Good review for BitHD wallet.
I like to read real reviews for products, and test devices myself.
I don't mind so much lack of support for many shitcoins, but if BitHD wants to compete with brands like Trezor and Ledger they need to provide PC connection.
Mobile app is good, but PC and Mac apps must be added.

Thank you for the feedback, we will consider to do this in the future. But currently, we focus on Mobile APP.

我用的比特派,一是因为一键买卖特别方便,人民币、美元都接受。二是因为安全,去中心化钱包,买到的是真币而不是交易所那种代码。

Well, we must admit that bitcoin is still an experiment. But I literally hope it will work.  This evolution is happening around the world, and now it affects millions of people. Compare to the bank, bitcoin is more easy to use and with high security. Finally, it will be accepted by all the countries in the world.

Open sourced doesn`t to 100% safety and doesn`t mean it must be more secure than a wallet that not open-sourced. Because open source means that more people can act as monitors to ur code, but also gives ppl chance to figure out the mistake in your code.

Okay, back to your require. My recommendation is the Bither wallet.
Bither is an open source wallet that supports Bitcoin SegWit address. Also, a wallet that recommends by Bitcoin.org
The Bither / Bitpie dev team has a very good reputation in China and their users never lost any coins in the past 5 years according to their announcement.

Re: Does any body know what happened to today's price?
by
stanlee2018
on 02/04/2019, 09:28:27 UTC
The price hit 5,000 today. Obviously, it will fall back to 4,000 these days. But does anybody know what the hale it is?

a key resistance ($4200) was broken. lots of stop losses were sitting right above that breakout area. looks like some big liquidations too. margin calls + stop run = fast price movement. it doesn't necessarily indicate a new bull market or anything, just that temporarily shorts were heavy, supply was low and demand was strong.

i'm really glad to see this breakout though. it's the first weekly higher high since december 2017. i think we're really carving out a bottom range now. give it 6 more months and we might just have ourselves a bull market.

The bottom range pretty clearly was 3100 - 4200, which lasted some 4.5 months.

what are you talking about? it hasn't even been 4 months since the bottom.

how are you gauging what the "bottom range" is? how do you know you're not just focusing on a few months within a larger range over a longer time period? why do you expect this bear cycle to end so much faster than the 2014-15 cycle?

Its been in that range for 4.5 months, with the actual literal bottom (lowest price) coming 3.5 months ago. The bottom in 2015 ended with a large spike after breaking through resistance. That's literally what happened tonight.

I didn't expect this bottom to end so much faster than the 2015 bottom. The bear market lasted only about two months less this time (took 14 months in 2014, took 12 months in 2018), but i fully expected the bottom to last around as long as the 2015 bottom and for us not to see the kind of price movement we just saw tonight until late summer or early fall. But now we saw it, can't unsee it. As long as it doesn't fall back below $4200 we are out of the bottom.

But if you think about it a quicker bottom makes sense. Last bear market there was MtGox which not only robbed a lot of the bitcoin community of their money, but made people afraid to get in and took down the largest exchange in a time when large exchanges weren't prevalent they way they are today. Also it was the first time there was a full 4 year cycle (assuming the 4 year cycle holds into the future) and therefore a ~2 year bear+bottoming market. Now bitcoiners have seen this all before. We all knew to expect a long bear market, and a bottoming out phase lasting a significant amount of time too. We also all knew it will turn around. Whereas the 2014-2015 market was down soooo much longer than at any previous point for bitcoin. Basically this was a lot less scary for bitcoiners so we were just waiting knowing the next bull run is coming, I think 4 years ago a lot of people lost hope cuz it was soooo much longer than any previous bitcoin market.

Also when comparing the two periods, 2018/2019 and 2014/2015, bitcoin is constantly in the news now, its talked about on financial programs quite often, tech CEOs talk about it, governments talk about it, you have major tech companies and banks working on their own cryptocurrencies, you have lots of companies researching blockchain, you have institutions on Wall St gearing up to offer Bitcoin services this year.

Basically if you pay attention to the financial industry or the tech industry at all you hear a lot about bitcoin. It is much more relevant today than 4 years ago simply in terms of being paid attention to. Bitcoin basically dropped off the face of the earth (the little bit of the global consciousness that it had entered in late 2013 and early 2014) during the last bear market. This time thats not remotely true.

