Re: When is Tezos hitting the exchanges?

01/2018 Tezos will hitting the exchanges

As much as I would like to see Tezos produce a token I don't have much faith at this point. 2 US based class action suits against them currently and a whole slew of negative press. I went into the ICO with some play money (32 ETH) so am not out as much as a lot of friends but it still stings. I read recently (not confirmed as of yet) there was a contractual obligation to deliver a toke to 1 of 3 major exchanges (Polo, Bittrex, and another I don't remember) by 12/28/17 or they had to refund tokens to ICO holders. I think the best thing would be to see the refund from a financial prospect (just my opinion).

The Pre ICO / Futures trading you see on one  exchange is not even close to actual value representation. The PAY / TenX ICO had futures on the same site that were up to 90 USD per token prior to launch. On launch day it crashed down to 18 USD within minutes and then met the same price of the actual tokens within a few hours. There were people who lost a LOT of money on that. I had also gone into that ICO and was pretty excited while following the ICO prices. Seeing how it played out taught me that the ICO value on that one exchange is nothing more than a pipe dream and unfortunate way to deceive people who may not realize what they are actually buying. As I understand the exchange in question has secured an amount of the tokens and the Pre ICO trading is backed with the idea that once a token is released you are entitled to get the number of tokens that match the number of ICO tokens you buy on their exchange. I have yet to see a single Pre ICO token get redeemed at even a fraction of the trading prices. The exchange loves it because they make money off every trade so its pure profit for them regardless of how the tokens go or the value holds. Don't get me wrong, its a smart move on the exchanges behalf but it just feels wrong and deceptive to me. This economy needs more honest players to continue building legitimacy. Until we get there it will be more negative news, bad bubble warnings, and exit scams. But hey, it is what it is.

Nothing would make me happier than to have to eat my words!!! This is one case where I would love to have thousands of flames pointing out I was wrong when I posted this. But I fear that won't be the case.

An airdrop was smart, generate chatter from wallet holders wondering what these tokens that just showed up are... I still think it's starting to tarnish (no offense intended) as every other post is "how do I cash these in, do they have value". Just my 2 cents of unsolicited feedback.

In my opinion, this coin doesn't have a good future.

thought the same, but I've changed my opinion and now I believe in the project

They clearly dont understand the how any of this works. This token drop and then having them sold on ED one is just spammy, but two just shows ignorance

Agreed. Just like junk mail in my postal box. Good projects don't need flash bang pop forced media attention. They speak for themselves.

I was seriously considering investing in the ICO but wanted to do a little checking up before pulling the trigger. I too saw the paid ICO news post and it sounded really good, on paper. Hearing that people are having no issue depositing and betting but can't get their money out without delays and public posts has turned me away for sure. It may not be a scam, but could simply be gross incompetence. Neither is a good sign for investing.

Great info here! I spent the first 10 years of my career at PwC and still have quite a few contacts in the office. I have sent this URL, and will send others you think are relevant if you post here, to the brand and image group. They will get to the bottom of this very quickly and ensure no "scammy" use of their brand is taking place.

Before you flame me, yes, I have screwed up bad. That being said, is there any way to fix this situation?

I sent a test to Polo from what I though was pre hf mist. It worked and I was given 13 ETC for the 13 ETH i sent along with my ETH. So I sent 400 eth but apparently something went wrong, user error I am sure. It looks like I sent 400 ETH to the polo ETC wallet address. My test worked, but the big transfer didn't. So now I can see 400 eth that was sent to the Polo ETC wallet address successfully but no conversion of any sort. this also took the ETH from my post HF wallet as well. I have a ticket with Polo open but wanted to ask if there was anything I can do on my side to recover the 400 ETH? Any ideas? I later found a splitter contract that apparently is designed to avoid this exact situation but I am a day late and a dollar short.

I am willing to offer up a reward to anyone who can help me recover. Any ideas?

ETH is not ETC - you cant send ETH to ETC wallets and vica versa they are different chains.

That's not what he means, though. He means when he sent his ETH to his Polo wallet that he sent ETH to his ETH wallet and ETC to his ETC wallet in the same transaction. He tried to replicate this with a larger transaction and didn't get the same results. So, I guess he needs to find a way to open his wallet on the other chain.

Thanks, I am in the process of syncing the chain on another pc so I can at least recover some of the ETC. The ETH appears to be sitting in the contract that Polo was using to convert, I am hopeful their support will either manally process or return. Thanks again for the suggestion. that will get the ETC, sometign is better than nothing

When will you guys change that horrible logo? It really really looks bad, especially when you go to China to promote the coin

1.: No, it doesn't. That's your taste. You want a shiny logo? Go to Waves. See how much their logo helped them.

