Re: When gambling what do you measure? Luck or chances?
by
swogerino
on 23/07/2025, 15:30:17 UTC
Different gambling activities have different chances attached to them and when I mean chances I am referring to the probability you have for actually win the bet or hit the jackpot in games like crash and slots. This is basically because sometimes unrealistic bets can sometimes play out as a win and some other times bets that have a high winning chance can eventually become the losing bet.

I believe people who gamble on sports may understand this better since sometimes in sports betting some gambler's prefer to go for the smaller odds that usually have a higher winning chance and sometimes they can still end up a losing game however some prefer to go for the big game with big odds and smaller winning chances.

What's usually your pick as a gambler since sometimes some persons are luckier than others?

I prefer to leave it to lady luck which for me dresses always in black meaning I never meet her, only people who see her in green are real winners yet I keep trying in slot machines for the simple reason that if it only hits once a big win you get it instantly and no need to wait like in sport betting. I know some people may look like they have more luck than others as I saw someone back in early 2000-s playing the Play&Win slot machine a lot and he started with 1000 usd which was a lot at that time for starting balance and he used to bet no more than 0.6 usd per bet, he always got the max win of the game for some months and people thought this guy is really lucky but after some months he lost it all in the same machine. What I want to say is that there is no real lucky persons, luck is only temporary.

Re: How quickly do you forget a loss
by

Every loss in gambling should be seen as a way for gamblers to gain experience so that they do not repeat the same mistake in the future. You may not follow the same process that you followed when you lost the next time or you may engage in gambling in a slightly different way. The wounds of losing and losing money in gambling take a long time to heal if you do not get another win. So I keep playing again to forget that moment of loss and feel peace in the wound after I win.

What guarantees you that you are going to win after a certain amount of losing sessions as this is very dangerous to do because this is number one cause that have put people in heavy addiction. I would not suggest to anyone to chase losses as a win will calm your wounds that you took during your losing sessions for the simple reason that this win may never come or come after a very long time in the best case scenario. Only gamble or continue gambling as long as you are doing so with money that you can afford to lose because only this way addiction will never reach you. As long as you use money you can afford to lose nothing bad will happen.

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?
by
swogerino
on 23/07/2025, 08:32:30 UTC
I assume that people come to the gambling industry as inexperienced people. And in the process of their activities, they gradually learn from their mistakes. Unfortunately, some of these mistakes are dramatic and cause us quite serious psychological trauma. As a rule, this is due to gross errors and stupid persistent beliefs that push us to the edge of the financial abyss.

First of all, this is risk management and money management. The second is probably unsystematic play. Let me make a reservation that I do not mean casinos, as well as people playing "for fun". I mean sports betting.
So, how much did your mistakes cost? Did they cause you a serious psychological blow? What were your mistakes, did you learn from these mistakes and do you apply this knowledge in practice now? Were these mistakes simply painful, dramatic or catastrophic?

I think in sport betting mistakes do not cost as much as the mistakes people make when playing slot machines. There is that saying that goes, experience is the sum of all errors that we make as  the only people who do not make mistakes are the people that don't do anything in life. Personally I have been doing a lot of mistakes during my gambling years and luckily I have been far from catastrophic though some dramatic ones I have commit. I have learned a lot from such mistakes and now I am not gambling that much anymore thanks to such mistakes. So overall mistakes are not that bad when we learn something from them and we put those lessons to good use. From what I have learned in slots is that they are not truly random as they are advertised rather they have some patterns which they abide by.

Re: Does the novelty wear off?

If you are extremely rich and you can just gamble up to your heart's content, does the novelty of winning wear off? Like would you get tired of gambling since there's really not much risks because you can gamble with any amount and still receive little to no consequences?

I doubt these people gamble. I know when I used to work in a huge business before and the boss together with his family he used to get to exotic locations like Monaco and other casino related places like Las Vegas yet they gambled very little and didn't feel the winning side of things. So rich people do not really enjoy gambling unless some very addicted people who are ill from gambling addiction and there is no real recovery for them at all no matter what they do, there is the story of that man with Japanese like name that I don't remember now who build an empire with business and lost in some years by gambling. So the novelty of winning for normal rich people is not there and they don't give the slightest f*ck about what happens to their money when gambling. I have been in a trip with my boss to Monaco several years ago and I felt the excitement of gambling while the boss family didn't feel any of it.

