Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool detects latest poclbm.exe as destructive tool. Have that in mind when running a scan.

Soon ARM processors will match the PS3 performance or even surpass it. I suppose it the power consumption will be extremely low compared to the 120w@full load of the PS3.

Since i run linuxbox... i don't really care. But most of the miners are using windows based rigs and...  Imagine of the hashing power unprotected.

My experience show that some cards (including mine) are not stable at 400 memory, so you better run it at 300 or 500, 600.
To the author of the thread, if are using single card, go for saphire trixx Smiley

Not at all. Mining on PCIe x1 is like mining on x16. You can mine even with USB if you have the controller, but it's not worth it since the price is very high.

That's the point. With a higher risk on initial investment, you have a greater potential reward. Say you buy $8k worth of BTC for $14 and sell for $17. You get much more out of that than buying $100 of BTC.

No, I'm saying BTCGuild is down (or not at full capacity), so that's why it appears as though deepbit has 50% of the hashing power.  If BTCGuild was running properly, deepbit would be at 40% or so.

And I don't hate deepbit.  I mine on deepbit myself as well.  I've tried other pools, and nothing has matched the consistency and information available at deepbit.  I just like it best.

Self aware you say... a large botnet would need all the processing power it possess in order to achieve even a basic  counciousness if you are talking about some kind of AI.
In the other hand... even if the botnets make mining useless, BTC will continue to exist, we just shutdown our mining rigs or donate the power to F@H or Seti.
