"An error occurred while attempting to verify Thomas Voegtlin (https://electrum.org) (7F9470E6): Invalid digest algorithm."
That's rare... the Key-ID looks fine but where did you downloaded the pubkey?
How about GPG, have you downloaded the latest version from the legit source or is it preinstalled in your system?
Try to get everything to the latest version, then retry.

For reference, here's a reliable source of their public keys: github.com/spesmilo/electrum/tree/master/pubkeys

The problem was with my PGP keys.
They were very old, from 2013. I deleted the old ones and created two new keys, and I was able to verify Thomas Voegtlin's public key.

Have you setup an Electrum wallet already where your Trezor is setup as the signing device? Do you already have some experience in using your Trezor together with Electrum? (I have doubts, you have any experience yet. I mean, a or rather any Trezor doesn't have a lot of keys...)

If not, I would highly recommend that you create a Testnet3 or Testnet4 wallet, get some appropriately matching Testnet coins and practice, practice, practice.

With Testnet coins, which you can get practically for free if you ask here nicely, you can gain experience to do all sorts of things with your Trezor connected to Electrum.

Gain experience, boosts confidence.

Oh, and by the way, do you think, we can read your mind and know which Trezor you have? No, we can't!

How about you tell us also which Trezor you have? Might be a good idea, actually.

My Trezor model is “Trezor Safe 3.”
I don't know if it's possible for it to work with Testnet coins and how to set it up to work with them - I even think it's impossible.
A long time ago, in 2015-2016, I worked with Electrum and Ledger HW.1, and my seed is 24 words from Ledger HW. 1, but I bought a Trezor because I found its buttons more convenient than those on the Ledger, and I have a mild form of Parkinson's and my hands shake, but it turned out that I can't enter the seed with them either, and now I'm waiting for my son, who lives in another city, to be free to help me.

I bought a Trezor hardware wallet and have never used it, but now I need to use it together with Electrum so that I can reuse the same address that I have verified - see https://bitcointalk.org/ index.php?topic=5549192.msg65563515#msg65563515

If possible, please provide guidance on how to sign messages and transactions with the Electrum & Trezor combination, which keys to press on Trezor.

From the email that Kraken sent to you, you can use three methods to verify your withdrawal address, it may not be necessary be signing message with bitcoin address.

The 2FA verification will be very fast. Or you did not set 2FA on the exchange? Set it and you can use it.
Or if you have small amount on your wallet, you can send it to your address on the exchange. But I still prefer the 2FA.

My question is whether and how it is possible to sign a message using Electrum&Trezor.
I have not worked with the Electrum&Trezor combination before, so I would appreciate your help with signing a message and sending bitcoins.
It is possible.

After you have connected your Trezor wallet with Electrum, click on tools -> sign/verify message. Input the address and the message and click on sign. It will generate you the signature.

The message, your bitcoin address and the signature are what you needed on kraken.

Thank you for your reply
In this thread  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5548990.msg65563546#msg65563546 it is mentioned that the new version of Electrum cannot sign legacy addresses starting with 1, which is exactly my case.
What could be the solution to this issue?

PS
I am using Electrum on Tails without persistence, but I did make a backup (Files -> Save backup -> Backup Directory)
About the signed message that others have suggested; there's no standard way to do it yet.

So if you decided to use your Electrum and it's not an old legacy wallet with '1' addresses, you should include a note stating that it's signed with Electrum.
Otherwise, the recipient might use an incompatible client or message verification tool and fail to verify your message.

For example: "This was signed with Electrum and must be verified using Electrum or other compatible clients/tools"

What is the problem with legacy addresses starting with 1 and why can't Electrum sign them, and how can it be solved? Which old version of Electrum should we use if we have such addresses?

I received an email from Kraken
Quote
We’re reaching out to let you know about upcoming updates to how crypto deposits and withdrawals are processed. As we have recently acquired a MiCA license, these changes are designed to align crypto with the security standards already in place for traditional financial systems.