Hopefully it is like 2008 and not like 2021 where Hamilton won a super great race or it was 2012 don't remember well but what I remember is the fight against Raikkonen so it must have been 2008 where rain started and during the race we have seen a lot of spins, out of track and different battles between McLaren and Ferrari at that time, so I hope it is like that race and not that of 2021 where we only had 2 laps and the race was considered finished in full because of extremely heavy rain, at such conditions it was normal not to race, visibility was zero. It would be a shame if we don't have a full race here as just after this race we have another, maybe Hungaroring and then we are going on vacation so we need to see such action and I pray we are going to see a beautiful race.

Re: Which is more regrettable?
by
swogerino
on 22/07/2025, 14:25:09 UTC
Let's say when gambling, you follow a specific pattern. Let us use lottery for example. You bet on the same specific set of numbers. What would be more regrettable? Betting on the same set of numbers for the rest of your life and not winning or... changing up the set you bet on only for your old set to win?

Basically, would you rather bet on the same thing again and again then regret not exploring more or explore different kinds of bets then miss out on a win?

From this perspective I think the person should continue his trend on betting the same numbers over and over again and never regret doing it no matter the final outcome that can be several years of losing and never win it. If you change and then your numbers win this is a regret that will only go away when the soul of the person will go away meaning when the person dies. It is a feeling most persons will have for life that is why I never suggest to change what you have been doing for years. In the end in gambling everything is regrettable when it comes to losing money, that is an universal feeling that no human being likes to experience.

Re: man up and stop blaming casinos
by
swogerino
on 22/07/2025, 09:15:19 UTC
This is great advice for not only casinos, but life. Too many people blame others for influencing their actions instead of blaming themselves for blindly following people without thinking. You don’t have to gamble. I would say a majority of the times I’ve been in a casino I didn’t gamble. It isn’t hard.

Well may be it isn't hard in a physical casino yet in the software web casinos operating in crypto is very difficult to detain yourself, I did though I put some firewall rules in place and have not touched gambling ever since but without such enforcing policy for me is near impossible to stay out of gambling. I am man enough to not blame the casino as they didn't point a gun to my head and told me to spend every penny that I have in their platform, it was a decision of mine and I am the only one to be blamed. Most people though never take into account themselves and always do take into account others, I have made a joke for such persons "they organize the blaming event, they organize the event and others are to blame".

Finally a race week!  Grin  One of my favourite tracks, Spa is up next. The race here last season went pretty interesting. Hamilton wasn't even in top 3 after qualifying but made it to the win anyway.

Do you think he'll get that lucky this time? Honestly I don't expect such result. Another McLaren win awaits us in the circumstances. As for which driver, I'm favouring Norris for now because of his impressive form lately.

Spa a wonderful track but honestly here always the best car wins and as such I have no doubts a McLaren car under normal circumstances is going to win this race. I also am in favor of Norris because of the track being extremely technical and long so I doubt Piastri would be running better than Norris here though anything can happen. We take this for granted that McLaren will win but Ferrari have been showing some super strong performance in Silverstone during normal conditions, the rain ruined it completely for them so I need to see any good battles between McLaren and Ferrari. Redbull I don't expect anything from them as they are going from bad to worse.

Re: Have you been addicted to gambling in the past.
by

on 21/07/2025, 20:23:45 UTC
This question is for those gamblers that were once addicted to gambling and was able to come out from addiction.

How did you go about it?

Was someone there to help you out or you took the bold step all alone?

How long did your addiction last?

What's your best advice to gamblers fighting with addiction?

I was and I was for a couple of years to the say the truth. First time I decided to quit it was a personal not bold but smart move I would say, I looked at how many consecutive lost buy bonus I had in a session and it was an extremely high number enough to tell me that this is going nowhere and stopped in the early January of this very year we are in, 2025. I did well for six months and then a new game came out which the mechanics were promising and so decided to come out of my shell and give it a try, I started enjoying it, in fact I reminded myself like those anonymous alcoholics when they go somewhere after rehab and are offered a glimpse of alcohol, at the beginning they say no but if people insist they start drinking saying "good oh" and so I behaved like these. The same happened though as the game was from the same provider. This time I added firewall rules to my main machine and it is almost two weeks without gambling, have used cryptos for other purposes.

