Does Sweden allow class-action lawsuits? From what I understand, the Swedes can come down pretty hard on people for fraudulent claims, ie. "We will never mine with more the 5% of what we....Oh wait, welcome to the largest BTC mining farm in the world!

I haven't been paying attention for the past 300 pages, so I'm not sure if this has been discussed here.

I have bought and sold coins on Coinbase more than two dozen times and the money always gets debited or credited from/to my checking account when they say it will. All of my Coinbase purchases and sales have been flawless.

I'm sure a simple explanation like "I bought X coins for Y dollars and instead they charged me Z" would bring some sympathy. Until then, many people are going to be unsympathetic.

Wow. At first I had some regret over selling my pre-order Neptunes, but now I feel a little better.

So how does KNC reconcile their previous "5%" statement regarding mining and their new data center? Is the data center owned by someone's "Brother" or "Cousin", and therefore technically not a KNC data center?

If the BitSafe is 50-60 USD i think they will sell like condoms on Mardi Gras  Grin
BFL don´t give a shit about the community, it´s all about cold hard cash for them.

I will probably order/pre-order one, even if i know it´s dumb... because my mom and dad can´t handle a Android with special apps.
They need something easy, and i think BitSafe might be the solution.

Your parents can't handle an Android app, yet they are competent enough to complete a bitcoin transaction on a standalone device? Doesn't make sense. Do your parents actually use bitcoin, or are you just imagining a happy, bright future where they use bitcoin at the market and gas station?

Average around 180-190 GH/S, have not overclocked. Will include original PSU with each miner + extra PSU.

Taking offers for 1 or take all 10. PM me for pictures or offers. Prefer a local pickup but I can ship.

Local to what?

I am wondering what would be profitable miners or multi-rigs if overclocking is the initial intention.

"October" KNC Jupiters can be over clocked from 550 GHs to 650-675 GHs fairly easily, and will draw about 825 watts. I've seen them for under $4000 on eBay.

It is a solid state device. It should theoretically last forever, or until a component fails.

I had odd problems until I used static IP addresses for all of my Antminers. What does the Miner Status tab say your hash rate is? What about enabled/disabled processors, too?

i  cannot connect to my antminer screen anymore when i type the ip in the browser,if i remember correctly i delete the wan connection (cause i could not get my miner to mine and LAN didnt seem to work-using internet cable)

Now the leds on the internetport of the ants dont light up anymore while cable is plugged in.

any ideas ?(factory reset button didnt help me,or i did that wrong too)

Factory reset should be held down for 5-10 seconds after the miner boots (about 90 seconds after power-up). You might see a light show, or you might not, when you reset it. Cycle the power and it should reset to the factory 192.168.1.99.

I have my miners set to static ip addresses which are set outside of the router's DHCP range, so there are no issues like this.

When you can buy Antminers for half the price of CEX.IO "Ghashes", I think it should be self explanatory.

1) here is the photo of my monitor screen
2) I run it with Corsair RM850. It's a pretty good PSU, I have another two of them powering two Ants S1 each without problems.

Actually I don't care much just was sort of disappointed when paid heavy customs tax for this unit only to find that it's all dusty and semi-burnt.

Sorry about your ordeal, but I couldn't help but notice the lenses (nice darkroom) above the monitor. Got anything for large format (5x7 to 20x24 is what I'm interested in) in their that you want to sell?

Re: [Antminer S1] - Pencil Voltage Mod guide
by
the-skeptic
on 17/03/2014, 01:39:31 UTC
Note: Not all pencils are created equal. A generic #2 pencil from Office Depot wouldn't get the voltage over 1.13 volts. A good ole' fat construction pencil from Home Depot worked much better for me.

Remember to always test the first cap (C17, I think), because it will show the highest voltage, in case you over-pencil it.

As far as my experience: I have 6 S1 Antminers, and none of them like the 418 MHz setting. HWE rates were 4.5% - 5.3% with hash rates around 210 GHs even with the pencil mod. At 393 MHz (5f05, 36) I was getting .85% - .90% HWE before the pencil mod, but the mod actually lowered it to .45% - .51% across the board. Hashrate has remained at 200 GHs. I don't have a killawatt, so I have no idea on consumption.

edit:to the OP, what firmware do you run?

