I don't have an AppData file under my user name.

Downloading a second wallet under a different name and in a different location hasn't done anything - it still does the fast load and it still collapses at 98%.

Great news

Adding PoS is planned for litebar - but it won't be until towards the end of the year, or possibly the start of next year.
You can't just copy/paste it into the code - the blockchain doesn't have the entries needed for pos, so there is a lot of work involved

still can't get the wallet back

So I deleted all my previous LCP files except the wallet backup, and I re-downloaded it and started it again.
Exact same problem: at 98% fast load, error window comes up, Windows tries to find a solution to the problem, then it all goes to pot.

So I'm sitting with my LCP .dat file and no way to access it.

As a crypto investor, not a tech enthusiast, much as I like Litebar,  Undecided I don't want to buy any unless PoS is added.  Bitbar is more investor-friendly this way, as is LitecoinPlus and BitcoinPlus.  Dev, there needs to be incentive for people to buy and hold.  If the intention really was to be the silver equivalent of BTB, I think PoS is essential.

I went to the file location for my LitecoinPlus folder and there is no bindex0001.dat anywhere in it.  There are no .dat files at all that I can see.

I had to shut down by removing the battery on my computer after I locked up while running LCP.  Now, the blockchain won't load properly and the wallet won't open.  When it gets to 98% on the intro frame, it says it's run into an error, etc. etc.
I have a wallet back-up, but I don't know where to go from here.

this coin is very unique ... it may have an important function in the years ahead ... so it would be nice to keep it up,hope to see more thing happen in here

I agree, the concept behind it is fascinating.  I am unable, unfortunately, to get a hold of a connection, so my wallet can't load.  I hope maybe more people will come to see it as an interesting alt-coin and run their wallets.  It'll never be a major crypto, but I think it's unique enough that it could last in the peer-to-peer market.

Yeah…I'm buying as much as I can now.  Frankly, I'm amazed its still under the radar.

I am as puzzled by it as you are.
I used to own a bunch of BTG in 2014.  Sold it all off for whatever reason, got a newer computer, and now I'm thinking of getting back into it.  Bitgem has the smoothest blockchain of any crypto I've ever attempted to run.  Most other cryptos I've tried have all the stability of a rockslide.

Re: [ANN] ★LiteBar★ [LTB] - Rare Coin - Growing Fast - Now on CRYPTSY!

I guess this is the problem with a cryptocurrency that's meant as a form of bullion instead of a form of cash; it sits around in hordes.  Once production of Litebar stops, miners will rarely make money off of transaction fees.  I'm tempted to buy as much Litebar as Cryptsy can supply me, but I wonder if the inherent properties that make a cryptocurrency more advantageous over physical money (namely its ability to be transferred around the world instantly) might just disappear for Litebar.  If I have a stalled wallet holding 50 000 LTB on a thumb drive, will anybody besides hardline crypto-heads care?  Will it be entirely worthless?  Maybe I should just keep my Bitcoin.  Hell, maybe I'll give Dash (the reborn Darkcoin) a shot; considering all the problems I hear about coming out of the Bitcoin Foundation, maybe Bitcoin vs. Dash will become like Visa vs. Mastercard.

Re: ASIC miner problems

Alright, so I have everything installed.  I was following this page:

http://bitcoinbtc.net/usb-asicminer-setup-how-to-setup-usb-asicminer-block-erupter/

I am confused about the part where he says:

STEP 5: Create a Desktop Shortcut.

Refer to the directory that contains your cgminer 3.1.1 install, create a shortcut with a target command line that looks like this example:

C:\cgminer\cgminer-nogpu.exe -o [pool]:[port] -u [username].[worker] -p [password] –icarus-options 115200:1:1 –icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM4

The above line does not copy paste correctly. There is actually two hyphens prefixed before each of the icarus settings. For example:  - -icarus-options 115200:1:1 and – -icarus-timing 3.0=100 but no spaces between each set of hyphens. My friend and I were troubleshooting his new bitcoin mining toy, and after nearly a hour we realized our copy/paste all showed one hyphen instead of two.

C:\cgminer\cgminer-nogpu.exe -o [pool]:[port] -u [username].[worker] -p [password] – -icarus-options 115200:1:1 – -icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM4

You will need to add –S //./COM(x) depending the amount of devices for your particular bitcoin mining setup.

I didn't know what that meant.  So I just tried starting up the cgminer application.  It said this in DOS:

- Started cgminer 3.11.0
- USB init, open device failed, err -12, you need to install a WinUSB driver for -AMU device 2:1
- See README.txt file included for help
- Icarus detect <2:1> failed to initialise
- No deviced detected!
- Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit
- Need to specify at least one pool server.
Input server details.

When I open the window from the Device Manager titled Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM6), it reads the status as working properly.

Clearly, I'm a noob at this.  But I want to get at least some of my money's worth for this block eruptor.  Can I get some more help with this?  (I am on a Windows Vista, if I didn't mention it before)

Thank-you.  I'll see if I can get it to run.

I was planning on mining Devcoin mostly actually.  But I'll mine anything traded on Cryptsy that has a good balance of scarcity and ease of mining, provided that it doesn't slow my computer down much.

ASIC miner problems

I got an ASIC miner in the mail today.  I am having trouble getting it to do anything.

When I first put it in, it tried to install a driver, but then said it didn't exist.  I was directed to a website where I installed something called CP210x_VCP_Windows.  I installed the x64 to my Windows Vista, but now when I plug the USB in, nothing happens.  I don't see it anywhere on the system.  I obviously missed something at some point.

This ASIC miner didn't come with an instruction disc or booklet or anything.  It is right now a hot, useless bit of hardware.  Can anybody help me to get this piece working?

Hello, I'm from Canada.  Best economy in the G7, hee hee.  But honestly, I'm going to be getting into the mining soon.  I'm going to go for Bitcoin and Devcoin probably.

Re: What will you be mining in 2014

Well, being a noob to the forum, this is my first message.

I bought an ASIC miner and at the time of posting, it is currently being shipped to me.  I used to think the concept of digital currency was absurd.  However, last month, over a couple of days and watching a Money Morning report and subsequently buying Michael Robinson's how-to on Bitcoins, I am now a believer.  I am thinking 2014 is going to be the breakthrough year for cryptocurrencies, being as how so many of the world's fiat currencies are produced by countries with debt loads that will be at best difficult to deal with, and at worst, catastrophic.  I'm thinking in particular about what will happen when the U.S. Government is forced to face the fact that they cannot perpetually pile on the debt.  It will be more than just the U.S. that will suffer in the event that the U.S. Government completely loses control.  I've been thinking for some months that maybe the U.S., as a free country, will become more totalitarian in its final years of existence - sort of the opposite of the Soviet Union, a totalitarian country, that became much more free in its final years.  I am a bullion horder but I think cryptocurrencies have a lot of potential.  I like the decentralisation of economics in it.

Well, anyway, I'm hoping to mine anything I can, although Bitcoins and Devcoins are my current priorities right now.  I have to get a hold of Dinkleberg to have him open me an account on Devtome, since I love writing and I've got a couple essays sitting around I'd love to publish.  Once I get a hold of my ASIC miner in a few days I'll be asking somebody how it works, haha.

Yeah, so, here's to the cryptocurrencies we seek, and good luck to all of you enlightened folk on this forum.
