I am a bit confused on what are the important parts to save for your wallet
If you only have your seed left (the words that is, written down on a paper or something) can you restore your whole wallet as new if everything else where lost?
Do you still need to remember your password?
What about the wallet file?
What of these things are critical to remember or keep?
Are there recorded cases of theft from secured wallets? hackers getting in?

1gh is the only pool that makes the payout to your wallet automatically like this? ./minerd -a keccak -o stratum+tcp://maxpool.1gh.com:17333 -u mRQmzB5nzqw4Lx1gvEF7uREBqPv5A6jBYJ -p x
How do you change that code so it works with another pool such as Ypool or Maxcoin pool?
The code on those site involve a worker name, not the wallet adress like this?

I have started to mine on ypool but i still dont get the "shares" thing even after reading the faq.
I have noticed that in my cmd window the shares starts at 0/0 and builds up. Now i have about 48/47 or something
Does this mean i get more share the longer I mine? I have noticed it resets to 0 again if i close the window and start it again? So to get as much as possible you should never close it?

They said they have released a windows wallet. I did not see any difference of it though from the first program they released (all in cmd window)
I have an adress to my wallet, but i dont know how to access it
Can someone please help? Even to just create a compeltely new wallet so i can at least put my new funds in it.. Or could you store your coins in a big exchange site such as coins-e ?

I mined some Maxcoins directly to my adress I recieved by doing the "minerd getnewadress"
However I adjusted the config.bat file after this to mine from a pool and now it seems i cant check my balance anymore?
Anyway, is there a way to make a completely new wallet and adress that i can deposit my fund to? (the funds i have stored in a mining pool that is)

*Note: Back up your wallet before update.
1 Run your maxcoind.exe --daemon
2 Open a new cmd window and go to the folder where you have your maxcoind.exe and tipe maxcoind backupwallet (location)
*(location: where you want to locate your wallet.dat backup)
3 Unzip the archives and run maxcoin-qt
Let it sinc and you will see your balance

Do we need to do do the backupwallet command. Is it not enough to just copy the wallet.dat file to a new location?

What do I adjust in this tutorial to mine on Ypool instead? Should I still just put in my wallet adress or should i direct it to a worker i create on ypool? I dont get that part..

I was running 1gh pool. How do I run Ypool? Do i just need to switch out the info in the _start.bat file and if so to what?
Ypool is windows only :-( But if you're using Linux I guess it should be possible to use the Ypool if you install 'wine' first. This is a software package the let's you emulate a Windows environment (http://www.winehq.org/download/)
Ypool says on their website: "A Linux port of the pool miner is on the way! For the moment we ask Linux users to use wine."
Unfortunately I'm a total n00b. Maybe Instacashs knows how to switch to Ypool using 'wine' for Linux?
I use windows, so how do I mine ypool?

No its just if you do on a service like Digital ocean, you can use windows azure too.
Its not hard to do, just follow the steps described in the first page and you will mining on cloud.

On my computer i just needed to download the zip from 1GH and then adjust the _start.bat file with my Wallet adress.
Cant I do the same from a cloud computer that I hire on digitalocean? DO i need to go through all those steps, i dont understand them :/ Can please explain?
i supose that till step 8 you´re done.
Once you receive the user and password at yoour email, log in to your droplet via SSH (PUTTY) You can download for free. Google it.
The follow the steps. You have to tipe or copy/paste the code once per line:
8. Relocate into the home directory

cd ~
9. sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=64M count=16 press intro and wait till its completed then tipe the next command from the 9 step.
When you finish all, change the wallet adress posted in the command line to run the miner for your adress.

lets see..I opened Putty and put in my IP adress I got in my email.
I did not see anywhere to put in my username and password though?

Press yes and loging with your user and password provided in your email.
log in as: root press enter and then you´ll see another line below to enter your password. Tipe the password and press enter.
Once you finish it, start with step 8 and continue with all the comands till "strip minerd" then can run the miner:
./minerd -a keccak -o stratum+tcp://maxpool.1gh.com:17333 -u mRQmzB5nzqw4Lx1gvEF7uREBqPv5A6jBYJ -p x (Change the red marked adress for your wallet adress)
Done!

Can someone please explain as if I was 5. I have solo mining working, but that does not seem to yield any coins so I want to try pool mining. I got my wallet adress by typing "getnewaddress".
So what do I do now to start pool mining?