So yeah it makes sense if this bottom is over and the bull market just started and was only half as long as the last bottoming out phase, because there's 100x more things happening in bitcoin in terms of interest and attention than there was at this point in the last cycle.

Maybe you define bottom differently. But I would define it as the bottom of the market, in which bitcoin was stuck range bound near the absolute bottom and under high resistance at a specific level, and once that resistance broke it is able to spike up unlike anything seen during the bottom. Defines what we saw with the bottom in 2015 and now.

I hope the price will crash tonight. Because I already sold out my Bitcoins...

Yes we all know. It broke through the resistance that was holding bitcoin at the bottom of the market. The resistance was around $4200, which served as the top of the bottom of the market since November. The price has been edging up towards that for a while now, and was rubbing right up against it today, and it finally broke. Bottoming is over, likely the next multi-year bull run just started tonight. For reference, look at October 2015, same thing happened to start the last bull run.

Do you have the price chart for 2015?

The Lightning Network is getting more and more attention from the Bitcoin Community.  It seems to be a potentially huge market in the next stage.
Recently, one of the big Lightning Node BitMEX gives a reaserch about the Lightning Network routing fee economics.  Here attach the link of this article. Tell me how you think after reading it. We shall discuss about it. Grin

Re: Lightning Network will help bitcoin`s price reach 6,000 USD in November
by
stanlee2018

This is the reason why Bitcoin crashed so hard last November. Basically everybody assumed that "November" and "December" are usually bullish months and they went all out and overleveraged themselves and this is what caused that massive crash.

Right now we can only hope that $4200 area gets engulfed and we close above it on the weekly candle and then we hope that it won't crash under it. If we get this, then this will be the first time since the ATH since we get a weekly close above a previous pivot.

All these predictions are all guesses in my opinion and they should all be taken with a grain of salt.

Bitcoin has a community all over the world. It seems the will of all BTC community members become more and more strong than before. If all of them think it shall be like that, it will be like that. It`s even like a religion.

I can imagine there will be more and more companies bring their cold wallet in the market. I myself have some knowledge about the hardware wallet.
1, The hardware wallet must be open-source.
2, It must have a screen to show us the tx information in case it be replaced by hackers.
3, It can not be based on an Android system, because it will bring more uncertain attacks that relate to Android itself.
4, It is better it can support multisig.

Now only three wallets can do all the things; They are

Like the topic of this page, it just a kind of Speculation. From the bitcoin price chat history, November it a month that have more chance to have a higher price .

Some post their predictions with no "support" at all, some come with shiny graphs and analysis.
You come with some historic data, but at least you are honest: it's just speculation. I like that.
(Somehow I feel that this should written down more often, since many newbies or occasional readers may not know.)

Back on track: on history-based forecasts I tend to agree, November was - sometimes - a good month. On the other hand February-March used to be bad (Chinese New Year, Tax..) and this year it was not worse than the (already bad) average. So history may be deceiving too. I hope you are right and we'll be at 6k+ by November, though.

Yeah, u can not actually predict what will happen in the future, even with the best analyst 、charts.

Hey guys, as you may know, that with the increasing of Lightning Network nodes and channels, the influence of LN become bigger than before.
And it actually makes easier for ppl to have and use bitcoin than before.
If we think a step forward, Apps that base on Lightning Network will be a great chance for developers. So will Lapps instead of Dapps in the future? How do u think?

Re: TRON vs EOS
by

Tron is plagiarized and EOS is centralized. My pick would be neither. There are several other samrt contract platforms out there that are miles ahead of these two coins. Pick one of them instead.

I don`t like either of them. But Unlike TRON,  EOS wants to achieve its goal in the finance market. And I know they are doing something. I don`t like EOS because u can not always give the market a solution that immaturity。

I am not offending, but I do not understand, why I should use this? I can just download an app on my phone to help me to monitor and alerts me.

Hi stanlee2018,

Not offensive at all, all feedback is good feedback.

This product is more like a gimmick/niche product for crypto enthusiast that are looking for something different/unique.

Similar to wearing a watch or having a custom crypto painting for example.

Also keep in mind that a full fledged wallet is planned to be incorporated when time allows, this would bring some more usable functionality to the product.

Haha. That makes sense. Will follow the topic and wait for the wallet.
