Re: All Alt Coins are a scam.
by

Indeed there is a small sect that say that are all alt-coins are scams, but those guys usually are no clue what alt coins really are and think they are just Bitcoin rip-off currencies, when in reality a large majority of them do have some unique features. And of course, there are the tokens, which should not be compared to coins, as those usually are specific for a platform and do have a reason to exist.

Platforms like ETH and NEO allowed to foster an ecosystem completely impossible to imagine on something like Bitcoin.
Of course, we can also say that there lots of scams in the market, and that's true, thats why doing proper investigation not only about usage of a coin but also the team, roadmap etc is extremely important

Re: best NEO ICOS to invest in
by

on 25/04/2018, 20:19:49 UTC
Here's my personal top of upcoming NEO ICOs:

  • Moonlight - A decentralized Linkedin with some data learning on top.
  • Phantasma - A decentralized storage for NEO dApps like email.
  • nOS - This one is like a decentralized browser.
  • NEX - A decentralized exchange with support for fiat gateways.

All of those are teams with guys from City of Zion, so I can expect success right there.

Re: Best Exchange Coin?

KCS used to be a great option but Kucoin decided to suspend the referal system of the exchange, which was part of their whitepaper, so at this point I would not be suprised if they changed how Kucoin shares work

Re: how can smart contracts give more value to a currency?
by
sushimon
on 04/10/2017, 02:53:11 UTC
Because many of the smart contracts are not obliged to have currency movements such as a smart contract autarkic voting system right? where can this contribute to the growth of ethereum? basically nothing. I ask myself why do I see everyone justifying smart contracts as a good reason for ethereum to explode in the long run. I do not think at all what the contracts are to make her go to the moon. But if you got it wrong just let me know.

If a currency has smart contracts, then that implies dApps, which in turn brings in ICO, platforms, services and lots of other things, which require that users spend the currency, thus increasing the demand.
Is that simple Smiley

Re: ICO is the best way to invest?
by
sushimon
on 14/08/2017, 23:36:33 UTC
ICO is actually one of the risk free way of making money in cryptocurrency world. Many  investors has make millions of they fiat in return by buy coin at the crowd sales. I read a story of  budy who make over $100,000 profit after investing in tezor at ico. I also read a story of a guy who  buy xem at the ico and his involvement worth  $50,000 as at the time of telling this story.

ICO risk free? Is this a joke?
How many ICOs are scams and never deliver a product, or once they hit the exchanges the tokens price drop to a price below ICO value?

It's possible to make a good return with a ICO, but certainly not risk free, far from that. It's necessary lots of research on the team, do a background check on them, read the whitepaper carefully, check if anything is plagiarized, the list goes on...

Re: NEO - The Ethereum of China (Invest before you regret)
by
sushimon
on 14/08/2017, 16:47:11 UTC
So NEO reached an ATH of 50$ yesterday.
I've seen too many people dismiss this coin as a scam, however before investing in anything its necessary to do proper investigation.

The thing about being the "chinese Etherium" does have some sense, however it is also being used as a hype machine...

NEO is not just a ETH token like most ICOs are today, but it is a coin running in a custom blockchain similar to Etherium, thats the main reason many investors like me consider this a very important coin.
Their team basically created an alternative blockchain tech, based on the weak points of ETH, and improved on their ideas.

Here's some interesting points:
  • NEO blockchain supports smart contracts like Etherium, however they are coded in C# instead of Solidity, meaning its easier to learn, as it does not require learning a custom language
  • Instead of spending NEOs to run the smart contracts, you spend GAS that is generated by holding NEOs in your wallet. This basically incentives persons to not sell their NEOS, and it is a form of an inflation system.
  • While talking about inflation, let's say that Etherium is basically unlimited, however NEOs and GAS are both capped to a couple millions.
So in the long run we could see ETH price going down while NEO should keep going up.

Now not everything is sweet, so here's so points to think about:

  • The number of NEOs is limited, however the devs currently hold half of them. While NEOs cant be mined, we can consider this a form of premine.
The devs guarantee that this NEOs will be used for development / investment and that they wont give away more than an certain ammount per year.
  • Rumours about the project only having 2 devs. In theory yes, but in reality there is also City of Zion which is a western open-source group dedicated to improving the NEO ecosystem. And lets not forget that most of the big projects like Bitcoin or Litecoin never had that many devs in the beginning.

I hope this info is useful for those wandering if they should invest or no.

Candidate for Portuguese translations here, I'm a native speaker with technical background, I can translate the whitepaper and anything else necessary.
Promising project, and very professional presentation, let's see how this pans out.

Re: What do you think about the one of the top 10 coins - NEO?
by
sushimon
on 09/08/2017, 21:31:06 UTC
I'm going all in with NEO, pity that I was going to join when it was still Anshares at 3$ but backed out with doubt.

I think it is a very solid coin, and one of the top contenders of 2017. It is a custom blockchain done in C#, supports smart contracts (written in C# too, devs dont need to learn a custom language like Solidy).
Also it is capped unlike ETH, which pratically forces the price to up long term. Besides that owning NEO generates GAS that can be sold, so thats too a solid plus.

Currently the only western exchange with it is Bittrex, but once it hits larger exchanges it will bloom ever more.

Re: NEO vs GAS?
by
sushimon
on 09/08/2017, 21:04:57 UTC
Warning: Bittrex does not give NEO owners GAS, they actually are keeping all gas to themselves.

For that sole reason I recommend anyone dont invest in GAS at all, since Bittrex is probably sitting on a very large ammount of them that they can dump anytime.

Binance is alternative exchange that gives the generated GAS to NEO owners, however the best way is obviously having the NEO in wallet owned by yourself Smiley

Re: Your thoughts on SIA Coin [SC]

My opinion is that this coin had a promising tech with potential, and I've been waiting one month, following the dev team and any news.
Sadly the price seems to be tanking, and that will drive off many potential investors.

Storj appearing is also a gamer changer, but at this point, its difficult to decide which one will be the winner (and since the idea behind the tech itself is actually quite interesting, I can see some new spins on it appearing soon from other coins).

I lowered the payout threshold down to 1 MAGA for now. Once I update the site to show current unconfirmed vs confirmed balance and make it easier to track how close you are to reaching the threshhold then I will update it back to the original 50 MAGA payout threshold

Everyone who had shares pending and only mined for 1-2 hours should see your payments come in, I saw a bunch of addresses with a balance between 10-30 MAGA so all of those should pay out now.

Thanks, I confirm I now received some magas. However it seems now its already required to have a very powerful rig to get any interesting ammount Sad

My address even does not appear on the website.

How many shares you found already?
It seems the address is only reported after the miner reports a few shares

However I'm not receiving any payments even after a couple hours...

I too mined for around 30 minutes, saw my address in the workers list, but it then disappeared and I never more saw it there again, any clue why?
I did receive some magacoins in my wallet after a bit though...
