Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoin | FairCoop The Earth cooperative. Fairsaving + crowdfunding

Hi, i made a ticket @ BTER (exchange) to add FAIR to the voting list.

The good news is : it got accepted https://bter.com/voting#FAIR

Bad news is: You need a account where you have traded on to be able to vote (depending on your volume 1 - 10 times an hour)

Once i have done some trading there i will make sure i try to vote every hour i can.

Awesome.  I threw some upvotes at FAIR, now in the top 100 on BTER.  Still quite a ways to go though.

Re: [ANN] NoirShares UPDATE REQUIRED Advanced Features✔, Unique PoW✔

I think I have some problem.
My address is 9hWttyc1RSwY8FHG6BfTYAwTgphDqxtJyv and I had 7273.916572 NRS.

In the previous NRS, I type dumpprivkey 9hWttyc1RSwY8FHG6BfTYAwTgphDqxtJyv and I got
Private key for address 9hWttyc1RSwY8FHG6BfTYAwTgphDqxtJyv is not known (code -4)

Can you help me?

You shouldn't have to dump any keys to switch to the new NRS chain.  Just use your old wallet file as though it were the wallet for the new chain.  (Be sure to back it up first, though.)

If you find something you want to ask about, quote the area and ask.

If anyone disagrees with the amount under their name please notify me.

Not sure if its relevant here but the addresses for me are still the old (incorrect, not controlled by me) ones.

I am sorry to be negative, but that system cannot work. It is very simplistic and fraud will be imminent.
1. I can send multiple tokens (coins?) to my own address, each is one vote, so then I will pay for my own votes and get chosen.
2. A website cannot replace the blockchain, in fact has nothing to do with the blockchain other than that you can represent information from the blockchain on it
3. People can vote multiple times for the same person
4. How do I know who voted? In the GF I guess that other GF holders vote, but not other people, how to prevent that?

I'd imagine sending the token transaction indicates that the sending address votes for the receiving address with its remaining stake, so Sybil attacks nor voting for multiple people are not possible.

I could be wrong.

Edit: Or just slow.

Hey guys,

I did some work on the design to make it easier to read and make it mobile responsive...

What do you guys think about it?

http://162.243.224.140:1080/

There are a few things to fix still and I would like to improve speed as well but I like it so far Cheesy

Give us top balance addresses, we must know how fair the distribution really was!

I'm surprised none of you have a problem with the nut2pools pool having over 51% of the hash for this coin all the time.  Sometimes it is as high as 70%.

It really hurts the validity of this coin to have one pool effectively controlling the blockchain.

I don't know the technicals well enough to understand whether they may be effecting the ability of other pools/ solo miners to get blocks, but I've found that since they've gotten over 50%, I receive a high number of rejects on solved blocks.  Is it possible that the pool preferentially treats their own blocks, and effectively the entire chain, as the correct ones as they would see those before an outside block was submitted?

On a 30 second block, even a few seconds preference toward their own pool before others outside the pool could be validated could be enough to completely skew everything in their favor.

I haven't seen one person raise a concern about this on this thread, though.  Why is this?

The rejects are caused by a bug still in the wallet code for some reason, not the consolidation of hashing power.

Nevertheless, your concern is justified and, I'm sure, shared by more than me.

Nutnut, you should really consider an exorbitant fee on your pool, or something, to incentivize this network to decentralize.

Does anyone understand PPLNS?

Is it more or less profitable to join a PPLNS with more or less hash power, or is it meaningless?

It's meaningless as long as you don't hop between pools, and try to only stop mining right when a block's been found.

Yeah, that much I understood. Wanted to try my luck at a pool with 0% fees. At this difficulty level I don't even know if it's worth trying on 250khash/sec.

With less hashpower you want PPLNS over prop. Proportional allows pool hoppers to 'steal' from non-hopping miners and thus honest people get less.  The more relative hashpower others have over you corresponds to how much you can possibly lose from hoppers with a prop payout system.

PPLNS will introduce more variance (especially for low hash power miners) but will always be fair.

Cheating will be a problem when points or coins are worth $$$.

The security of the FAH network will not credit anyone that attempts to cheat. The amount of people with the know how to "possibly cheat" FAH's current security I'm sure is rather small. It will be a waste of their efforts. There have been a lot of claims that the system is cheat-able, however I have yet to see anyone suggest something that would actually make it through FAH security. Some of these claims might have worked a long time ago before FAH security was greatly increased.

What are you talking about? Did you miss the post a page ago where one of the lead devs told you that their security was insufficient when dealing with valueless points, much less valuable coins? Why anyone would think longtime folders a valuable source next to that is baffling.

Given the recent difficulty changes, why people think this coin is in some kind of crisis confuses me.  The overall mining community clearly values this coin more than the obviously shallow and manipulatable markets at coinedup -- which source seems more trustworthy to you?  It's two purported "crowds" afterall, I just think the answer is obvious.  Cryptsy soon.

does anyone getting this error in the deamon?

You're probably running out of memory; do you have more than 512 MiB per thread you're attempting to run (if you're mining -- not sure what might cause that if you're just running the wallet.)

all the above are paid. If you are not qualified, please read OP to see what to do to qualify the giveaway. Wink

Also all the accounts containing only giveaway requests are declined. These are clearly people's side accounts for requesting giveaway only.

Any pointers for where I went wrong?  As far as I can tell I followed the directions to qualify, yet have received nothing.

please read again the conditions and what you could do.

This, right?

For those who do not satisfy the above conditions but like to get LottoCoin free giveaways, there's an easy way to do so: show that you like LottoCoin! Post at the LottoCoin main thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=368153.0

once you demonstrate that you are part of the LottoCoin community, we'll send you the giveaway, regardless when your account was created or how many activities in your account Wink

After 12 hours:

"blocks" : 178,
"currentblocksize" : 1193,
"currentblocktx" : 1,
"difficulty" : 0.00001235,
"errors" : "",
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespermin" : 0.08710624,
"pooledtx" : 3,

This is normal?

This seems very wrong, but the exact same thing has happened to me.
