What people think about the KYC/AML/CFT security theatre outside of our social bubble?

The general perception of such laws and regulations is negative in our social bubble.

But what about the general population of voters?

Do they think these regulations (government and financial service provider's surveillance programs) are good for the good guys and accept the "nothing to hide" argument?

Maybe the majority of people think it's worth the privacy invasion and risk of identity theft (because you need to submit all your personal data to the financial service providers) and it is a low price to pay for government's ability to track criminals and terrorist?

Last but not least - "think of the children" argument. You don't want paedophiles to use the financial system to fund child abuse?

Maybe only paedophiles, terrorist, money launderers, corrupt politicians and tax evaders whine about the good KYC/AML/CFT laws and law abiding citizens have nothing to hide from the Big Brother?

(I am not proponent of the KYC/AML/CFT laws, only want to provoke a discussion.)

if two people share same username, would they still share the same account. I mean, share the same account balance? What would then be the mode of operating /trading it  Grin

It's problematic for two users to share the same username because if one user updates the password the other lose access to the bitcoins.

However, it's possible to make different MetaTrader accounts under the same username. One username can create multiple MetaTrader accounts and control the deposit/withdrawal of bitcoins.

In my suggested use case the two users have separate usernames. The other user (fund manager) have only the password for my MetaTrader account, not the password for my username.

(To avoid confusion: MetaTrader accounts have user numbers, not usernames.)

Accessing multiple trading accounts under the same user from a single IP

So, two or more users can't share a single VPS or PC?

For example, if my friend have MetaTrader account (registered under his own username) and he is hosting my MetaTrader (registered under my username) on his PC or VPS (to make the trade copying working correctly or to act as "forex manager"), is this a violation of TOS?

For this to work do I need to ask my friend not to open account at your site (to use different forex broker) just to be sure that the TOS is not violated?

"Every person can only be operating one username"

I have another account I am not using, I signed up just for testing (to see the platfrom from the "inside"). There is no option to delete it when I searched. Can I just leave it without real trading activity?

I read about this issue

Can you elaborate what you mean by:

Quote
attempts to violate our terms of service in order to game the system, create multiple accounts to avoid detection

What is the violation of the TOS?

Arbitrage trading?

I read your TOS and understood that arbitrage trading is prohibited:

Can you elaborate whether accessing multiple accounts from single IP address is violation of your TOS?

For example, if a user is giving access to a MetaTrader account to a third party (signal provider) in order to facilitate copying of trades.

Can you confirm that only opening exactly opposite positions (hedging) is against the TOS, not just the common practice of hosting multiple MetaTrader instances on the same VPS in order to copy the trades from one to the other?

Another example: on the same VPS are hosted multiple MetaTrader instances working with different strategies (robots or manual executed strategies). Sometimes there might be positions with different direction (the one robot is opening long position, the other is opening short - but at different times and prices). Is this violation of TOS?

Anyone can make a Bitcoin address with "3BMEX" at the beginning.

There is no proof that this is a BitMex address.

Also, the whale can place buy order instead of sell order.

Is this swap per lot (per 1 BTC)?

Code:
BTCUSD

swap short         swap long
-1944.754217 -1967.725833

It's about 25% per day. Why such huge swap?

I have troubles with charts regularly.

It's not a big problem in most cases, but I have difficulty finding charts provider for NAS100. On TradingView they don't display the prices outside the normal working time.

Can you explain what is "0.075% notional"? Is this calculated based on entry price or based on close price? Or both?

And how it is consistent with the "-72.000000" I see here:

The current BTC price is 7620. So 0.075% would be 5.715. And this number -72 is totally different.

Also, when I pay the fee ($3.50 per lot for forex, 0.075% for BTC, etc) - when I open the position, when I close it, or both?

---

When the customer buys indices do you pay dividends of the underlying stocks in the index (and deduct dividends when the position is short)?

The 'swap type' is still in USD. I am using the Web interface (MetaTrader 5 Demo, also in Real the situation is the same).

The swap calculation for gold is 100 oz since our XAUUSD has a contract size of 100. 1 lot =100oz

The swap for XAUUSD is -0.01. Is this -0.01 oz or -0.01 USD?

In EURUSD the swap is denominated in EUR (the left currency), so I suppose in the case of XAUUSD it should be left part too (XAU). If this is correct -0.01 oz (from 100 oz) is -0.01% and this is -3.65% per year (365 days). The minus means that the trader is paying the swap. Is this correct?

Hello tjweb,

You are correct, the margin currency is XAU. The long swap currently is -0.012385 OZ so we take current rate 1292.65*0.012385 and this comes to $16. Currently, for every 1 lot long( 100 oz ), the swap cost is $16, in bitcoin, per day.

Regards,
Evolve

But MetaTrader (web versions) says the swap type is USD (the swap is -0.005998 USD per lot or per oz? Or else?). This contradicts to the above.

Here's our swap rates and they are updated daily https://evolve.markets/trading/swap/ . The charge is per day and each amount is per 100k in volume ( 1 lot in mt4).

As an example our EURUSD swap is now LONG 1.96516, SHORT -6.78874 . The margin currency of EURUSD is EURO so its 1.96516 EUR per 100k as the fee/ day . So if you hold 1 lot of ERUUSD long for 1 day it will charge you $1.96516 EUR and convert this to BITS then debit it from your account. The rates we use are taken from Bloomberg then crossed with our LP provider and updated daily.

