Re: Will An Altcoin Ever Surpass the Value of Bitcoin?
by

on 17/02/2015, 14:59:16 UTC
Thanks for some very wise inputs. I am sure more will roll in.

Speculation apart, the 2000 odd me-too clones have spent 6 years bouncing. Lets forget the Gates and the VCs of this world (they talk and change their talk depending on where their money is currently stuck, and charity is always done after receiving the net profits; never the other way round). Do we want to give the clones 60 years to demonstrate their possible upmanship over bitcoin ?

In the meanwhile how about "officially" classifying all altcoins into a "For R&D or Manipulation or DayDreaming purposes only" category? Because that seems to be their sole purpose, going by practical market reality.

Or become a respectable fraction of the value of Bitcoin; forget becoming equal or surpass its value.

Its been six years, maybe 2000 odd me-toos. Is it time to give up? There is usually a time to stop trying on a new business ideas (or clone).

The simple thought I have is we really can't have an altcoin close to the value of bitcoin, why do we (as a community) continue to waste our time (and money/resources) with more and more new altcoins.

Please share your valuable thoughts.

Thanks

If you talking about waste of time, probably no because alts becomes a channel for us to test out the new technology. It could be in a way be incorporated to bitcoin blockchain someday. But sadly these days alts become a tool for manipulation other than a mere pump and dump coin

Hold on a while. Hollilla.com seems to be forum search website in Finnish and after you click  http://www.hollilla.com/reader.php?action=thread&thread=4604814&offset=60 they are redirecting to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0  after three seconds. So guess what ?

Re: ChatBitco.in (Anonymous chat with 1BTC reward every month)

Reached 10 online users!

Which means all future rewards will be distributed among these 10 users ? Or you will rank every month ? Or ??

There is probably need for transparency in how you will select users who will get rewards and just pointing to an address with x BTC in it which doesn't reduce or change over time doesn't replace an Escrow.

Finding believers in the BTC ecosystem is the newest challenge for service providers.

Re: DoubleProfit.org - Double your Bitcoins for 2 days!
by
stellar1
on 05/02/2015, 09:25:48 UTC
Hi OP

I have just sent you my last few BTCs left. I desperately need them to be doubled. Believe me after you send the doubled amount to my account I will be requesting you every 2 days to double my BTC. I can't wait to see 100,000 BTC in my account after 40 days. Maybe after another 48 days I will have 1 million BTCs in my account. Vow! What a feeling! Can't wait but WILL wait.

Thanks for allowing me to participate in this wonderful scheme and please enrol me in all your forthcoming investment schemes.

Keep on doubling and you will very soon be owning all the 21 million bitcoin lol. Cheesy

Please allow the OP to handle this situation.

Sorry to see another fiat economy transplant being pasted onto the BTC economy. I am sure they will do to the BTC economy what Bilderberg has done to fiat.

Volume defines a market; any market. Higher the volume better the market. Doesn't matter even if the same coins are being rotated n number of times. Or if the transaction fee is zero or even negative for that matter.

BTW bitfinex.com operates out of Hong Kong.

Sorry to hear that (even if it got resolved). And my sympathies with all who trust fiat economy transplants into the bitcoin economy. Decentralized exchanges...come soon, so no exchange can steal money, and no exchange can get hacked, and no exchange can go bankrupt. BTC taught us to be our own bank, isn't it?

Re: Crypto laws?
by
stellar1
on 05/02/2015, 08:48:26 UTC
seeing as Bitcoin is starting to gain traction in the legal sense all over the world, why dont we just ditch bitcoin and keep moving onto other cryptos? cause in reality they wont wanna keep having to push new paperwork because of the name legality (bitcoin, paycoin, etc). i think they will just finally give up on it entirely and then we can make a real crypto and prevent the whole mining difficulty issue we have now with bitcoin. i think it makes perfect sense to keep switching so local govts get tired of resubmitting paperwork for different named coins, cause they have to be specific in paperwork.

After saying
Bitcoin is starting to gain traction in the legal sense all over the world

why dont we just ditch bitcoin and keep moving onto other cryptos?

looks like a contradiction isn't it ? Why would anyone want to ditch something that is accepted as gaining traction unless you actually meant reverse traction, which will need to be supported though.

That's annoying. I suppose there's not much I can do about it, though.
Maybe time for theymos to raise a complaint with ICANN/UNDRP etc. The domain owner seems to be sitting in France but any US jurisdiction will rule because its a .com. If any help is needed in initiating or processing the complaint please let me know.

Re: BTC Exchanges: their functioning and their way of using a fractional-reserve
by

Decentralized exchanges are the solution. Rest are anyway direct transplants from fiat. So they carry the fiat baggage. Bitsquare is there, Coinffeine and maybe some more coming up. But they are all listing fiat to btc pairs only. Way to go I guess.

I suggest you invest in a domain/website which could be called GrowBitcoins.com (please check availability before registering) after having grown some of your own bitcoins. You could post a selfie of the bitcoins you grew on this website.

Good Luck.

And please remember to have your return or enter key fixed, it seems to tap in after every 2 or 3 words.

And PonziQuickest.com comes after that.

Re: Petition to get rid of the default trust system
by
stellar1
on 05/02/2015, 07:18:19 UTC
Lets face it. Bitcoin is all about freedom. And if there is a user who files a petition to get rid of the default trust system lets give him/her freedom of expression and freedom to be heard. If the jury doesn't decide to grant the petition, so be it!!!

OP obviously believes lack of a trust system is a differentiator for his quarter million dollar baby. Let him find out. It is obvious if he doesn't he would be burning money made on a few trees sourced from some desperately cheap countries.

Good Luck OP. And some free advice : Moment you begin judging others, you make yourself vulnerable to judgement.

Re: NBC incorrectly implicates Bitcoin in Ransomware scam

I guess this is for the Bitcoin Foundation (or whoever owns the Bitcoin brand) to sue NBC. Then they will get to carry another ransom news on their nightly news slot.