2.: Once the gGmbH is up and running and the Lisk team can finally touch the ICO funds (which are still in escrow), they'll hire a professional design agency for a rebrand/new logo and other looky-lookie stuff.

3.: If you think the logo is shit and people don't buy Lisk because of it, look at point 2. What does it tell you? …Exactly, to buy as much Lisk as you can before the rebrand. Because, if that's what is holding Lisk back – holy moly, once the rebrand happens, we will be bathing in digital money Wink

Clearly you don't understand marketing what so ever. Having a fkn bloated starcraft mineral patch as a logo makes the project look immature and illegitimate. This is about branding, what kind of message does my brand portray. And seriously, people on this forum would do a 10x better logo for free, so the ICO funds argument id plain shit

Many pages back I made a post regarding the branding. The logo is not a biggie for me either way but you do have a point, people buy pretty things. But where I see a lot of value in your post is regarding the branding of Lisk. I have mined since 2014 and trade here and there. I mostly hold for long term investments. Lisk caught my attention as it was similar to Eth. As someone who knows little about Lisk I came here to get some info. As an adult investor I see pages of highschool memes, insults back and forth every other post, and several posts per page promising this coin will see the moon is just a few days. This undermines the brand image of the coin horribly for significant investors. Although it may not be fair or accurate it gives Lisk almost a childish perception. Every forum has troll bait and flame wars but the number of memes trying to bash Eth and assure you that Lisk is superior is harmful. The Lisk community should take steps to police its own back yard and persuade the Jr followers to cut back on the horseplay. I hold a few thousand Lisk as a "throw the dice bet" but if the community could help improve the image it would interest more serious investors IMO. In the end all coins are important. What hurts one hurts us all in one way or another. Don't think so, look at what The DAO drama did to Eth. Within hours the price dropped dramatically even though this had nothing to do with ETH. As the gold standard of crypto (BTC) continues to go mainstream we see other crypto also gain legitimacy.  Competition is great but childish banter and horseplay in public forums discredits what could be a very solid tech. Its not Lisk vs the world, its a crypto collation trying to be successful. Whats good for you typically ends up being good for me. Try supporting each other rather than tearing down. In the end we are all very similar minded people to some extent, we believe in crypto and want to see it go somewhere.

P.s. Not saying this to the OP, just taging along his post because he hit some good points. This is intended for the community.

Is there a list of all coins that can be "merged mined" somewhere? I keep finding different pools here and there that offer various combinations but would love to have an all inclusive list somewhere. Sorry in advance if this is an inappropriate question for the thread. I have looked in many places and not found an answer. Next step will be to set up my own node based on these steps. Great write up btw

Re: Why Poloniex Has Rejected SuperCoin

I am sure empty threats of having your "Chinese friends" leave the exchange, profane name calling, and crude insults will be very productive and achieve your desired result in no time flat. To be honest, if I were the site admin I would refuse to retract my comments on GP alone. Granted, a mistake may have been made, but it appears to have been an honest mistake made with the best interest of the exchange users in mind. I can understand frustrations about how this announcement may have impacted the coins profitability. Yes, that is very unfortunate and if I were holding a large sum of Smart coins I would also be very upset. But as a frequent user of the exchange in question I am rather happy to see an active admin taking time to look out for the site users. How many exchanges have been hacked? Lost BTC? Lost other user wallets? packed up shop and stolen coins? Quite a few. Seeing a site admin review a coin and take what he thought was appropriate action is a step in the right direction. If the action was mistaken then I would agree a correction would be necessary but based on the "lip" being thrown around I am not sure I would comply myself. Kudos to Poloniex for doing what they thought was right to protect users. Maybe some of the most rude people here changed their tone and tried to work WITH the person who made the statement some of the perceived damage could be mitigated. Not to be a dik but any situation can be turned to add value to a coin. Remember the old marketing saying, It matters not what they are saying, as long as they are saying something. Get off your complaining soapbox and start trying to spin this incident into a win for both sides. Its not that hard to do, but it takes teamwork... Something the Crpyto world seems to be in very short supply of these days...

It is very sad to see a coin with such potential go by the way side. Many reasons are out of our control for various factors but one reason that is the most disturbing is ego.... Not placing blame on either side of this ongoing conversatsion as I don't know the details but from the past few days of reading there is obviously ego in play. As with many other coins ego has always been such an easily avoidable risk factor that seems to be one of the major killers.

If either party has the power to be influential in this coins success I would humbly ask that you put ego aside and attempt to work together. Miners are the ones who get the shortest end of the stick in the end. Knowing the huge losses most GPU miners have taken over the past 6 months should be motivation enough to try to succeed. Coin gains value and popularity everyone wins.

I may be speaking out of place, but based on the last few comments it seems that the conversation has become less about getting things back on track and more about who is right. Just my 2 cents folks. Take what you like and leave the rest.

