that info to my forum profile.  It's added now.  "Spend it wisely" is the reason I came here.  I figured there are people here who know more about growing BTC wisely.  I am a quick learner, and it appears I picked up on some stuff on my own as it turns out.  But being wise is important enough to seek out others' wisdom on the matter.

As for an online wallet, I want to test out the debit card method of using BTC offline (step three in my original post) and I need an online wallet to do that.  Maybe when funds permit, I can afford a secure offline wallet in the future.

I strongly insist you check out the mining with your PC section I told you in the post above. I am mining LBRY with CCminer and check the pictures below how much they can make you within 24 hours for a month with a graphic card GTX 1060.

http://i.imgur.com/99zQOAR.png

http://i.imgur.com/6Z4cC9p.png

You see you can make 1.80 USD a day or 0.001547 btc per day. You can leave your PC open while you are at work.

As I said check the section Altcoin Mining of this forum here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

Being a newbie on the forum, I am limited to how fast I can reply.  I was going to say to your previous post that my PC is 10 yrs old, so I won't be using it to mine.  I would want a separate box for that anyway with it's own paid internet connection so that I don't get hackers on my home network.  That's another "when funds permit" item.
