What do you think of the following post? It consists of ~1000 words and I wrote it from 0, without any plagiarism, in the hope of raising the awareness of new cryptocurrency users regarding ongoing scams.

Re: helping in the growth of cryptoworld
by

on 25/02/2018, 09:08:49 UTC
I think that the most important thing we could do at this stage is to educate the general public about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. We could start with:

1. The philosophy of bitcoin/crypto
A lot of people think that bitcoin was created only to be used for illicit activities. With all the exaggerations of the mainstream media, that's what most of my acquaintances believe bitcoin is for: paying for drugs, laundering money etc. Everyday we hear on the news that a crime lord has been arrested and that the police confiscated x hundreds of bitcoins from him. When I tell them (my acquaintances) about Satoshi's vision (and not just that, there is a lot of philosophy regarding other coins), most of them come to the conclusion that they have been deluded by the 'sensationalist' media. They actually find cryptocurrencies quite fascinating and want to start using them.

2. How to use bitcoin/cryptocurrencies
There is a great percentage of people in the world who can barely send an e-mail, or who simply don't know know how to use a computer. Using cryptocurrencies is for them the equivalent of rocket science. Good guides and courses should help in this area.

3. Raise the awareness regarding crypto scams
A lot of beginners get scammed these days, so that their enthusiasm turns to rage towards cryptocurrencies. Some start to think that everything regarding crypto is a scam and discourage other people from using them.

Re: marirea numarului de followers twitter
by

Ce inseamna numar mare? E destul de usor sa ajungi la 1000-3000. Pur si simplu dai follow tuturor follower-ilor concurentei.

If this is for beginners why post here.? Better post this in beginners and help section.

By the way you have great heart to reach out new comers not to get scam.

He publishes it here to get a merit. Really it's clear Smiley
It's unlikely that people left here who share classified information from a pure heart.

1. What difference does it make concerning merit whether the thread is here or in another section? Enlighten me, because I don't see any connection.

2. Should new users just stop posting useful information comprising of ~1000 words simply because they might be accused that they want to get merit? Such a crime, who would want to be accused of that? We should just stick to "Cool project!" posts.

3. What do you mean by classified information? Do you even know what that is?

4. How does your post add any value to this thread? If you don't have anything to add regarding the aforementioned topic, please refrain from posting.

It seems the twitter scam that I wrote about in the original post has evolved quite a lot. Now the scam post is followed by hundreds of other bot accounts which reply that they received the reward. Coinbase is facing the same issues: https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/967094969289846784

You can always follow the "Recently added" list on CMC: https://coinmarketcap.com/new/

Other than that, I suggest you do a little research for the latest successful ICOs. Then, follow their twitter pages and wait for their tokens to be listed on exchanges. After they get listed, wait for one or two weeks (or even more) for the price to drop, because there are always a lot of people who try to take profits from the starting price and they will dump their coins.

Thanks for more your usefull information. Will you invest this project?

Yes, I plan to do so. I usually invest in projects that I like, even though I do not expect a huge ROI at first. My intention is to hold the tokens for a year or two, see where the project goes. I think it's less stressful this way. Also, keep in mind that a lot of great companies took years to develop their outstanding products - it doesn't just happen overnight.

You can still participate in bounties if you have good translation skills or if you are popular on social media (having a lot of followers on twitter who engage with your tweets is pretty useful).

Re: What makes one exchange more attractive than another?
by

on 09/02/2018, 20:46:00 UTC
Apart from the criteria mentioned by AdolfinWolf, I also look at that exchange's history:
- whether it was hacked or involved in controversy,
- how they reacted to unfortunate events (hacks, crashes etc.)

You could also check whether they are:
- friendly to hard-forks
- distributing GAS (if you are the NEO type) etc.

I've been using https://www.cryptocompare.com for the past months. It suits me because I can create multiple portfolios and see them in different currencies. Another advantage is that I can acces it from both pc and phone.

Re: KYC - Connection of Identity and Wallet?
by
stefarion
on 09/02/2018, 19:23:52 UTC
However, does the KYC process establish a permanent connection between your identity and ETH Wallet-address, meaning, that only one of us can now undergo the process of any new ICO as his name is permanenty linked to that wallet address and the KYC-procedure would therefore not allow the other person (as he is not linked to the wallet)?
Or is there no such linking and we can both apply for KYC using the same Wallet addresses.

Does anybody know and is able to shed some light?
Thanks in advance and best wishes

A company for which you undergo the KYC process can only link your identity to the provided address for their own purposes. If you choose to apply for another ICO (of another company) by another name (your brother's) but with the same address, then there shouldn't be any issues.

Understand this: sharing of customers' personal data between companies is prohibited by law in most countries. So, if you have any problems, you can sue them (and you should, they never should have played with your privacy and your trust in them!).

Re: Everything about Friendz ICO!

The thing I like about Friendz is that they have a working product. Their platform is running and it has already attracted a lot of users. Their reviews are excellent, there is a lot of hype behind them, but I don't think that there will be huge gains after the ICO. I see it more like a long-term investment.

Other than that, I really, really doubt that this thread belongs here. This is the bitcoin section. You can find the altcoin discussions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0

As a matter of fact, you can find a lot more information on their official thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2815966.0
