These things usually happens when are new to this kind of venture and eager gain for a quick profits or like what you said, the one that never contended with what you get as your profits. You're right there is no sense of promoting/sharing social media posts that rarely updates it, cause of them turn up a shitcoins or scam, but there few that actually make it big even if the social medias are not so active. It's just depends on developing team actually cause they're really the ones who are doing the job done.

You are right as long the as project is new  and if possible they can take all the profit out of it before shifting into a new defi project where they would do the same thing and that makes the project more vulnerable from whales that is why many start up defi projects innovate and implement some features where whales are not going  to exploits or manipulate the market price, one of those the Speculative or Priceless AMM where it contains the price volatility of a certain coin.

Bitcoin will always be the top priority of the traders and can never be placed by any other major altcoins the market today, ethereum is not even close. That usually became on trend last few months back, many project implemented that kind of thing in airdrop where the participants had had to pay small fees in order to be eligible for rewards and turned out to be scam later on. This often happened in BSC where bsc was trending and many were really high on it.

The project's team don't have any funds to pay for bounty hunters with btc or eth that isn why they doing bounty campaigns as promotions they cannot afford to get decent promoter for the project. And it would be good for the bounty hunters to be paid by native token of the projects cause who knows the price might be higher than what you are asking for in btc or eth
