Let's not jump to any conclusions just yet. Brock is one of the few people in the altcoin world whose identity is public, so I doubt he would do anything that might get him arrested/sued/etc.
Agreed, lets not start a witch hunt here.
Its easy to jump to conclusions, but making false accusations does nothing but make you look foolish.
On the other hand, I'm super curious as to why it appears the domain is registered under Brock's name.
Deadlines must surely be something familiar for someone who runs a scheduling app, much like it is for a team of proven entrepreneurs and business executives

Well, statistics teaches us that randomly clicking octo explorer transactions will likely show the wallet with the currently highest hashrate.

if anyone has some spare time he could try to trace back this address. if it leads to the first days/weeks it is likely the devs wallet and it means they are still mining with lots of hashrate.

That address is most likely a pool address, as seen here in the link to FusionHash's wallet address.

It could be Edric's pool address, it could be a multipool (although i don't think any multis mine octo anymore), or it may be someone solomining (most likely)

As of this post, more than 31,000,000 Octos have been mined.
The block reward remains at 88 per block as per the block explorer.
Maybe the wording is a little difficult in the OctoCoin website, and the rewards will be cut down to 80 in 88 days, or I did not read something correctly.
Anyone care to take a better stab at it?

Your concerns are heard and understood. The plan remains the same and remains in motion. Only the timelines have changed and all we can do is continue to apologize for that. We cannot sacrifice quality for time as it goes directly in the face of our mission. We believe that once we can officially get our first release(s) out, it will fully restore our credibility and reduce tension within this great community. Right now the top priority remains releasing the new client, based on the new Bitcoin Core 0.9.3 source, in hopes that it will resolve the issue(s) that occurred at Bittrex.com. While we cannot pinpoint anything specifically that could have caused the issue(s) they experienced, we all agreed it is time for an updated client/wallet release regardless. The latest release will be more polished than the previous as we begin to work toward our goal of mainstream acceptance. One of our guys will continue working on this throughout the weekend.
While we truly believe 888 will prove to be a great investment, as has been said several times in here, please do not invest more than you can afford to lose. We will execute on our plans and, in a case where we cannot deliver our first release within the next couple weeks, we will take the advice some of you have given and release a preview via a medium TBD.
We read every post in this thread and typically visit at least two times each week. When we have worthwhile updates to provide, we will always provide them. Once our credibility grows, updates with less substance will provide benefit where they currently do not.

Even right now at these prices there is nothing better I could have put my coins into over the past 6 months that I can see. This is literally the only thing I've bought in that time period that isn't down at least 10x from my buy price. I'm basically out of alts except for a few and this is one of them I'm holding because everything I know tells me this is a solid play.

seems more likely due to the first 711,111 888 deposit being the 0.8% premine. On top of this, if this were the dev address it can be confirmed that they are investing plenty into their coin, as you can see how much more than the 0.8% has been mined/purchased.

Hi everybody! I just bought some Octocoin last night so I thought I'd come check things out and introduce myself.
I'm a die-hard Murraycoin believer, so when I saw bholzer was interested in and involved with Octocoin, I figured: Good enough for me!
I'm also a big Foo Fighters fan, so that would be very cool if the Octocoin team were able to get hooked up with the band somehow.

If there are only 7 of us mining at http://888.fedaykin.us where are all the other miners at? All the other pools have 0 miners listed. Somewhere there is 400 MH (multipools maybe?)
I'm currently the only one on mining at FusionHash and have been for the last few days. It is possible that someone with a high enough hashrate is solo mining.

I dumped my coins about 48 hours ago and made a loss of about 1/3
I bought bitcoindark with the proceeds and today I have made my loss back!!!!
Now that coin is going to the centre of the universe!!!!!

Also if anyone is interested I heard rumours that LTC will go above $30+++ in the next month or so.
If you look at the graphs you can see it's already starting to twitch slghtly.
another rumour is that BTC will drop to below $250 around the same time.
My plan is to get LTC now whilst it's cheap and when it goes up / BTC goes down I'll buy BTC with the LTC
Other rumours are BTC will got over $5000 within the next 6-9 months.
Hope all of this really happens and helps some of you get some money back?!?
Relying on rumors to do trading is foolish and amateur. However if BTC were to fall to 250, there would be plenty of Octo purchased from my end.

Promoting a coin you're invested in here is quite low, especially since it's off topic. Especially one that is a "countrycoin" which seem to have a great track record around here.
There is no way to see past the fact that devs are inactive. I wouldn't call the octopus dead just yet, Q3 meetings with investors should be coming up shortly
In the meantime if anyone wants to ditch their coins, feel free to send some my way

Hope is definitely not lost on my end, although I cannot speak for the community as a whole.
OctoCoin has been and still very much is like a story waiting to be told. Jumping ship before anything has really begun is silly. I do understand the frustration in the deadlines which are now much overdue, and must admit that at one point or another I did let the uncertainty get to me, but it just wouldn't be right for me to leave this great community here and honestly the limited communication with the devs along with bholzer's reassurance intrigues me to ride this out till the end (as was originally planned). It takes a tremendous amount of faith in those behind this project to continue holding and investing more, but it is those that take the greatest risks that also receive the greatest rewards.
In other news, OctoCoin is hitting a high in 24hr volume today over the past month or so, which definitely shows promise, whether it be someone picking up cheap Octos, or someone with more than a hunch strategically buying in anticipation of something to come...

However, it was simply done due to lack of content, and in hindsight I probably should have said something.
Moving on to events this week, I am actually out of town now on a trip with friends. So no news this week either.
Hopefully by my return I can be greeted with some good news
