I'm the one who dropped it to 0 temporarily.

I was concerned with the profitability as well (its stupid low), and started digging around.  Looks like our main database started acting funny at some point this morning, causing some chain reactions down the line.  Once I noticed (30min ago), I did an emergency restart of everything (db, endpoints, etc), which involved a few minutes of downtime (0 hashrate).

Everything should be up and running now, and I'm looking to see how much of the damage that was done is recoverable (just not processing blocks), how much of it is just stat reporting (not being able to pull stats from the db and thus not reflecting correctly), and how much is essentially actually lost (profitability stats couldn't be updated, thus switcher has bad data to use, thus picking incorrect coins, and just mining for shit for a while).

Essentially, I'm looking into it as we speak, will hopefully know more in the coming few hours.  Sorry ahead of time.

Ok, thanks for the update

Hashrate : 0...

Problem with the stats page I think as I am still submitting shares, no real problem.

By the way, thank you waffle for the pool !

Hi everyone, long time lurker and only recently registered to post here.
So, I am a linux systems engineer/developer and sometimes I dabble in some hobby-projects for fun, this is one of those. Statistics and graphs are (believe it or not) fun.  Wink

So if you mine on middlecoin and like to interpret graphs; take a look at http://middlestats.circlestorm.org/

In particular the 'change in wealth' graph should be interesting, and the total outstanding btc value graph should be nice to have (top graph, red+orange+green).
My goal has been to provide more insight into the fact that estimated value of unexchanged coins might not always correctly reflect the value after exchange, these graphs makes that part obvious. (Ex: See the Sat 02:00 drop in value when a whole lot of unexchanged coins were sold off at a lower-than expected price).

Mind you, this is a hobby project on a private server, do not expect too much
This site is still a work-in-progress, and it has limited potential given the input data, but it looks nice enough that I figure I might as well let people check it out and use it if they like it.

PS: A few of the graphs will get prediction graphs soon, I just need enough historical data to actually be able to predict something. Smiley

Have fun Smiley

I love RRDTool  Smiley

Warning : this question is for coinGeek and is actually about middlecoin.

First : nice work !

Second : have you considered using RRDTool for the graphs ? The gifs would take less space than all the raw datas in the javascript file.
Maybe you are more limited by your CPU than by your bandwidth.

2) Do we pay not too much fees?
You're paying attention to the wrong number.  you're worried about 4% when you should really be concerned with net income.

go to a 0% pool, and figure out how much you make, and go to middlecoin, and figure out how much you make after 3.8% fee.

you will net more from middlecoin.  i frankly don't care if middlecoin takes 10% if they're giving me a higher net return.

I don't expect any tech support or uptime from a 0% pool.  you get what you pay for.

+1

Just want to say THANKS to h2o.

This pool has everything I want :
  • h2o is better than I could become, and if I wanted to upgrade my trading skills, I would have to spend more time than I can afford
  • the website is so web 1.0. Fewer ways to hack.
  • I really don't care if I don't have realtime statistics as long as my miners mine
So I think your fee is totally ok.

So thank you (and other people who participate in the pool I don't know about), and if I can help for coding something (I do not want access to anything, or a part of the fee !), I'd be glad to help.
