Re: Hacking Antminer S17's and T17's because.... are we up to these already????

Would you guys recommend Antminer T17 at this point in time? I want to get into ASIC (bitcoin) mining and I know a local reseller that is offering them for $1200 used. I have read they can be problematic but that price point is appealing. FYI I pay 6 cents per kWh.
I can muscle in a fee of 15 sats a byte but if you go too low and get stuck you screw this up. Waiting till next adjustment may help out. So do not rush and pay too low.
I am not giving out payment address to everyone yet.
Next adjustment is about midnight east coast time.
I'm feeling lucky and think we'll hit a block! I do have a couple questions as this is my first time.
1. How much hashing do you plan on renting during our run? 2. How long will you rent for? 3. After factoring in the above two questions, what do you think our odds of finding a block are given the massive difficulty decrease headed our way?
With the difficulty drop coming up this week, I want to play the odds with you guys. I recently turned on some old ASICs (s9) to test my luck. But if you plan on doing another hashrate rental once the difficulty drops, I would love to join!
Now that I have both an S1 and S5 mining at the same time, is it recommended that I use a separate worker for each miner or can they both use the same one?
Same worker is fine for both. You'll barely notice the hash rate difference at the pool with the S1 included anyway, due to variance. It'll probably fluctuate between 1100 to 1300 GH/s total poolside.
Thank you. Now I was just looking at my S5 miner status and it turns out that it has about twice as many discarded shares (40,000) as it does accepted shares (about 20,000) after it has been running for 15 1/2 hours. My S1 after it has been running for 1 day and 7 hours shows 39,500 accepted and about 7,000 discarded. This doesn't seem right that the s5 has such a high discard rate and is churning out shares at almost the same rate as the s1. What is the deal or is this not of concern?
Also, is it normal for a pool to only find 1-3 blocks a day? I think I may need to find a better pool than I'm in currently. What are everyone's thoughts on ELIGIUS's pool?
Thanks for the help guys!

Why do people think an S1 will ever earn $15 after electricity costs?! Before you factor in the cost of electricity, it only earns $0.80 per day. And at 2w/GHs it will probably cost a $1.00 per day to run, lol.
Have fun and get rich! What could possibly go wrong?
I'm not doing this to get rich. It's more of just a hobby really. No need to try and belittle people on an internet forum.
Any concerns about my bitcoin wallet when switching out my hard drive for an SSD?
Well, as far as hobbies go, I guess it's a cheap price to pay. Some hobbies could cost you 10's of thousands of dollars.
And is this your first time on an internet forum? Just asking.
No I get what you're saying it just came off a little rude I guess. Forget I said anything.
Anyways for those of you wondering, keep in mind I DO NOT pay for electricity, I have an antminer s1 running and just ordered an antminer s5 while it was 15% off. As one of the guys said above, I could easily see this hobby become an addiction of mine.
Also, does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on the antimer s1 upgrade kit? Thanks

bitmain has a good miners, you got exelent deal 200gh/s for15$, where ?
Found a deal on Amazon.
I recently bought a SSD for my laptop and was wondering berfore I install if there are any complications while swapping hard drives and re installing windows in regards to my bitcoin wallet?
Thank you guys for your advice. It is much appreciated. I ended up not going with either of the ones I listed in the OP, but instead paid less than $15 for a 200 Gh/s miner.
Thanks again!

I'm thinking about buying some mining hardware and have a few questions. I looked online and stumbled upon the following products
