Mining can be really disheartening because of the expertise needed - not just for the technical setup, but for planning to beat the low (probably negative) returns (when electricity is taken into account).

You can buy a mining "bond" that pays you as if you had a certain hashrate. Check out Bitfunder and the ASIC.MINER assets there. Probably  a much higher payoff and easier to learn the ins-and-outs than mining, IMO.

Localbitcoins is probably the way to go. They have a good online trading community.

Localbitcoins has a pretty vibrant community for stuff like this. Feedback, etc. makes it really usable.

I'd use the ln command. Something like

ln -s /where/you/want ~/Users/user/Library/Application Support/Whereeveritusuallyputsit

There isn't any reason not to add it. They'd make a bundle off transaction fees and basically bringing a whole market into the mainstream.

If people thought it was going up, they'd buy and it would go up. People have mixed opinions on Bitcoin's future.

Need help closing position on Bitfunder

Hey everybody,

I went a little overboard buying call options on Bitfunder and unfortunately my Dwolla account doesn't clear CampBX until after the option expires. I just need to sell a couple options to get the liquidity to close all my positions, so on Bitfunder I have 5 calls that close on Saturday listed at 0.02350 BTC for a strike price of 0.0204020 BTC. Thats 0.043902 per and falls in the current bid-ask spread with some quick profits available if it goes up this week.

I'm kind of annoyed that no exchange has cash settlement on the options. Like execute option and immediately sell at bid price without having to hold BTC.