In a couple of months (like diff x 4) it will be interesting to try to undervolt it and test max freq w/ decent HW error rate.

Yeah, I think to do undervolt, the resistor R3 (right next to R12) can be pencil modded ... this should theoretically drop the voltage.
R12 would not be pencil modded in this case.

careful with R3! The voltage on the first (left most) yellow cap jumps from 1.1v to 2.6v when pencil lead gets on R3. I haven't tried to boot a miner with the first cap being so high. It could lead to disaster.....

A quick update, 16hrs later, shes still running strong.
418mhz, .8% HW, 212.3GH MHSav

Using an 80% effecient PSU ... power draw from wall - 510w

What are your OC settings, hex and timeout for 418?

Re: TheShowOff-all ANTMINER mining rigs.

Two of my six Antminers. I've made custom covers for all of them, which helps force a lot more air over the heat sinks and chips.

My brother actually suggested that i should do the same about a week ago.

He said it will work out much better to reduce heat that way.

So, how is it going?

EDIT: Doesn't the hot air coming out from one Ant affect the heat of the other?
I mean because you have them facing the opposite direction.

New Update. In my non-climate controlled 2-car garage I have three S1 Antminers overclocked to 393 MHz. The temperature here in Santa Fe, New Mexico is 62F/17C, but the three miners bring the temperature up to a cozy 89F/32C inside the garage. I ran one miner for 8 hours without my custom cover, which then reported temperatures of 54C/57C in the "Miner Status" tab. After 30 minutes with the cover on the temperatures had dropped to 51C/53C, and after 45 minutes the temperatures had dropped to a stable 47C/50C. This equates to a 13 degree Fahrenheit drop on both boards.

I will be selling an improved version of the case within a week, with the price point in the .017 BTC range for quantities under 10, and ~.0155 BTC for 10+ units (based on the current exchange rate). The price will include UPS ground shipping with tracking inside the USA for orders of 10+, while smaller orders will be at a flat rate of .009 BTC for UPS shipping.

Stayed Tuned........

I mean because you have them facing the opposite direction.

I usually have them facing the same direction, I just turned one around to take the picture.

I have a IR temp gun and found that without the cover, the chips closest to the fans get up to about 103^F and the chips furthest away get up to 135^F. With the covers on, the chips all seem to settle around 118-122^F. Without the cover the heatsink end gets up to 120-123^F, but the cover brings the heatsink down to 115-118^F.

If people are interested in covers, I am considering making them for sale. I think they would sell for around BTC .018 - .020 depending on exchange. Powder coated .025" aluminum, would include a bottom plate, back cover with cable pass-thru and top cover.

Is Comcast fighting with my Antminers?
by
the-skeptic
on 03/03/2014, 20:44:02 UTC
I have miners at home and at my business: Four Antminer S1 and a October KNC Jupiter at home, and two Antminer S1 at work. Both locations are served by Comcast cable internet service, and at both locations I get my Antminers failing over from primary to the backup pool quite often, while the KNC only fails over about 1/2 as much, but it uses a different port than the Antminers on Eligius, my primary pool. It doesn't matter which of my pools I put as the primary and secondary, it seems to happen equally with BTCG, Eligius and Ghash (I prefer Eligius).

Has anyone else had a similar issue? The Antminers only use 6mb of data every 24 hours, so it's definitely not a bandwidth issue, and it really seems like Comcast is trying to throttle my bitcoin mining. I have had bad luck with miners plugged directly into the router/switch as well as connected via wifi. I've tried DHCP and static IPs without improvement.

Is there a decent piece of windows software that I can use to monitor the connection more closely so that I can contact Comcast and tell them exactly what is going on a specific times?

Thanks,

Dana

here is a video i found, donno if it was posted on the fourms yet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd-GbG2WmW0

shows the monarch ( lolsure )

and a new hardware based wallet

It shows 480 btc on it, wonder if that real, i remember seeing someone on the forums who sued them and won, and now in-process of finding there assets, mabye help?

Those boards they show are no further along in design/production as the ones they showed when they first announced the board. There are no traces on those boards, they are just pieces of green fiberglass with non-working components glued to them. Pretty slick. They can make it look like they have a "prototype", when in fact it could simply be a bunch of random electronic components that have nothing to do with bitcoin mining cards.
