I never liked those super-expensive cars... Most of them are way over-priced, offer no real design/technology innovation, consume lots of fuel, and some are really ugly to my taste (Lambos included).

I'd prefer a good Japanese, super-reliable and normally-priced car. Or a car with real innovation in its design, like a Tesla (provided they sort out their QC issues).

Definitely. I'm currently driving a 2000 TDI VW Jetta with 280,000 miles I paid cash for. I've had a new car on my radar for a while now but this one just keeps on keeping on. My replacement wishlist is pretty modest too (though it does include a Tesla Cheesy).

You´re boring.  I want a Electro-Porsche.

Minimum.

really makes me a little sad

Yep, me too, but i sold half of my NEM near the peak into bitcoin (sorry). Now i´m wow, wtf ?

Aand the other half will appreciate and solve my retirement plan in the not so distant future. No doubt. Not even a shred.
Let the world first get used to bitcoin, only then they will ask themselves: What better is out there ? Takes a while.
Our devs know that, quietly working and smiling, knowing what´s coming . . .

Sorry Jabo, just couldn´t resist, i´m guessing, you´re a bit tired from all the bullshit, you have to digest in here too, so, noses, it is, but with a grain of salt  Smiley )

What do you mean with copy the wallet from the other computer? i deinstalled the complete operating system from the original computer. i don't have a backup or something like that from the NEM wallet  Huh

@tyz: That won't work because if you import only the account then a new remote key is created and NIS doesn't know the remote key for the account. You have to copy the wallet from the other computer to the new computer. Then it should work.

Same happened to me, when i moved one account of mine to an other wallet.
The solution was :

- deactivate delegated harvesting by paying 6 XEM and wait the 6 hours (at top right button)

- then activate again by paying 6 XEM and wait the 6 hours (at top right button)

then, when you have reached the "active" status again, you should be able to "start delegated harvesting" (at the left button).

Try that, it should work then, i didn´t need to copy anything from old wallet .

And no, you don´t have to wait. When you put in a new IP of a node in "settings", you go to the "Start delegated harvesting" button immediately . Try to start that, and if no work (Oops, bla bla . .),
Where I can find that node ip "settings"?
Quote
Protocol
HTTP
Host localhost
Port default
Use default port.
Settings points to localhost, and I think that is secure. Also no information about node settings option in settings. Also that a big misunderstanding I only today figure out, sadly I need to have wallet open and start remote harvesting every time I login. First I thought that only one click of the button is OK.

- Go to: http://www.nodeexplorer.com/ , pick a node, which is status online and runs the latest release.
Copy its IP-address.

-Go to your client, open settings, delete the word "localhost" at Host, and paste in the IP-address, instead.
Click "Save".

- In the wallet "Start delegated harvesting"
(provided, you had activated the whole delegating-service, the 6 Xem, 6 hours, one time thing, earlier).

You probably will have to repeat this process a few times, with different nodes, until you find one, which hasn´t "reached the maximum number of harvesters" yet (Mr. "Oops", will tell you that . .).

Hello friends,

I believe that I have the nemwallet 0.6.28 release and I have a XEM balance in this wallet.
If I download the newer 0.6.31 nemwallet will my XEM balance be auto transferred to the new wallet or do I have to do a procedure?
I'm a newbie and appreciate your help.

The balance will automatically transfer, no need to do anything.

Just be sure you always have a backup of your wallet:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654845.msg10972209#msg10972209

Thank you.  Say, should I uninstall the old wallet and do you have a link?

No, smash your computer, out the window, as long as you have backed up your private key (in keepass2, for example) you´re good. Please back up that private key.
It´s not about computers and wallets, it´s about that private key !

Do it, do it, do it . . . DO IT !    (I mean, backing up the private key, not smashing your computer . .   Smiley )

Concerning pricing of NEMcredits on Nem AE:

Let's say i borrowed 100000 NCR. I need to buy a certain equipment for realization of my business, my idea in the outside world. What do I do? I put up for sale 100000 NCR on Nem AE. And when from me they aren't bought the whole week, at me in number of them remains already 99000 NCR. Thus, time at me their quantity decreased as each 7 days time of automatic payment of the commission comes to 1%, I am compelled to put the price 1% higher of Nem AE. Thus from week to week the price of NEMcredits of Nem AE will be higher and higher. as will induce people to buy NEMcredits for XEM from people to whom the credit was issued. They on these means will build various new services for NEM.