What’s Changing

Beginning August 1st, 2025, some deposits and withdrawals will require additional verification steps. These updates are part of the EU’s broader regulation of crypto assets.

Here’s how we’re keeping it simple:

Wallet Verification for deposits from private wallets: If your private wallet deposit or withdrawal exceeds €1,000 in value, or if you’re using a new wallet address, you’ll be prompted to verify your wallet ownership.

Future Ease: Once a wallet is verified, future transactions with that same address won’t need further verification.

Seamless Verification Options

We’ve made the verification process straightforward and secure through one of three methods:

Self-Certification: Verify ownership with a simple one-click process and a quick 2FA security check.

Satoshi Test: Send a small transaction from your wallet to confirm ownership. We’ll guide you every step of the way.

Digital Signature: Connect your wallet and sign a unique message we generate. The message is non-transactional: signing it doesn’t move any funds. It simply confirms that you control the private key for the address.

What This Means for You

Starting August 1, 2025, when making a qualifying deposit or withdrawal, you’ll be guided through the wallet verification process. With verified wallets, your experience remains fast and seamless for future transactions.

If you have any questions, Kraken Support is here to help.

We’re committed to providing you with a secure, reliable, and user-friendly

I keep my seed on a paper wallet and will need to use it at the end of the year, so I bought a Trezor hardware wallet—the problem is that it has to work with Elektrum so that the same address can be used multiple times and the change can be returned to the address I have already signed.

My question is whether and how it is possible to sign a message using Electrum&Trezor.
I have not worked with the Electrum&Trezor combination before, so I would appreciate your help with signing a message and sending bitcoins.

Sorry for my bad English - I am from Bulgaria

No one. It's "airdropped merits". When the merit system was introduced, everyone received the minimum amount of merits according to their rank.

I had not written in the forum for a long time, and I was surprised to be a newbie again  Grin.
This system for me is a bullshit and serves the group of spammers in the forum and the group of old users is lost - Satoshi Nakamoto surely he is a newbie and I am proud to be in a group with him  Grin .
In my opinion, merit points must also be earned for each year from the registration of an account.

why create a new ann thread? seems that this project has been here for quite sometime already. the current volume in crex is not looking good. is this the reason why you are "reviving" this coin?

When they start their stock exchange will  their coin expensively on other exchanges.
The important thing is that the project is  still in progress and working and that they have assembled a good team of developers.

I find more one issue when I try to send transaction.
Can't send transaction with Ledger when "Use change addresses" in settings is unchecked.
I like to use the same address for change of transaction to consolidate bitcoins in one address but with Ledger this is impossible.
Give me error "Multiple outputs with no change not supported"
I report this issue here https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/1679

Please provide guide how to send transaction.
I don't know how to use security card for 2fa with Electrum.
No body use Electrum&Ledger to send transactions?

Ok. I sended a small amount to bittrex using ledger and it worked like that.

When I tried to send a transaction as usual there appeard a messagebox named "Ledger Wallet Authentication".
Looked like this

It asked me to match the character between the stars with my security card.
In this case the *2* was meant. So I took my security card got to "Digits" and looked what character or number was there below (white sign on black background). I typed this in the blank field and clicked ok.
Then it asked me again but a different character was put in stars. I looked again at my security card for the character. Typed in the character/number below it and pressed ok.
I had to do this process 4 times and finally the payment was send.
That's it

Thank you very mach @wosch76.
Did you plug and unplug ledger during the send process?
no I didn't. I let it plugged in.

Thank you very mach again for guide it is useful for this who buy Nano
I will setup my Nano today.
May be some moderator can pin this topic because in documentation no guide how to setup and use Electrum with Leger

It does seem to be down at the moment.. Was there something in particular you wanted?

I just wanted to give it a try, i never used it before.

You will love it

Really? well, i have downloaded it but haven't send any bitcoin to it yet. Will send some when i get enough from my sig campaign.

Don't use Electrum for your sig campaign because there are many small transactions with many outputs an you have to pay large amount for transaction fee - use one online wallet to collect more large amount of bitcoins an then send them to Electrum.
