still no email sign up... will it happen in the near future?
Thanks for your interest. There is open account sign up through mining and some members are offering registration services for BCT contributors. @smooth is one of the members offering this service. Email will become a sign up option on Steemit, but we can only say that will come 'soon'. If you register for the waiting list on steemit.com, we will let you know when it's possible.

please fix the account creation form and my account.
I gave 2 different passwords and accidently clicked on submit and it submitted.
it took the first one with less then 16 characters and now I can't log in with facebook any more and new creation is not possible as well...

Thanks, we're working quickly to make sign up as seamless as possible. Do you know which browser was used when the account creation failed?

The platform can encompass any content, whether it was originally yours or reposted.
Voters and posters are rewarded by the chain, similar to how miners are rewarded for securing the network.
The earlier someone up votes a post that becomes popular, the more the blockchain rewards them.
I invite you to come try out blogging on the site. You can develop an open channel, called a Streem, to manage a community of topical discussion, or you can develop your own blog through the handle you create.
Just saw this being shared on facebook group thus leads me to finding your thread here in bitcointalk. ADZ actually came in mind when i first heard of it on facebook. okay so yeah i'll join why not. but when i was about the create an account, it says "Password length should be 16 characters or more. Password acts as your private key and should be strong." As if 8 characters isn't difficult enough to put in mind. why not just make it 8 and give us the option to set up the 2FA?
Yes, the password length thing is way to much. Also if you want more users, you should reach a wide public and not onlythose on Facebook. Just a thought.
Thanks, we agree and are iterating quickly to add email and SMS sign up to the site. The passphrase issue is difficult to tackle because keys are entirely client side, which makes our password management much like blockchain.info. However, we are always looking out for simpler and better solutions and will look more into the ideas above. Thanks for being an early visitor to the site!

I think you have a great idea here and am interested in being a witness, so I'm going to lay down my creds.
First of all, the Eclipse Crypto account is a join developer account. I originally used it to post in this thread because I was logged in as this account and forgot to log out. I thought it would be a one-off post but then it kind of exploded. The other Eclipse developers have been *very* understanding, and my apparent lunacy here is in no way a reflection of the Eclipse team.
From now on, I'll post in this thread as "Bubba-Gump".
Not sure how good is to vote for a certified liar as a witness. Such 'outdated' and too 'simple' things like morale and integrity, are not yet comrehended by this 'great minded' 'chess player' but.. hey - the are mostly forgotten here at BCT, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a trickster voted as witness here, and see this Ned to be happy for the liar participating... Disgusted a bit..
Drays, thank you for your analysis. The community would do well to account for it when they are voting for witnesses. Steem, at its core, is all about positive contributions. And we are in a position to support those who support the Steem movement. As far as witnesses, we will support those who tell the community about themselves openly and are demonstrating they will contribute positively. Others' votes will count more than ours after that.
