Re: An Insider’s View Of A Successful Bitcoin Startup

Image problem?  How about starting with a business plan?

My point exactly, and I doubt that a succesful startup like Exmo could have operated as long as they have without a proper business plan.

If you need 30 friends on facebook then it's not somehing i would be interested in.
I don't use facebook and never will, too intrusive for me.
Good luck but mabe a good idea to change the topic title, it's not really a $30 giveaway.
I must admit i haven't looked at the links yet but it's the facebook thing that cancells me out straight away.

Yeah, it's not exactly what I would call it - doesn't sound like a giveaway to me.

It may not be called exactly what it is but still it's an offer suitable for some people.

Who exactly is accepting it?

Here it explains how it works with the merchants.

Asia and Africa are the continents that hasn't been fully explored by Bitcoin investors and developers. Money remittance is a huge market and Bitcoin can easily eliminate the huge transfer fees charged by banks and Western Union.

David Oasis

Well that's pretty obvious, but the question stands, if I can order and use their card in Europe.

If it' a Visa Debit Card, why shouldn't it work around the world?

They say they are going to giveaway coins this year.

I don't get it - first people BOUGHT the coins and THEN they'll give them away for free? Am I missing something here?

This is what they say:
We are pre-mining 4.5% of the total ziftrCOINs, 66.7% of which we will give away to consumers. In doing this, we hope that more consumers start to become familiar with cryptocurrency. To further achieve this goal, we are developing a mobile wallet that will hold all major types of cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Litecoin and ziftrCOIN.

Here's an update on the contest.

Looks like ZiftrCOINs presale fetched them some decent money - anyone else following the news?

Despite of the weird name they've managed to sell close to $1 million worth of coins, oh my.

What's wrong with the name?

The coin itself sounds ok, the name is kinda hard to pronounce.

its not free, imo its not a good deal
they want to you to pay them 30$ for membership and in the return you get 10$ worth XCP and 20$ worth shopping voucher

Does not sound too bad to me - along with it you get a paid membership.

Yes. I bought it. It looks 100x better than any other ICO out there and there is real company behind it. So..

only time will tell the rest.

I thought so too. Have you seen this? Looks like it was fun.

Whoa, that Perianne chick is hot!

so, they promised $10 for early signup??
or??

Yes, that's what their front page says.

heemmm, okay.
let's see if they'll give us free $10, I have already signup..., Grin

Also curious. Anyone got ten bucks already?
or may be they are collecting emails of bitcoin users for marketing purpose or to sell the data others

For this only purpose - looks sort of too complicated, doesn't it?

The service looks ok but sounds at the moment as it's only going to work for South East Asia.

They also promise $10 for an early signup.

They also issue a real card which seems pretty convenient.

Looks like the contest ends today.

I wonder if we'll see anything really interesting, not some obvious stuff.

Sounds like they're still accepting articles - I went for one of the smaller prizes and hope to win.

Smaller prizes are easier to win, problem is, they're smaller Wink

Applied to facebook, how long it normally takes to accept/reject?

What's the point to change the height?

The market is mature enough and no need to change anything.

Voted for ''no change'' !!!

Re: [BMR] Merged mining in BitMonero (proposal)
by

Just for everyone to be sure,

if you retrieved the source code from github lately and compiled it, you are automatically voting for merged mining.  You can tell by looking at cryptonote_config.h in /src/

SUPPORT merged mining:
Code:
#define CURRENT_BLOCK_MINOR_VERSION                     1

AGAINST merged mining:
Code:
#define CURRENT_BLOCK_MINOR_VERSION                     0

That's right. Results will be calculated starting from the moment an explicit voting option will be provided.

What to do in case I have Linux ? As far as I understood there is no Linux ver which support merged mining, am I right?
I am not a programmer and not capable to create binaries

Buy Bitcoins and 3-5 another cryptocurrencies. The chance that all of them at once will go to the bottom is very unlikely.