Here it will work everything so.

I´m sorry, but can anybody explain this to me in one language. Thanks. Really, sorry, but i can´t follow., peep, peep

Please, don´t bother buying back in, cause we´ll never get rid of you then  Smiley

@ nzminer: Alice is just the name of some pretty consistant nodes, but i go to nodeexplorer and try all the nodes, which are on the latest version, 0.6.31, because older ones will kick you out (without you noticing, when you closed the client), when they update, anyway.

And no, you don´t have to wait. When you put in a new IP of a node in "settings", you go to the "Start delegated harvesting" button immediately . Try to start that, and if no work (Oops, bla bla . .), insert next IP immediately, try again, until you get the button to show:"Stop delegated harvesting".
Many nodes are fully occupied, so just try until you get no more "Oopses"  Smiley

The waiting thing and 6 XEM-fee applies only to the initial "activate (generally) delegated harvesting", on the top right, ONCE only.

Thanks for that info, this was helpful, i think ive got it going now, so hopefully its all good. i will know in 24 hours i guess.

When your importance is high, and you´re lucky, you could catch a block in a few minutes. I did.
But, open your wallet and check back regularly, because you´ll get kicked off a node, for various reasons, quite often. Then just "Start delegated harvesting" again, but if "Oops", put in a new one, start again.

The point is, to finally find nodes, that don´t kick you off every day, thats the hard part it seems.

Btw. recently i added an existing account of mine to the wallet and just couldn´t get it to start delegated harvesting on this account, so i deactivated (at top right) the delegated harvesting (for this account), paid 6 Xem, waited for 6 hours, and activated it again (another 6 Xem and 6 hours), started the delegated harvesting again and voila, it worked. But this process was an exception, well i hope.
( so, the initial 6 Xem "activate del. harv." works only on an existing account, IF activated IN the specific wallet, where i added it to ) .

I really hope, all this gets simpler in the future, i mean, noobs have probably not thaat much patience for all this . .

But NEM is daeded anyway, somebody said (there´s a "TaunSew"-fanclub allready)   Smiley

TaunSew, thanks for the summary. Its weird, I kind of appreciate your posts sometimes. The only way I can describe it is like this.. you know when you're taking a shit and you need something to read while you're pushing a log out, you don't really care what it is but its better to have something there in front of you. Your mind kind of goes into an auto pilot kind of state, its quite pleasant.

As long as you two understand each other, it´s all good !

Try removing the db file from the nem folder and then start NIS again. It sounds like it got corrupted somehow.
It seems to be working now, blocks are updating.

Was to early with my happiness! I have 0 NEM in my wallet

Imported your private key ?
Using the right account ?

Headover to http://forum.ournem.com. This problem has been solved many times there.

Oh, it's ok now. Of course it had to sync starting from 0. Wallet is up to date. Many thanks for your help mate!  Smiley

Yes, just to be clear, when we sync a new chain, the balance will often say "0" as the chain is syncing, but then when it gets caught up to recent times, it will show the real balance.
Ok. Just one question: Is it necessary to activate "delegated harvesting"?

Not necessary, but it´s good for you, believe me. Do it, do it, DO IT !   (well, that was the short answer . .)
Then you will see by yourself, that this is one of the wonderfull features of NEM .

http://blog.nem.io/how-local-and-delegated-harvesting-works/

In "Settings" just change "lokal" to a remote NIS, you can use any of  http://www.nodeexplorer.com/

Then you can shut down your computer, and the XEMs will still come rolling in, if the remote NIS finds a block and the fees in it, which then is your´s . . No joking, it´s true, can´t believe it myself . .
And that all decentralized and with no risk, damn !

Yes, it is an amazing feature.  I was pretty blown away when I learnt about it.  And if you want to know something else, for all those running the stand alone, to do all that you need only run NCC.  That basically means that anybody can have NCC on a usb  (or just download from bob.nem.ninja), and have NEM started on a virgin computer and be sending transactions in under thirty seconds.

The NEM devs are building a really amazing foundation for NEM.  Just think about the possibilities that this will open up when we get mobile apps someday.

Yeah, cool, really, but let´s the newbies come aboard first, his question shows, that we´re still at basics, but he´s halfway here . .
