I had a good experience as well with SphereScape. I purchased a very nice rifle within the last week.  I unequivocally recommend them for firearms purchase with bitcoin.  PM me if you'd like a reference or have questions.

Re: Performed a chargeback with my Visa Provider

Visa is a card payment brand not a currency.  You couldn't do your chargeback if you paid in cash either.

It is possible that a bank could issue Visa cards tied to depository accounts holding BTC and do currency conversion from USD to BTC for your debits and credits.  Then you may enjoy chargeback rights on a visa transaction in which you effectively paid using BTC not USD.

From what I have read, these are facts:

  • He was not working for a foreign government
  • He did not reveal the info for money
  • He concluded that his agency was breaking the law
  • He was selective about what he revealed
  • He went public at a great personal cost

...and he made public illegal activity by public officials ( breach of everyones 4th amendment rights ), so he is a whistleblower and should be protected. The senators that were briefed and approve of this should stand trial for conspiring to commit civil rights violations along with the NSA, FISA court judges, and the President.

RE:  US companies are banned from accepting bitcoin as payment

I think that would require statutory action - a new law.  I don't know what authority regulators would have otherwise.

BTW, it seems overreaching to shut down a payment system because someone does something illegal with it.  By that logic, the secret service should go after the U.S. treasury for printing paper bills... because, there's a lot of illegal commerce done using U.S. paper dollars.

It seems like you get these sort of brush off responses from looking at the other thread too where you've tried to get help. Do this. Wait. No, you should do that. Wait.  Now try this. Wait. Looks like the run around.  Like maybe they hope you get worn out and give up and they keep your money.

That's quite an accusation - I asked for the username to be confirmed so that a refund can be issued without making an error by sending it to the wrong account - in what way is that unreasonable?

Go look at the hoops the poor guy jumped through in the other forum.  It isn't like this was his first attempt as you made it appear.

Bitcoin is 'open' and Apple is not... Reason is control.  Can't make enough money on it or it threatens proprietary bus plans.

What was the scenario?  You sold coins?  Or you deposited other fiat and later wanted it out?  Please explain.

I suppose this newb forum is necessary, but after lurking for some time I can honestly say there are still a ton of 2yr olds posting in your forums. My goodness, the insane and egomaniacal come out of the woodwork. Do the Mods have a ban hammer or just not care?  If not care, then why the newb forum?

Hi.  I'm an old-school payments pro - ach, atm, debit card, etc.  I first learned of bitcoin at a Fed Payments Conference. Was intrigued enough to research more.  Started mining in December.  It is half business research, half hobby.
