I doubt there will be a lot there. Most don't open the SP20 as it loses warranty if you do. Chances are you would have been better off contacting ebay/mail over it being damaged in shipping.
Did they ship it in original box? The original box does a good job of protecting the miner.
Nope, just a used box with a few wraps of thin wrapping paper. Shipped US Mail Parcel Pool with no insurance. Just finished new thermal paste on the loose heat sinks and melted some 3M hot glue over the original. The only issue now is that it requires the micro-SD card to boot. Other than that it works great ! Next time ? Original box with insurance !

The Postal guy just dropped off a box with an eBay SP20 from Florida - Inside, the boards had shifted off their mounting rails to the point that the PCIe power plugs didn't line up, oops ! Took it apart and noticed several ASICs were loose. Each heatsink is held to the board with a captive stud and spring, then locked into place with what appears to be a high-temperature hot-melt glue to hold everything into place, or in this case not holding it in place. Any clue as to the correct glue used here ? Hoping it's not too critical, looking for specs now. Ugh.

140mm fans like the Noctua work fine on S5's with this adapter:
The only minor issue is that it extends below the base a bit so you'll need to compensate for that with a base plate under the miner (or hang the fan over the edge of whatever it's on).

Shopping for SP20E's - Is there a way to determine from the Serial Number that it is really an 'E' and not a plain SP20? All of my SP20E's start with 'FL145xx" so I assume numbers higher than that are 'E's". Does this make sense ? Who has a really early 'E' machine that they could check ?
OT: Does anyone remember 'E-Machine' computers, $299 desktops what a POS

Has anyone developed a breakout board with the ability to adjust output voltage ? Not sure how useful this would be (or which PS's have that on the backplane) for underclocking miners but it would be a neat feature. Another add-on would be a dual led volt / amp meter integrated into the breakout board. Just sayin'

Temperature difference between the 2 hashing PCB was reported to the engineers and it was reviewed. So far, it is not the hardware caused issues, but rather where and how the miners are being deployed and managed per the engineers.
The temperature sensors are also rather crude, and on a large scale there will be plenty of 'miscalibrated' ones. I'd be more suspicious of the sensor reading incorrectly than one board running significantly hotter.
Bitmain wisely chose the LM75a to provide temps to the I2C bus. It's sort of the industry standard, not 'crude' at all:
"The LM75A is an industry-standard digital temperature sensor with an integrated sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and I2C interface. The LM75A provides 9-bit digital temperature readings with an accuracy of ±2°C.
Performance-wise, we should see miners within a few degrees of each other, the 10C variance is extreme. Same air source, same fan, etc.

Agree that 240v is the way to go, up to 3% higher efficiency and allows use of server-grade power supplies that even have a Titanium 94% level on certain ones. Wow ! Most ATX units have from 100-240 universal input too. Don't use a common 'surge-protected' outlet strip for 240v though, lots of spark fun !

Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH
That S5 was running in the low 60's at 3960 RPM - After the thermal compound it dropped to 50 at 3240 with the same room temperature. Lower HW errors too. I'll pull the next worst one tonight and repaste it for comparison. The Gelid stuff is really stiff and gluey compared to the Arctic Silver compound. That's probably a good thing If I were completely ADHD I'd sort the boards across units and get matched sets lol.
Impressive results! What is your ambient temperature? Please share more details on exactly how you applied new compound. Thank you.
After cleaning off the chips and heat sink, I put a drop on each of the BM1384 ASIC chips and spread it lightly with the flat applicator that is in each package. The springs and shoulder hardware keep the board from being overtightened and squeezing out the compound from between the ASIC and heat sink, so the procedure is fairly simple. Of course, an ESD mat an wrist strap is recommended !

What are the big update ?? My fans seems to run lower. Anything else??
Give me your btc address for tip
After upgrading all the S5's and scoping out the temp charts, I picked a miner with the highest fan speed and temperature and took it offline. (Note to Bitmain: add a cool-down cycle that is triggered by unplugging the net cable). After an air blast in the garage to get rid of the dust, proceeded to take off the fan and end brackets using a folded piece of cardboard to separate the fins on the heat sink. Next, I removed one of the two ASIC boards with the dozen or so spring screws (clever!) and noticed that the thermal compound on the 1384 chips was mostly missing ! Maybe an unfortunate over-heat in a prior life, who knows. After cleaning up the heatsink and board with contact cleaner followed by iso alcohol, I applied some GELID Solutions GC-Extreme thermal compound to the chips, installed the first board, ditto for the second one.
Bottom line, new thermal compound resulted in 600 RPM fan reduction and 8-10 Deg C in temperature ! Took about an hour for the first one and $5.00 in Gelid compound. Happy camper here !
mine runs about 50c and the fan is around 3800 rpm..
is this what you are getting? i dont have another one to compare.. should i take apart and repaste?

Re: 2 * SP30 for sale (Titan data center) $3000 for both miners incl. shipping
The title says it all. Two SP30's from the Spondoolies August group buy. $3000 for both miners including shipping. 4.5TH each.
Happy to take both for $2600, no shipping required as Toomim Bros can pick up from Titan. Did Titan offer a decent deal for rolling over your 6-month contract ?

So 1.8 BTC shipped USA would be a go for the SP20E ?
Not sure how much shipping will be so I cant say yes. Id gladly do w.e. 420 is currently in bitcoin + the shipping price
That works, the 1.8 btc was 450 usd at a ~250 rate. Let me know the all-in with shipping to 99501 and I'll get you funded. Escrow not required, need to build trust, thanks.

Let's say I have several Antminers, could be 5 or 50. Is there a program that would allow me to monitor all the data from the Status Page ? ie:
Elapsed GH/S(5s) GH/S(avg) FoundBlocks LocalWork Utility WU BestShare Pool URL User Status Diff GetWorks Priority Accepted Diff1# DiffA# DiffR# DiffS# Rejected Discarded Stale LSDiff LSTime Chain# ASIC# Frequency Temp ASIC status Fan# Fan1 Fan2 Fan3 Fan4 Speed (r/min)
Obviously not in that format ! Ideally it would be in a grid (like excel) with miners on one axis and selectable info on the other. And periodic refresh too

I see the $369 price but have not been able to put any in the Cart - The screen past the 2nd 'captcha shows their transaction website to be offline.
Notice that the DDOS reward is up to 110 BTC - Hopefully that's enough to motivate someone into action !

Question: Why we open Batch 6 which is scheduled to be shipped in three months?
Answer: The sales page of Batch 6 is for committing the reservation requirement of Large Buy, is not for the purchase of Retail Sales.
"Bitmains NEWEST ANTMINER S3++ 450GH/265W Hash256 Bitcoin Miner S5 same chips" This is not S3+ or S3. This is S3++!!! It is installed with the state-of-the-art hash256 chips, and is the latest upgradation of S3+. Compared with the 355W nominal power consumption of its predecessor S3+, the power consumption of this newest S3++ is as low as 265W!!! Lower power consumption and higher mining efficiency means more income, more overlock room, lower temperature and quieter mining experience!!! The data sheet of S3++ is as follows:
Hash rate:450GH/s (with excellent overlock potency) Power consumption:265W (in nominal frequency) Voltage input:12V DC (2~4 6pin ports are required) Number of cooling fans:2