Re: gambling in strict countries
by
swogerino
on 21/07/2025, 16:46:41 UTC
i saw a post here once asking about whether banning gambling will actually solve some problems. well even with gambling deemed illegal, it has not completely disappeared from a country. for example, in north korea gambling is illegal for its citizens.

but there are still gambling events that take place most often organized by some authorities or really rich and powerful people. i guess that making gambling illegal is just a way to make it less accessible to the general public but the rich always finds a way.

there was even a case where north koreans are targeting foreigners and selling them their own made gambling platforms. North Korean IT workers created and sold thousands of illegal gambling websites to South Korean criminals to raise billions of dollars

keep in mind that gambling is also illegal in south korea. so my point is, everyone eventually finds a way.

Exactly to ban completely the online gambling is totally impossible nowadays, cryptocurrency casinos makes it even more difficult as just using a VPN and a pseudo-anonymous wallet of most cryptocurrencies will probably bypass all the restriction put in place by the country wanting to ban gambling all together. Even in Saudi Arabia people gamble, yet they don't do it openly but only when they are at home, I have an ex colleague working there and he told me he and some other colleagues of him are gambling easily with just a VPN and cryptocurrency wallet. If it happens in such restrictive countries I doubt it is anywhere impossible to gamble, the only thing governments achieve with banning of things is giving criminals a way to make it more accessible to people for a higher fee and as such for them is just a business.

Re: Trading business vs. gambling business in crypto
by
swogerino
on 21/07/2025, 09:37:18 UTC
Today I was browsing websites of old, inactive cryptocurrencies and noticed that some of the domains are now taken over by online casinos. Honestly, wherever you look in the crypto world, you stumble upon gambling businesses. It really feels like this is the most profitable niche right now.

I came to finance through forex brokers, and I still remember people telling me: “Forex is like a casino - except in a casino, at least you can win.”

To me, running a financial market always seemed more profitable than running a casino.
But in crypto, is it the other way around? Are casinos making more money than trading platforms?

I think casinos are making much more than any trading platform in the crypto world. The reason is simple, people love to make money and also fast, they also prefer to not wait like what will happen with EUR/USD pair and act accordingly to profit a bit, nowadays people want immediate results and such results are only available in a casino. Another reason are these streamers promoting these instantly big wins that they are hitting when playing in their favorite casino, something totally absent from the trading counterparts, in trading I watch only "how to" videos which are not at all fun to watch and don't inspire like the streamers do. I think these are enough reasons as why casinos are doing better than the trading industry.

Re: How can you enjoy the game when you are losing?
by

on 21/07/2025, 08:33:51 UTC
There is no fun in losing except some adrenaline that you may get from huge near misses during your play session. There is no fun at all when you are losing your balance for the simple reason that everyone when they start their gambling session they are not starting it to have fun but to win money and no one is really enjoying seeing their balance draining out. Sometimes during our gambling session we can hit a huge win which can make our brain a lot of dopamine and it may look like we are having fun for the moment but as soon as we lose our balance different emotions hit us, sadness and rage are what we feel at this stage. Thus I must say there is no real fun while you are losing your balance.

Re: How do you see slots game?
by

on 21/07/2025, 07:29:00 UTC
I recently hit a crazy multiplier x5601 on Sweet Bonanza. Just a small bonus buy and ended up winning $400 after the x1000 bomb dropped and hit. I’ve been enjoying it since then, though I don’t spend a lot of hours playing.

But ever since that win, it kinda feels like I’m slowly giving the money back. Been losing around $10 a day for the past week. I’m still in profit, but honestly, I’m starting to lose the excitement. The game doesn’t feel the same anymore.

That is how slot works in general and especially Pragmatic slots, they give you a couple of big wins like the one posted here and then a lot of the upcoming sessions will eat your money. Don't know if you had observed it but Pragmatic goes exactly where they left off and pick up there meaning they know exactly what have happened before, any new session is not really independent of each other in Pragmatic unless you change currency to start a new session. That is how it goes in the end, you end up losing a lot more money than you have ever won in the long run and there is nothing you can do to change this behavior. I think x5601 is not that a really huge multiplier and with games with super bonus buy is just a normal one.

