Welp as an investor, I lost 2.5 of my 3 bitcoins. I came home from an exhausting workday to find the bankroll had been eaten alive, therefore me making a larger % of the roll, had lost 2.5 bitcoins to this "Mateo". Before leaving for work, I had a decent profit.

As a college student, this is a lot of money to me, especially considering I bought at $900+

This type of shenanigans makes me want turn my back on Bitcoin. Its been nothing but a massive money pit - I lose money at every turn. Dooglus is the light in a dark environment. He provided trust to a trust-less system. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, helpful and ran a service that was second-to-none. He is one of the most respectful figures I've seen in the Bitcoin space. After I found out he was promoting a new site I could invest in, well, my ears perked up.

I should have known better than to chase after "the next Just-Dice". I have only myself to blame for losing more than I could have afforded to. I took a stupid risk.

Re: Why is Litecoin so cheap?

There are supposed to be four times more litecoins (84 million) than bitcoins (21 million) so with everything else being equal, Litecoin should cost 1/4 that of Bitcoin. But Litecoin is currently trading at about 10 dollars each while Bitcoin is trading at around 400-500 dollars each which makes it undervalued by a factor of 10.

Has it got something to do with the distribution curve (ie. more litecoins are produced in the first few years compared to Bitcoin)?

Namecoin has the same specs as bitcoin - 21 million coins. It is currently at $2.

Namecoin is undervalued!! With all things being equal, Namecoin should equal Bitcoin's price and be $450 right now.

/sarcasm.

DGBpool is a known scampool, don't mine there.
DGBpool is a known goodpool, lets mine there.

I, and others, agree with DGBpool being a scam pool.

I mined Cinni on that pool (3 day stage for POW) and as soon as the POW stage ended, they supposedly got "hacked" and my coins were gone. Crappyass pool.

For the love of God, I never understand why every single flippin coin community wants their coin added to cryptsy asap-or-else!!!. Cryptsy is the graveyard. Cryptsy prematurely ends the life-cycle of almost every coin. Why do you guys want this coin added to that site before we even have an endorsement from Bill Murray himself??

What makes things worse is the freakin stupid voting system (as if he doesn't get enough btc from fees). No longer do you have to research and spend time looking for your next targeted coin to invest in. Now, just check Cryptsy's voting page and you see whats the top demanded coin. It takes a lot of speculation out of a speculative venture

This is why I have seen every single flippin coin in the top of the voting list get a nice big price pump and then, as soon as the coin hits cryptsy, there is nothing but blood. The saying is "buy on the rumor, sell on the news." Essentially, this is translated to "Buy on the rumor of it being added to Cryptsy, and sell on its addition to cryptsy." We saw this with litecoin a few weeks ago. It was being added to huobi and there was a nice big ol' pump from $13 to $21 and the very second Huobi added it, it was dumped to all holy hell. Litecoin is now at $11, so that just proves that being added to the highest volume exchange does not have immediate impact except for a get-rich-quick type of pump and dump.

Seriously, guys...think before wanting this coin to hit cryptsy yet. Let's let this coin run its course before meeting an unwarranted and premature doom. The timing of being added to Cryptsy is hugely important.

Has anyone successfully withdrawn btc from there?? The email confirmation said it needed to be done manually. uhh.

I recommend transferring your btc to alts and then withdraw. Should be much more safer since the site is not wanting to cooperate with btc withdrawals but are allowing alt withdrawals. Reeks of scam.

Why are we still stuck at 0.0000008 BTC...

Increase the difficulty already, the mining 'tards continue to throw up huge sell walls

Consider that good! The difficulty is just high enough so that multipools aren't raping the shit out of the price. Pretty surprising we haven't dropped back down to the 3 satoshi range if you ask me.

I also missed the moon accumulation at 1sat. I sat there staring at it like "this coins a joke" while it was fixing to take off. I was going to buy at 2sats and was like "nahh I don't wanna give the 1sat buyers 100% profit, maybe holding the bag. Missed my chance". Ultimately, I kept doing that until Cryptsy added it and missed out on a ton of gains.

Now Moon is back down to 1sat after falling from the 30s. Cryptsy is removing the BTC/Moon pair.

Buying at 1satoshi has little risk since you can sell for what you bought but when there's no buy support, it might be hard to sell at 1satoshi and a lack of volume could ultimately mean the exchange removes the coin.
I bought Corgicoin at one satoshi, sold all I could at 2satoshis and now look at it. Dead. https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_corg
So, it is very possible for you to buy your flaps at 1sat and the coin gets removed from the exchange, making it dang hard to sell even at 1sat.

Ultimately, if the whales want to pump this coin, Mooncoin proves they have the power to do so. Even at 2satoshis though, this coin is still being hit pretty hard by multipools.
I have buys at 1sat, totally worth the risk.

yeah FLAP is the only other coin at 1 sat on Cryptsy... and it has half the volume of MOON (FLAP volume has dropped 90% over the past few days)... it's positioned to be dropped from Cryptsy soon. Vo

http://i62.tinypic.com/2ziat5s.png

It does look that way, unfortunately. It had tons of volume right after cryptsy's launch but was, of course, short-lived hype. It was just added so maybe cryptsy will give it more time. Worse case, they have simply a ltc market.