Regards,
Evolve

Now the swap for EURUSD is 2.52623 (short) and -7.15765 (long). Does this mean that if I open short positions I will get 2.52623 USD (converted to bits at the current market rate) for every lot (and for long position I will pay 7.15765 USD for every lot)?

Can you confirm that the listed swap for the XAUUSD (-0.01 USD) is for 1 lot (100 oz of gold)? Or it is for 1 oz of gold?

Do you convert the profits/losses when they happen from USD to bits in the same way?

Does this mean that  it's possible to get margin call when the price of BTC is decreasing too much?

Some other brokers are calculating profits/losses in different way - if you open 1 BTC position in some instrument, the 1% increase with margin 1:10 lead to 10% profit (0.1 BTC). There it's not possible to get margin call just because the price of BTC is crashing.

AFAIK you shouldn't have any problems with that from latest versions.
you can always split by using VM with linux mint for example on top of your windows.
that's how I use it.

Actually the opposite is correct - Windows VM inside Linux host.

You put criminals in jail, not innocent people in jail (and keep criminals outside), right?

It's easy for bad stuff to go inside the VM from the host, but the opposite is hard.

Maybe there are scammers who are trying to look legit by doing some KYC security theatre.

So it's not a reliable indicator.

Bitcoin debit card scams - viabuy.com, qck-card.com and others
by
tjweb
on 19/01/2018, 01:02:29 UTC
Here is the list:

viabuy.com
qck-card.com
PlatinumATMCard.com
Platinumbitcoincard.com
Fastbitcoincard.com
fastbankcard.com
gqcard.com
anonymousbitcoincard.com

Maybe the viabuy.com and qck-card.com are most popular, look for reviews online.

They are using almost same design (and the same backed), I suppose they are run from one group.

Some of the reviews (viabuy.com) from Trust Pilot:

Quote
I did not even received the card and I received a letter demanding to pay 132€ ! I called the customer service twice and hang me up! Why would I pay for something I did not received! FRAUD!!!

Quote
this company hides fees and they do not let you know about them until you have registered, then they send you a card over night. They are then silent for sometime and threaten you with debt collection agency without further notice, they take your money for no service provided when requesting to cancel your account " they say you have to topup your account now before you can terminate your contract extraordinary" NEVER TRY TO BE A CUSTOMER HERE !!

Quote
Do not trust, they have held my salary after receiving pay slips, passport and driving licence. Their phone number 0203 88 5 0005 states that you are calling out side of normal hours during the day and they do not respond to any communication via email. Regards how many times you email them. I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this company. I'm in limbo with no cash and no way of contacting this company...

Quote
STAY AWAY FROM VIABUY. No card delivered despite emails that claim otherwise. Nearly 90€ worth of initial "fees" that they will attempt to collect from you regardless of whether they actually deliver the card or not (these are hidden in small print in their terms and conditions and never explicitly mentioned during the signup phase).

Their customer service skirts around all questions and doesn't even attempt to solve your problems, such as the fact that they might NEVER ACTUALLY BOTHER TO SEND THE CARD TO YOU. Instead, they only parrot a clearly copy-pasted series of vague responses solely aimed to coerce you into uploading money on your Viabuy account (money that they will then happily take for "fees").

Combined with the generous "25€ per new customer" referral program, all of this raises suspicion that the whole thing may be little more than a pyramid scheme.

This is a bluffer bank!
A few month ago they asked me to send them documents to increase my IDV level,as for I've oversubscribe limit for IDV2, but I've load to card at least to 2.000€. In their T&C I can ask for IDV3 only when I load card for 10.000€!!!
Unfortunately, I 've make two bank transfer to this account and both of it were pending, when it's happened. They held my funds and always want from me new documents, because they can't accept previously one.
For one month of trying to solve this problem, I understand that this bank is a huge huge hell.. Their customer servis are sooo bad, they don't ask on emails obviously! When I try to reach them on the phone, it's like a circus, they always say and promise me solve it in a few days.
Now they held 1.350€ and 900€ of my funds!! I've asked they to send it to origin more than month ago, and still nothing. They are robbers! They stole my money!!!
Guys, never use it!

Re: What is the difference between ZCash, ZClassic and ZenCash?
by

ZenCash also have these characteristics:

Quote
21 million ZenCash cap - no premine, no ICO
Thousands of Secure Nodes in operation - 3.5% of mining reward
Treasury funds for development, support, marketing - 8.5% of mining reward
Strong Team & Representative Governance - Zen Blockchain Foundation
Wallets and communication clients for International Users
Marketing Globalization - Tailored approach to different markets
Secure Nodes provide a resilient, distributed network

Some of the mining reward is going to the "treasury funds", not only to miners.

I suppose the attacker will use dictionary attack first.

This is why you should use random passwords like

Code:
fxjStLbiClmqlrEHbFOd5CGH07AmZkVk5tvjVPB2SfK2ukVNToAS8VP8G6bOx

or

Code:
,dtS7?{$a
And not words like

Code:
correct horse battery staple

Those with random passwords are relatively more secure.

The three-letter-agencies have access to your public cryptocurrency addresses.