Re: How quickly do you forget a loss
by

on 21/07/2025, 06:14:04 UTC
It depends on the type of loss. I would forget very easily a loss where I have deposited 25 dollars and I did like 5 super bonus buys of 5 dollars each, this is achievable with IDR as currency to buy the super bonus with 5 dollars in most Pragmatic games and lost all of such buys. What I won't forget easily is again a deposit of 25 dollars and start with bonus buys again but this time I go up to 800 dollars and because of the greed I lose everything. This is something very hard to forget as I had all the options to get a withdraw and get away, even enjoy some of that money. These type of lost sessions are very difficult to forget as you completely mess up yourself and this is very difficult to get past, you keep saying to yourself, I have to stop and you can't.

For us neutrals anyway, we'd love for someone to give that a try. I don't think drivers are beholden to team loyalty the way footballers are -- would love to see that sort of mixing up next season.
No they are not, but I always remember and connect legendary drivers with F1 teams.
For example  I always think of Michael Schumacher as Ferrari driver in red suit, but in the early F1 days he was in Benetton team, and in later days he was in Mercedes GP Petronas team.

Mick Schumacher is said to be joining Cadillac next season in 2026, no confirmation of contract as of yet but the talks are going very well I have seen official F1 Instagram pages. The drivers are always there in the team which treats them better and they are always hoping to be in the winning car during each season, therefore you can't have any driver like Maldini or Zanetti in Serie A, both captains and players of only one team and never "cheated" or betrayed them for a better team, in Formula 1 this is simply not possible as every driver wants to win the Championship and they are always eager to be trying to get in the winning car if they are not already there. The drama though is now in Redbull team and Mercedes as if one driver like Versappen wants to move to Mercedes than everything is disrupted in Mercedes team, also in Redbull space remains open for other drivers.

Re: How is wealth distributed through Gambling
by
swogerino
on 20/07/2025, 10:21:40 UTC
Money runs gambling. It gets transferred from a point to another. From the poor to the wealthy, from the wealthy to the poor.

Let's first talk about how the poor gives the money to the wealthy.... They allocate a huge part of their money (which isn't a lot in the first place) to gambling thinking that this would be the quick fix to their problems. This is how they give the money to the wealthy in this case the casino owners.

But the money can also go from the wealthy to the poor. If the tax from casinos gets collected by the government and is used effectively, it can help a lot of those in need. The money can be used to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare and etc.

That is the main idea when the government taxes the casinos in the first place but the problem is that I find it very hard to find a government that is today not corrupted in our world where we live in, yes even the big ones, in fact they are more corrupted than small ones and that is why for example in US there is no free healthcare, the taxes are flowing somewhere else and this is just one example of corruption from a big country. Now for the poor that is their own mistake which they keep repeating expecting different results which can be called insanity as Einstein said. The poor people gambling are much more dangerous to the society than the corruption going on in government offices as the poor playing are directly hitting their life to misery, they should stop in order to start and improve on what they have.

Re: When you're winning you can't sleep
by
swogerino
on 20/07/2025, 09:22:59 UTC
I have seen one interview of a former gambler and what he is saying caught my attention. He says that "when you're winning you can't sleep". I'm not sure if others have experience it or if this make sense. In any case though, one explanation is that we are really in a heightened alert, meaning it's like gambling is like a drugs that keeps up alive and awake and then the human emotions of greed takes in as we want to win for. But the problem is that after that, and in worse case if our luck turns bad, then this drug will like shoot to 100->0 in a instant. Or like when we are about to go to bed and suddenly that inch comes along and let's say that we go on sports bet, but the game will start in the next couple of hours, then we might have difficulty in sleeping and as if we take like 4 cups of coffee or a energy drink because we will for sure can't wait to see that game and hope that our stakes is going to win.

He is right. Normally when you have won a decent substantial amount of money you cannot sleep that easily. I have experienced it myself, I have won and could not sleep thinking all the good things I could do with that money and in the end I woke up the next morning and lose it all. This is what happens to most gamblers as they don't know to control their emotions, greed prevails because it is instilled deep in our DNA, like religious saying goes "human is never fulfilled, if he had a mountain of gold, he will ask for another one and if he has two he will ask for the third, only dust fulfills his mouth" meaning the human being is always asking for more no matter how much money they have. This I don't know how it can be fixed, I have started watching Dave Ramsey shows and his advice is somewhat good though not definitive.

