Re: [ANN] Amoveo blockchain [ Prediction Markets | Turing complete channels ]

The Amoveo community has already been mining the live blockchain for a few months.  If you want some Veo, you can probably buy some from Zack or other (mining) community members.

Hi Zack,

I notice on youe web site that we can mine Amoveo using Nvidia or CPU. Do you have AMD miner on Windows we can use please?
Are you going to do some sort of funding for example a contribution (Not ICO- nothing will be promises) to be able to hire maybe a web dev, etc ...
In exchange distribute some Amoveo coin?
Again I'm very exited about this project and Good luck

You need both.  There's alot of coins with good tech that never got off the ground because of bad (or non-existent) marketing.  The sad part is that those coins have all been superseded by newer coins with better tech.

I tried that for a few years.  It costs too much money to buy up all the Alt coins in any significant amount.  Plus the total amount you'll lose will be more than the amount you spent.  It is only recently (like starting this year), that the run up in all crypto has given me a net profit.

Re: Btc and altcoins after segwit

Even though I support Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin Segwit, I know that Bitcoin Cash will be the lesser chain until maybe November.  If Bitcoin Segwit does not activate 2MB blocks in Nov, then there is a really good chance that Bitcoin Cash will become the real chain.

Ya. Blockstream/Bitcoin Core devs have been known to not keep their word.

I think BCC will run until November as a contingency to see if core will actually implement 2x. If core does not, then BCC will be 2x. If core does, then BCC goes away. It's quit simple its really up to core to decide if they will honor 2x or not. BCC is just there as a backup because with SegWit being an irreversible change, any engineer/dev/ops team would like to have a contingency regardless of factions, its a saftey measure..

Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling

Indeed.  Alot of people have no interest in the solution to an artificially manufacturered problem (ie: Segwit).  If on-chain scaling occurs, there is no need for centralized validating nodes.  We can just do transactions on the blockchain, as originally intended.

What is the exact reason behind it for developing this BCC as many people don't any interest in splitting?

Many other people do have a strong interest in splitting. Why does the reason need to be any deeper than that?

That's the issue people have with Segwit.  Once you go Segwit, you can't go back because all transactions done under Segwit (and all blocks/forks after Segwit) will become invalid without the centralized Segwit nodes validating the transaction.  This will forever give the validating Segwit nodes power over Bitcoin's destiny.  And it'll only take less than 6 years for a wallet developer (ie: Bitcoin Core) to centralize and completely usurp Satoshi's vision.

Reading the many responses on this topic is making me more confused. I am just an ordinary guy holding a little amount of Bitcoin and I am essentially on the dark as to what can happen this coming August 1. Will there really be a fork or a split in Bitcoin or is this fork just a negligible decision of a group of miners which will eventually not affect the whole Bitcoin?

I have been reading about Bitcoin Cash too and I understand that it can be a new altcoin bearing the name Bitcoin but this will not have any major effect on the real Bitcoin. Now, if I have some Bitcoin left in a well-known exchange will it mean that my coin is automatically lost or it depends on how that exchange will protect their members' funds?

Things are really mired in the mud right now as we are all just expressing my ideas and opinions here and it seems that nobody can speak with certainty on what can be. Must be another manifestation on Bitcoin's decentralized set-up.

Segwit was not in the original intent of Bitcoin.  The original intent of Bitcoin was to be a peer-to-peer electronic currency.  The original intent did not have to rely on a secondary transaction layer with exchanges and other nodes determining what is and is not a valid/good transaction.  A bigger blocksize will allow more peer-to-peer transactions, without having to rely on centralized nodes; THAT is closer to the original intent of Bitcoin.

Sure, you can argue that a 8MB blocksize will create more centralization in miners, but miners will always go to whatever blockchain that will make them more money.  It is the users, not the miners, that will determine the value of a blockchain.

So it's 100% altcoin creation. How can it be Satoshi original idea when his original idea still going strong?

I agree.  This coin is closer to Satoshi's original vision than "Proof by Authority"/segwit.

Cross-Posting here from my original on Reddit /btc sub, to get this going 'viral' ASAP...!

Why not "BC" Ticker Symbol, for Bitcoin Cash ? ?
submitted 15 minutes ago by KeyJockey

Hey since two-letter symbols are allowed (see "SC" for SiaCoin) why not use simply "BC" for "Bitcoin Cash" instead of BCC (since it's conflicting with BitConnect)

This is SHORT, SIMPLE and DIRECT just like Bitcoin Cash's simple and direct approach to the scaling debate (just raise block size rather than changing and complicating everything via segwit etc).