I too am a GRS fan but unable to mine these days due to the loss of profit. I hold about 100k for future investment but have moved on to mine more profitable coins to pay the bills. I think a merged mine option would be HUGE for any coin that comes on board. I have focused on a merged mining solution that actually has 3 coins together (won't mention the names out of respect for the GRS thread) but would kill to be able to come back to GRS with the low power Alg. What is keeping a startup from coming along and using the GRS alg and releasing 3 or 4 new coins at once that share the same blockchain as to allow for say quad merged mining? Granted all 4 coins would be new and need to be pitched to the exchanges but isn't that a possible threat? I would like to see GRS set merged mining as a high if not highest priority. That is a move that would make it possible for me to return to mining one of my favorite coins. Until then, unless the price magically runs up I fear that along with many many other small miners I won't be able to mine this great coin. It sucks guys, but in the end 99% of us are in this for the money and will follow that dragon where ever it goes. Merge this coin, which increases profit for miners and you will see more interest. Still love the coin Smiley

Hello ,
Now we are now accepting GroestlCoin as payment . Can now buy many products including mining and dressing room equipment.

Visit our website and check out our offers

http://bitscoinshop.com.br/en/

Glad to see support for the coin but anywhere charging 190 for a grid-seed is insane. You do realize Grid-seed can be purchased for 75-95 dollars all over the net these day, new... And from the vendor right? Not sure how this is a good thing. Sounds like a guy who put up a front end website and is selling overpriced items to the mining community to try to make a buck. Sure a markup is expected but over 200% is borderline thievery. Miners can make their own choices but I would suggest some research.

Buyer beware. I did not compare the non mining prices. Each mining price was easily 100% higher than current market average. I can only assume the rest of the items are also insanely overpriced. Go to an exchange, sell your GRS for BTC and then BTC to dollars and you will be MUCH BETTER OFF!

Grid-seed, new on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=gridseed&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=4161178983&ref=pd_sl_8l8xa41wdi_bb

Antminer - 18.99 Amazon... http://www.amazon.com/BITMAIN-ANTMINER-U2-Bitcoin-Overclockable/dp/B00ITD5NV6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402059037&sr=8-2&keywords=gridseed

Something smells fishy here.

Searched for an answer so if I missed it please don't hesitate to post a link to the info I am seeking.
I am using BAMT to mine vert and am quite happy. Only hitch is I am not sure how I can automate the env settings export_gpu_max blah and the other one export GPU_use blah. Up to this point I have simply issued the commands in the terminal and it works but I would really like to have this auto run when the system boots up prior to the mining auto launching. I am a total Linux noob but had this done in Windows quite easily. Is it a major undertaking in Linux / BAMT? Any help would be most welcomed. Links to info would also be fine, I don't mind doing the leg work if I have a starting point. While I am at it, thanks for all the great info here. This thread has been an amazing source of information for folks like myself who are only a few months into mining.

Another quickie, I have seen different config settings for the Queue, Scan-time, and Expiry settings. I am currently using below settings. Is this correct? I mine at Simple Vert due to the merged mining options.

queue 0
scan-time 1
expiry 30
vectors 1
lookup-gap 2

Always looking to get all the juice I can from the cards so any tips would be great. My 290s get about 440 khs stable with 410 WU and the 7950s get about 275 khs with 250 wu stable.

Which coin would you like to buy. I either have it or can get it. Save your money, putting money into something like this is like giving money to the guy holding a sign "will work for food" and expecting him to cut your grass. Message me if you are looking for coins, can use escrow to protect your funds. Much safer than this.

Not dinging the site dev but we all can't be engineers. Remember each time an exchange or other crypto currency related site is damaged, hacked, or robbed it impacts the overall legitimacy of the CC markets. When someone much more skilled than you says sorry buddy, your PM makes it obvious you are in over your head, get out now. It is a warning that more pain is coming. The sad thing is the users on the site are the ones who will feel the pain, not him. Perfect example. The recent btc loss did not come out of his pocket, it came out of every user on the site paying for his mistakes. Until that money is refuneded to each person and the slate is clean this site deserves to be on the "dirty dining' list of exchanges. Hey, now that is a site to make! The rate site of scam pools and exchanges. Sort of like a chamber of commerce (without the political ties) for our currency markets.

Can I deposit BTC and trade? If I do, will a part of those BTCs be eaten too?

Bump. I want to know this too.

If I deposit 1BTC, will I get 1BTC in my Poloniex account or will Poloniex deduct 12% from the 1BTC?

If you have to ask that question why are you even considering sending funds to that exchange?

For me, if I had to question the outcome of my deposit on to an exchange I would not be using them. Period.

Because they are the only exchange which lists the coin I want to buy?

People are not stupid. If they want to put in money after being aware of the risk, there must be some big potential gain.