By the way the new race week is finally upon us. 3 weeks is a really big time period for a break. I have more bad news. After having 2 races in 2 weeks there is going to be another break. This time it is going to be 4 weeks. Tongue

Let's just enjoy the Belgian and Hungarian GP until then. By the way there is a fresh rumour like Cadillac is going to announce Sergio Perez as one of their drivers after the Hungarian GP. The other one is still ambiguous.

Those for weeks will pass easily as most of us will be on vacation too on August, we that live in Europe I mean as in Argentina there is winter now I believe. So those will hopefully pass fast while these 2 weeks without races have been very boring, I don't know if there is MotoGP tomorrow to make up somewhat in seeing some racing action. At least these two races are back to back so we will have enough of action before drivers get their annual vacation, a well deserved I think in August for them so when they come back for the second half of the season they are fully recharged. This season has no surprise as who will be winning everything so from that point of view we are not expecting any changes.

Re: Visited physical casinos to have real life experience and guess what?
by
swogerino
on 19/07/2025, 17:00:59 UTC
I visited the physical casinos to do some comparison since most people often says that physical casinos are transparent while for me I think the online are more trustworthy than physical casinos if not for kyc and withdrawal issues. The images below showed a casino game I tried to gamble on..

Well, I have never played a 40 lucky lines game before but as I asked the agent who is in charge for assistance and i funded and started playing the game, though I feels the real fun there playing the game as I was interacting with people unlike the online casino, though I didn't see how the physical casino is more transparent than online because I actually funded with 500# and I bet with 40# and then turn it into automatic rollover, though I was having the fun while the games was rolling to my surprise I just noticed that my account was drained and there was no much winning, though I won two but lesser than wagered amount decided to continue if I could boost it.

And yes, since it's my first time visiting there, I was happy seeing people gamble over there and having good time with the music playing on the casino hall, and this only makes it interesting.

About transparency as people much preached about physical casinos I didn't see any difference, in fact I wasn't that even sure that physical casinos aren't rigged or adjusted to favor the casino owners and the operators.

What is your thoughts.. do you think both are the same or physical casinos are more transparent than the online casinos? Let discussion wisely.

The software ones are better of course as they have no rent to pay, no energy though energy can be paid also by software companies by keeping their servers online, also people serving drinks in physical casinos add the costs of operating, the machines are physical and a flaw the technical guys will come in to fix adding to the cost. The software casino links their site to the game providers and have almost 0 downtime because the providers operate their own servers and are responsible to keep things going there making software casinos not have such costs. Overall the benefits of the software ones are the huge number of slot machines, the huge number of games and any other game which the physical casinos cannot have, like the crash game for example. So the only better thing physical casinos have is the feeling to go somewhere and have fun.

Re: Is There No Good Side Of Gambling?
by
swogerino
on 19/07/2025, 13:54:11 UTC
They will only realize the bad side of it when they're no longer winning and they're spending too much already.

There come a lot of realization at the end and it's true that it will be their choice that they need to do if it's gonna be worth it for them to do more or force themselves to control it.

This is normal reaction if you don’t gamble what you can afford since every lose will counts and will turn into giant disappointment once player sum all their losses.

But if you play responsibly, even if you keep losing you will not view gambling all negatively because you knew winning days will come soon since gambling is just almost balance between losing and winning if we will just have fun.

I doubt the way you play will influence if winning will come sooner or later, in fact in my opinion and from what I have seen from different people and type of gamblers I have noticed a similar pattern, usually the win comes first to those playing with a much fatter balance than those playing with a slim balance. Now in here I am talking about the max win or a huge win and these usually do not happen to people playing with minimum bet like I used to do for a lot of years and I still have never seen MAX WIN on my screen despite playing from so many years. That must be the reason, the low bet as I also have seen a lot of time the people playing with a big bet are getting the max win, I don't know now, maybe because they have lost a lot before or the game has just been programmed this way, it is just the way it is. So for me gambling has no good to people playing what they cannot afford to lose and also playing with a low bet.