At first, BC can stand for "B"itcoin "C"ash, for now... but then when it becomes dominant it'll just stand for simply "B"it"C"oin again Smiley

Yeah, I know it's a pain in the ass to change things once people have already started using "BCC"... BUT it will be a lot HARDER to change this once the coin actually launches and exists. This whole Bitcoin Cash thing is happening so fast, mistakes are bound to be made and I think "BCC" was a mistake.

The community can FIX this if this idea goes viral, FAST...!! Gentlemen! Fire Up Your Mouses and Click! Click! Click! to get this going ! !

P.S. I searched around on coinmarketcap and coincap, google, etc and did not find any other crypto using "BC" yet... if anyone knows otherwise please post but it DOES appear to be unused ! !

BTSN - Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto or BCSN or BSN.

Re: Bitcoin Unlimited??

Original devs? o.O  Since when did the developers of a bitcoin wallet become the original devs?

any fork of bitcoin that can not gain enough support will become useless. it doesn't matter what it is. and so far community has shown that they have more support for SegWit because it comes from the Core developers that have been coding for bitcoin for man years. so even if they are not tech savvy they go with Core that they have always trusted not a new one.

that means even if BU or any other proposal in the future forks, they will gain very small support and eventually become like the many altcoins that have forked from bitcoin in the past and die off over time.
that's the closest explanation about this btu if wont gather enough support will die since the original dev are not willing to let them to make any entry

You should just distribute the ERC20 tokens (or forget about the ERC20 tokens and just release the real AE tokens when the mainnet launches).  The price and what not is irrelevant if Zach (and co) deliver a good product.

Everyone,

I am interested in learning your opinion on the AE distribution.

It is obvious that everyone wants the AE, but don't you think the timing is not good for distribution (I know some of you do)?

Bears rule the markets.

What do you think?

Re: i think "bitcoin unlimited" is better than segwit.

To me, segwit (by itself, without any block scaling) is just Proof by Authority.  And segwit doesn't really solve anything because, as more and more transactions get recorded on the blockchain, the size of the blocks will have to increase anyway.

Bitcoin Unlimited scaling up the blocksize makes sense, and it'll be good practice for when they have to scale up the blocksize again and again as Bitcoin becomes more and more popular/accepted.

Re: Thoughts on Minereum
by

Personally, I don't think Minereum has any value.

You can take a look at Minereum's source code, itself:
https://etherscan.io/address/0x1a95b271b0535d15fa49932daba31ba612b52946#code

Minereum arbitrary created 3200000000000 tokens (for each of their genesis address) on line 27, and will "mine" 32000 tokens every Ethereum block until Ethereum block number 3597381; their mathematical formula for creating new tokens is just addition.

Minereum does talk about using their tokens to help other people create ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum, but.. why can't people just follow Ethereum's guide on ERC-20 tokens?   https://www.ethereum.org/token

Yup.  If I believe an omnipotent, omniscient being told me to do something, I would do it.  If I get caught and punished as a result, then obviously that being wanted me to get punished; or I'm so far gone that any punishment done to me at that point would not matter.

Once again, murder is murder... good luck explaining the voices in your head to the police

If God, appeared in all of his power and glory, commanded anyone to do something - I doubt anyone would refuse.  So if God commanded me to murder homosexuals, I would.  If God commanded me to murder heterosexuals, I would.  From our point of view, we only have to obey.  After all, it could be the same sort of test God gave Abraham - to see if Abraham would sacrifice Isaac.

Re: What is the future of ethereum classic ??

ETC is the original Ethereum chain.  So yes, the premines/ICO in the ETH chain also exists in the ETC chain.  ETC. however, no longer has Vitalik developing it - so that should be a plus for you.

I hold a few myself and I am really interested in ETC.

There is something that bothers me though - ETC being a fork of ETH has the same huge amount of premined coins? If this is true, I am not sure it will end well, I don't trust Vitalik.

Re: Finsbury Park attack:one dead in 'potential terrorist attack' near London mosque

I think he was implying that the constant portrayal of ALL Muslims as terrorists in the West has caused Western nutjobs to "take matter into their own hands".

The attacker has been identified as 47-year old white Christian named Darren Osborne from Wales. I don't condone the attack, and I never celebrate the deaths of innocent civilians. But it is important not to ignore the causes behind this attack. We need to study and analyze what provoked Mr. Osborne to act in such a dastardly manner.

Which is? If you are going to say that the acts of Muslims provoked him then I believe that Muslims could say exactly the same thing, how their countries has been taken away from them, how they live in hunger, without their families etc. I believe no one could deny the fact that the U.S and many other countries are the main reason of what's happening on the middle east since a few years now.
