Rasperry pi 3, anyone?
by
wersaup
on 21/03/2016, 20:20:01 UTC

Thanks for the answer first of all. And yes, while the coins werent encrypted, the drive holding the coins was. Since the device was seized as potentially stolen(bought it on the net, turned out that it isnt a smart move to register equipment you buy with the vendor after all), it was never searched.

Very Old Wallet - will it update flawlessly?
by
wersaup
on 18/03/2016, 13:25:41 UTC
Hey there.

In a couple hours i will receive back a laptop from the police that was seized in 2011. The computer contains an old bitcoin instance, if i remember correctly it should be around version 0.28, just short of 180k blocks. The wallet on said installation should contain several hundred bitcoin, so obviously before doing anything I'm gonna back the whole thing up.

My question is -

A) the computer in question runs windows xp and a debian etch or lenny... Will a current bitcoin-qt run on windows xp?
B) if i just upgrade the bitcoint client(i know there was some break in wallet compatibility and probably more than one libdb upgrade in between, which normally should have just transitioned)… will it convert the wallet to current standards and be able to use it?
C) if not, is the old pywallet still around and compatible allowing me to just dump the private keys?
D) if none of the above, what should i do?

Ps: i know for certain that the wallet isnt encrypted - the feature was too new for me back then to be used, besides the root partition is crypted(and i still have keys)

Re: Any blockchain browsers allow bitcoind RPC calls in thier API?
by
wersaup
on 12/07/2015, 09:06:51 UTC
I thought I saw one of the many blockchain browsers that allowed some of the bitcoind RPC commands like "getinfo" or "getmempoolinfo" through.  Basically a public facing bitcoind server.  I'm sure that under the covers the RPC calls are proxied and throttled, but I could have sworn one of the big providers was offering this.  Don't think it was blockchain.info, but someone.

Any thoughts?

My goal, if you ask, is to work a python script using "estimatefee" and "estimatepriority" to provide some feedback to current mempool transactions.

I doubt you will be lucky with this, since calling bitcoind via rpc kinda locks down the daemon for a short time, if a public service allowed this, well, they'd be unusable due to the sheer amount of calls. Most blockchain browsers probably use a modified bitcoind version that pushes relevant information directly out of bitcoind, rather than having to rely on polling bitcoind. what you can do however is create a slimmed down bitcoind yourself, that just keeps mempool. should require fairly less resources than a full bitcoind but still do the job

More Anonymous Polish Debit Cards with IBAN Account
by
wersaup
on 15/04/2015, 21:48:58 UTC
So, I got about a dozen polish prepaid debit cards here, Bank brand is Pekao.
I got PLN and Euro ones
The cards are the usual deal:

Yearly Limit: 10.000 PLN(2500 EUR)
Daily Limit: 500 PLN(150 EUR)
Cards Valid for: 3 Years
ATM Withdrawal: 3 PLN (2.50 EUR)

As usual, Cards come with their own IBAN bank account, and since this bank is rarely being used by the other sellers here, they can still successfully be used to verify Paypal and withdraw from a paypal account.

Why am I selling? Simple. I bought some of these cards in January 2013, paid about 15 BTC per card back then(pretty much turned out 120 dollar per card). It felt like a rip off back then, but the cards were worth it. This time I decided to get them myself, a) to save money since I already had a trip to poland planned, b) since I wanted the same brand again. Bought a couple more, since I figured some of you guys might want some too(and I can at least turn a small profit :-))

As we're used to, cards come in sealed envelopes, you have to register them yourself, Bank's website accepts fake data or your real address(within the EU), Bank has an english language version of their banking interface.

Now the most important stuff:
Cards Prices: 0.11 BTC per card(about 25 Dollar)
Shipping: Europe in a neutral envelope: 0.01 BTC
Shipping outside Europe in a neutral envelope: 0.02 BTC

If you buy multiple cards, I'll ship them in a single envelope, so shipping cost stays at the above rates

Also wenn du dich davon trennen willst, kannst mir gerne deine Preisvorstellung
(+ Versand nach DE) als PM zuschicken. Danke!

Re: Affordable phone verifications (Text Message and Voice)
by
wersaup
on 02/04/2015, 22:55:35 UTC
hi, in theory google voice works for some cases, however if you want to verify a google account or a google hosted service account(e.g. ingress) they wont work. also if you need more than one verification, google wont work again. And finally, there are services which have detection inbuilt to find out whether they are "talking" to a voip account(keyword also: AMD, answering machine detection). My verifications work around this. you can verify any account you like, and I can even offer to keep the number online for future use. I am currently building a service around this which will totally automate the process(which is what I hope will finally make my service superior to the other offers around here, since you dont have to rely on anyone being online for this to work).

Apart from that, google voice numbers these days have been used a lot, and finally, since google doesnt randomly assign numbers, some services like ebay have started collecting google voice(and other voip services) number assignment ranges, thus either rejecting a verification based on the number used or internally flagging the verified account.

Finally, my service is also being able to send out text messages, on systems that wont give you a call/text, but rather have you text a confirmation somewhere

the above rate is for the US, other countries can be done(might be more expensive depending on the country, but can be done, for other countries you can inquire though)

Affordable phone verifications (Text Message and Voice)
by

Hi,

I am offering affordable phone verifications. I am currently planning on making this a fully automated service(Posted an inquiry on this and got some PMs showing interest in such a service). Until my service is up I'd offer this on a per customer basis.

For 0.01 BTC I will receive a phone verification call or text message(preferred) and get you the code.

PM me or contact me here!

I'm sorry and I dont mean to insult you, but paypal from a new fresh account is rather risky I think. I could agree to a bank wire if you're living in a sepa country, other than that I'd really prefer taking btc with Escrow.

Service Discovery - automated text message/phone verification
by
wersaup
on 01/04/2015, 10:51:39 UTC
Hi, I read another thread the other day about people offering bulk phone numbers...

I had the idea for some time now, and I want to know whether there's actual interest in a service like this:

basically, I'd provide a service that you guys can use to verify whatever service that needs a phone verification.
You would go onto my page, pay 0.01 BTC, and get a number in return. You enter the number with the service you want to verify with,
and as soon as the call went through or the text message arrives you'd be able to play/view it in browser.
The number would get deleted afterwards(unless you need it to stay active and are willing to pay about 0.01 BTC per month for that)

My service would not require an account for basic use, could have an account feature for bulk use and discounts on bulk use though.
I would also provide an API where you'd just poll a bitcoin address, make arrangements to transfer btc to that address, once it's visible you get a phone number, you make your arrangement, once the message/call went in you can poll the text message/phone call.

Is there any interest in a service like this?

WTS uploaded.net accounts(2x 3 month access)
by
wersaup
on 31/03/2015, 20:50:46 UTC
Hi, I have two uploaded.net accounts here. I bought them today using phone payment(wanted to see whether referal works, was advised to do so by ul.to support on wjunction forums), however I dont need those accounts, so I'm offering them here.
The new price of those accounts is 25 euro, I'd say if I get rid of them for 20 euro I'd be happy (so about 0.09 BTC for each account)

If you're interested please pm me or answer here