You can mark this post and I can easily be wrong.  But this is how I see it played out.  On crypsty they accumulate at 2 sat for a while let the btc bid at 2 sat on crypsty get pretty low.

Then a bunch of selling comes in as people try and sell at 2 sat that were holding out.

That is when the accumulators make 1 of 2 possible decisions......

1. They take all they can get at 2 then put up a massive btc bid at 2 spurring price to start going up and rebuying at 3 what many had just sold at 2. ( Talking like 32 btc + on bid at 2 )

2. Second option is they let it slide to 1 satoshi where they start accumulating all they can for days/weeks.... however long they can get sellers.

Ultimately I am putting my money on at some point it trades well above 3 satoshi. WELL above.  Yes, it could be today it could be a while from now, but it will get there.  When you pump a coin like mooncoin that had nothing, you cna be sure a coin that has plenty coming in the pipe will and is being heavily accumulated.  ( also manipulated with the big sell walls buried deep in the ask, to not get executed before they are ready )

I could be wrong sure... but so far my balance says otherwise.  Yes, I did miss the mooncoin accumulation at 1 sat, I will admit that.  It took a lot of willpower and btc but they pulled that off.  ( My mistake was I didn't think they could get a worthless coin with nothing off the ground/pump, was wrong.  I mean they even copy pasted the doge logo on their wallet Smiley )

Gl all I am accumulating big at 1 Satoshi, if youw ant to sell pls do so on crypsty, it is where most of my buy orders are in.  Thanks in advance.

1 Sat vs 2 sat is a lot cheaper.  I have over 5 btc on exchanges in the que or ready to buy at 1 sat.  Buying at 1 and then even selling at 2 is 100% gain.

I agree. People say this is the next doge but I say this is the next Moon. All speculation though..whales dictate the market too much. What made moon even better was the rumors of being added to cryptsy which helped the pump succeed and when it was added to cryptsy, the price more than doubled from 15sats to over 30sats.

Cryptsy's timing was crap and should have been added to other exchanges, such as CoinedUP, first in order to get more stable growth. Why on Earth CoinedUp added 10 new coins in 24hours and did not include Flappy into their rotation is beyond me (considering the coinedup flappy votes, flappys volume, etc). Cryptsy beat them to the punch.

I'm removing the rose tinted glasses and trying to look logically and things aren't looking so hot, at the moment. Everbody knows that almost every coin dies a painful death after hitting cryptsy. This coin was added to cryptsy at a terrible time - it was already dumped down to about 2 satoshis by the time of its addition. There needs to be steady growth and then get added there.

I do have some hope and its possible this can can succeed because the devs, premine, possible media coverage etc but demand really needs to pick up.

For the people saying "Well Doge was like this one day"..so was every other coin in existence. Doge is an anomaly, its different. Its rise was attributed to many things:
  • Massive, giving community
  • Being added to China's Cryptsy, Bter
  • A pump instigated by donating about $35000 to the Jamaicans
  • Many big players got in the pump to push prices higher
  • Media Coverage

All of these things happened practically all at once, synergizing with each other to create massive demand. Can Flappy do something like this? Perhaps but unlikely.

Can it be something like MOONcoin, which was massively pumped by major players? I think so, but again, it depends on what the major players want to pump. Mooncoin was sitting at 1 satoshi with zero buy support when it was pumped up to 36 satoshis. Big players (Fontas, Woolong, etc) realized 1000%+ gains on Mooncoin and its entirely possible for them to target Flappy next.

Its nice to see a confident community here but Leafcoin also had that: "people selling their leafs so cheap at 25 satoshis are stupid, MORE FOR ME!". Leaf is now sitting at 3 satoshis.
Really, there's no way to know. I want Flappy to succeed and still hold about 30mil or so but its looking bleak.

BTC was $827 USD on January 7th and is $615 USD now. Please explain to all of us how that correlates to an uptrend?

Uptrend = higher highs and higher lows. Frankly, I don't believe there is any way in hell its going below its low of 400 without some massive panic (more panic than when gox got shut down). Not happening :p

I'm glad you made this thread, as it correlates to a post I had made earlier today:

I suppose "this" Satoshi Nakamoto is the equivalent of Bitcoin Jesus. We can now split Satoshism into a Jew and Christian division which will allow us all to become a legitimate 501(c)(3)! Praise the lord!

Maybe Newsweek's Satoshi is the "Anti-Nakamoto", signaling the end of times for bitcoin.

A big wave of miners are coming back, plus a load of new registrations today. had an influx of over 400 miners in the last 2 hours, also assuming other pools are getting some more miners too, so net hashrate is fluctuating too. The most important stats are confirmed/unconfirmed earnings and blocks per hour and those are what counts the most.

Yup. After contemplating what I should mine, decided to come back to Ultra and see where this goes =) Difficulty is 2, seriously?! aha.
