I also got scammed by this site  Undecided I was in a hurry and fell for the false review site. I was sure this was the same site that empire market recommended, but apparently not... The weirdest thing is I can still see the deposit I made when I log in and check the balance or if I look up the deposit address on blockchain explorer, it's like they are juste sitting there. Live and learn, at least I won't fall for

I get it, but I think you should see it as a step in the right direction. If this hasn't triggered a relapse it means you are to the point where you are strong enough to see this and keep in control. Each time you see it it will be easier and that is progress. I think your recovery should ultimately not depend on you never being exposed to the substance in any way as it will happens from time to time even if you try to avoid it. There is things you don't have control over, but how you react to them is entirely yours. Good luck, what you are doing is hard and you get my respect for giving it your best.

There's two cases where I would seriously consider selling my long term stash: 1. if it could pay my mortgage, 2. if it would allow me to retire (i.e. work only if I want to)

I have a question about how multiple pools are handled.

Its mentioned in the manual on page 7: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/blob/master/manual/Antminer%20Manual_EN.pdf

Quote
AntMiner can set up three mine pools, the priority decreases from first pool (pool 1) to third pool (pool 3). The low priority pool will start to work, only when the high priority pool encounter fault.

"raising the bar" would have a product in a fully functional website with cart/checkout system..

Like BFL or HF?  Grin

Bitmain are setting a good example by moving past the pre-orders trend and delivering a product quickly, but I does not mean they are not lacking on other aspects. In particular communications could be better managed.

For your PSU wise, are you using the yellow +12V line from the 4pin molex (SATA/IDE) cable?

I did not use the +12V wire from the SATA/IDE cable, just the 4-pin cpu power and 6-pin pci-e cables.

If the main PCI ATX or PCI-E +12V lines are getting to the point you can't touch, you may want to check if your PSU is strong enough to support it, or if there is too much resistance on the line for whatever the reasons.

They're not that hot that I can't touch them, but they do feel hot to the touch.

The lines from the AntMiner I'm running doesn't get hot at all and it's on the 450W PSU with +12V from PCI-E and PCI ATX lines. (1 Line I double up the cable for both Yellow and Black just to be sure/safe because I want to let it run without attending the unit everyday.)

That makes 16 cables (8 yellow/8 black). I have 10 (6 on the first blade and 4 on the second), maybe that's the difference. The bottom of the PSU is getting hot as well, so maybe it's not powerful enough as you suggest. I'll see if it gets hotter with time, if it does I'll definitely get a new one.  It will run unattended most of the time so I'd like to be sure it's safe.

Same here, made the payment friday am, got the miner tuesday pm. Everything running fine, nice build and everything. Definitely not a scam. In-stock ASICs with quick delivery should be the norm, thanks to bitmain for raising the bar.

As long as your PCI-E are +12 and 4pin connector line, you are fine.  There is no need to go buy another PSU.

Use 3 cables into one side and 2 cables to the other.  It will run!  (Trust me, I tested 5-cabel configuration and it mined at 180GH/S for hours)

Everything seems to work fine the way you describe. I put the 3 cables on the blade with the control board and the other 2 on the second. The miner runs fine and it hashes as advertised (180GH/s). The power cables are a bit hot to the touch, but not extremely. I'll monitor more closely for the first days, but I guess this is expected.

Thanks for your guide, it was very helpful. I was a bit surprised by the red led at first, but since everything is running fine I guess it is normal. Maybe it's worth mentioning in the guide...

The power cables for SATA or IDE or anything spreads from those lines are 5V and it's not enough to power up the AntMiner.

Wouldn't that be the red cable on a 4-pins peripheral connector? What about the yellow and black ones? According to this they are +12V and ground http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral. Could this provide an additional pair?

The PSU I have handy is a thermaltake puperpower 500 (http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/ProductHtml/W0100RU__Feature.htm)

It has a 6 pins pci-e plug and a 4 pin 12V connector which makes 5 yellow and 5 black, what should I use for the 6th cables? Could the sata/ide cables help there? I can probably use a second 350W PSU as complement, but if there is a (safe) way to do it only with the 500 one that'd be great.

Thanks to sushi for providing the review, I am not sure I would have bought without it.
