Someone pls put memory in order, from best to worst:
samsung, micron, hynix, elpida

I'd say

1. Samsung
2. Hynix
3. Micron/Elpida (Elpida is a subsiduary of Micron)

But it all depends on the system architecture around it.

I would say i agree

I have 5 msi r 570 4gb

3 with sequential serial number 798, 799 800 last 3 digit of serial number (elpidia ram)
2 are with different serial, (hynix ram)

NOW... on elpidia ram... 1 card 28.5mh 130W
same moded bios on 2. card 28.2mh 130W
on 3. card same moded bios NOT WORKING! crash in 0.2 sec after start miner. WTF?!?!?

next...
2 card with hynix ram.
same moded bios as as before 26.1mh 150W  WTF???

so... moded from beginig hynix ram....
max i can get is 2000 (2010) mem and core clock is almost not important.... got max 27.2Mh 130W

CAN ENYBOY EXPLAIN TO ME PLEASE Huh

thank you

@Claymore

can you please add support for r9 390 cards with new drivers 17.10 and newer?
and maybe, if is not too dificult... MSI R9 390 8GB... the fan are not controled by the miner.....
with miner 9.8 are mining eth or zec, but they are not stable. (not even in stock unmoded bios)

thank you.

I started getting a strange unspecified launch failure error running ETH+SC.. It'll work for a few shares, then crash and restart. Does anyone know what's causing it?

https://i.imgur.com/TPtdlpn.png

maybe a fiew more details...
maybe too over/under clocked/under volted
how many gpus?
maybe faulty riser
faulty gpu....
and so on...
maybe only update the miner....

Anyone using the MSI Z170-A Pro for more than 4 GPUs?

I've got mine set to Gen 1 and >4GB in the BIOS.  All the cards show up fine and Claymore recognizes all of them, but when Claymore starts and gets to Create GPU Buffer on the last card (GPU0), the system hangs.

I'm on Win10 Anniversary with latest Nvidia drivers.  I've got 4GB RAM installed and virtual memory set to 16GB (16384MB). These are all EVGA GTX 1060 SC 3GB Cards.

Any ideas?

i dont like Windows for mining... but
what psu do you have?
are gpus on stock settings?

Mining with Claymore and get full HDD (128GB SSD)  in half hour.
After checking find /var/log/syslog and kern.log  grown up to 52GB each.
System write this 4 messages about 4-5 thousands per second !

Despite this mine worked properly 24.3 MH/s on each card until the disk is full Smiley
Someone also stumbled upon a similar problem?

System:
Lubuntu 16.04  with amdgpu-pro_16.30.3

5x RX 480 8GB ref model
Asrock FM2A88X + BTC

Hi, i have the same problem in my new project : http://simplemining.net/
Anyway it doesnt bother mining and about logs you can turn then off:
as root execute this command and you will have no longer such problem Smiley systemctl disable rsyslog.service
then delete big file logs from /var/log/ adn reboot system, then it will work fine.
If you want i will release my http://simplemining.net/ Operating System which will have this fix and many more + feature updates.
If you want make donation BTC: 1ERRVbvV23h51ScH73nQr6TDmaieKNuuVD

I'm running into the same problem in simpleMining OS.

1 - My pendrive is not full:

Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev            1.9G     0  1.9G   0% /dev
tmpfs           390M   35M  356M   9% /run
/dev/sda2       6.5G  2.1G  4.4G  33% /
tmpfs           2.0G     0  2.0G   0% /dev/shm
tmpfs           5.0M     0  5.0M   0% /run/lock
tmpfs           2.0G     0  2.0G   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs           2.0G  8.0K  2.0G   1% /var/log
tmpfs           2.0G   89M  1.9G   5% /var/tmp
tmpfs           300M   16K  300M   1% /tmp
tmpfs           2.0G     0  2.0G   0% /var/log/apt

tmpfs           390M     0  390M   0% /run/user/1000

2 - Logs are disabled in claymore

3 - I've executed the sudo systemctl disable rsyslog.service command

None of this worked, I keep getting the messages. The good thing is: my hashing does not seem to be affected by it.

this error in Linux mean, that the gpu is faulty... not 100% any more.

Hi,

I have a nice fast laptop with the latest intel and nvidia quadro M2000 (4GB)
I ll only getting 1.2Mh/s???
what's wrong?

regards,
eric

what coin do you mine?

ETH only gives 1.2Mh/s
ETH and DCR gives 1.2Mh/s ETH and 12Mh/s DCR

quadro cards, if you have Windows and last drivers....
quadro card in control panel for gpu, has an option to use gpu for matematical operations, and grapichs operations.
try to change this option.

p.s. quadro 2000 (m)2000 is only for mobile, notebooks.... is not as new card as you may thing.

I have the latest driver 382.05
but I can't find the setting that your mentioning?
I see a setting "Optimize for Compute Performance" but that doesn't give better hashrates.

eric

i found only 377 drivers for quadro m2000... are you shure to download che correct driver?

Hi,

I have a problem with a rig.
Yesterday I removed an older R9 card. Now there are only 4 x RX480s in the rig.
When I started the rig, it started-stoped-started-stoped-started but no screen, no beeps, nothing.
I removed all unnecessary things (so only cpu and mem is on the motherboard) and stil the same!
The mainboard is an Asrock btc pro.
CPU is an intel G1840
Ii tried a couple of different memory.
Power supply is an EVGA 1600 G2.

Any ideas?

regards,
eric
First I would reset the CMOS.

i 've tried that!
But no luck!!!
Ok next I would try getting the board to boot to the bios.........nothing connected like you did before, except this time try only one stick of mem you dam sure is good. Try it in each slot to see if you can get to the bios. Don't forget to disconnect the drive your OS is on.

I did all that.
just motherboard, CPU and 1 stick of good mem. (no HD, no GPU, no nothing...)
Still the same!

eric

tried with other ram.
Still nothing.
Next........I'd order a new mobo. There is a chance your cpu went bad, but the odds against that are pretty high. You could also double check each of the power cables and PSU.....but it is likely a mobo gone bad on you.

this is also possible yes...

Just disconnected and cleaned the motherboard and connected the PSU to the motherboard.
I got back in the bios!
Changed the bios a bit (disable sound)
And when rebooting, I get the same problem!!!

Huh

what gpu are you using? on board, or gpu in pcie?
