You could consider putting that $500 into something that not only appreciates in value itself but also something that can earn you additional revenue that can then be used to expand your portfolio further. That includes projects like COSS, PPT, SPECTRE, PPP. All of these prices are relatively low in relation to the upside potential in 2018 beyond.

COSS holders already get a % of fees from the platform in various tokens.
The other three options above whould have their platforms up and running within the coming months.

LTC - c'mon we all know this lol
VERI - targeting bigger funds first rather than plebs first
SALT - you'll see...
PLR - if they can really achieve their awesome roadmap within schedule and have wide adoption of their wallet by many of the hot icos coming next year

These have potential to hit $100 in that time-frame too but yet less likely to do so in 2018 (I hope I'm wrong and they do go to $100+ in 2018 though):

Ardor - mainly due to the same lack of powerful marketing that caused nxt to not reach anywhere substantial in price. Maybe 2018 will be different with lessons learned?
IOTA - possible but may take more time to build that kind of traction with their real world IoT projects plus hype from their ternary chips. higher probability in 2019.
ARK - should their cross chain stuff come together nicely

while to an extent I would agree with you all if you don't help out those that bought from him (which includes me) I also believe that some efforts should be made to enable buyers to get their tokens from the freeze. I bought 85k old IOTA (small pieces at different occasions) and got 25k out of that in my IOTA account when CH and CfB worked something out to do enable that. Seeing the 25k being done made me trust him to buy the remaining 60k from him..which of course was my error--if we have come to this juncture.

I know another friend that bought from him and that didn't get an initial amount as he bought after that updated genesis address list was done. If you guys don't help, he stands to have 0 IOTAs. Most of CH's buyers were pledging to donations based off the hope that the remaining deals will be followed through given the addition of some to the genesis list. I donated out of my 25k and and intended to donate more when I get the rest. While I know iotatoken and CfB are really not responsible for actions of these buyers, I would still hope that they can assist in some way that you guys can help right this possible wrong done. IOTA hasn't launched yet and while it strives to be decentralised, while under development maybe you all can help us buyers out. If not for whatever reason you want to stand by then I guess there anything I can say to persuade you all to help fix this.

That's how I got my initial amount in the seed address I generated.

I was looking for the original seed listing to subtract the amount from myself but as far as I could tell the original post was edited so it contained all the new addresses with the new credited amounts.

Cfb what if you add up all those addresses in his post that you credited to (it totals: (359k old notation) 997851629000 iotas [edited - miscalulated before]) and subtract that from the original seed addresses list to determine which account is his.

Edit: as you may be busy working on the new version if you still have the original snapshot list you can post that with the newer one and we can all check and confirm the address to freeze.

I originally had pledge to towards the deal with it's proceeds going to foundation after...but since foundation is really the highest of priority I will donate it to foundation one time. May of us like myself bought post ICO otc -- hopefully once the sellers fulfill their orders..more donations will flow into foundation.

and the only official talk coming is 'please test' and 'please start projects, start promoting, donate to foundation' and everything is in the hands of the community now - That's an understandable pov, however, I also think that this is also being communicated a bit poorly maybe under the assumption that everyone will understand/know what to do. Let's be real..there are some just here to turn a profit or just to build projects.. and the fact is we need both persona types. However if little information is shared then people can't promote effectively nor can they build projects..the tangle is still something many devs would need to wrap their head around.

I'm not a crypto dev but I've been doing my part with testing and talking to people about it in my region but where I'm from it's to much to wrap their heads around...generally it's probably years behind IoT progression. It's extremely hard to get bitcoin here far less for any other crypto technology to adopt in businesses etc..I only have a tiny portion of IOTA and still pledged. All that to say that I'm still trying to do my part. I want to see this succeed and add technology value..not only monetary value.

A few suggestions:

-Email to the mailing list as mentioned in my other post above.
-Setup the foundation and deal addresses even though we're still in beta..hopefully we won't have to rollback/repeat those txns - We don't need pledges now..we need real actionable IOTA transfers to accounts towards these goals.
-Try a shorter term positive reinforcement strategy..e.g inform us of a small bit of not so cryptic info of plans/easter eggs/whatever and the only way we can hear the next piece of nugget info is for the community to do X or Y in Z timeframe -- for instance 200k txns = info nugget 1, 500 txns = info nugget 2 etc. It can hopefully psychologically increase urgency to the situation.

I could be wrong but maybe those things might help..

We're only about 62% of the total foundation goal...that said, not everyone may be following this thread or on rocketchat...how about sending out something to all the mailing list as well to inform everyone of this and the importance of meeting the remaining ~38%

It may seem redundant but in the end, it's humans we're dealing with and we all need reminders to put things into perspective and priority

At the end of the ico crowdsale,  will my current waves balance be reduced due to the total amount people invested in the past couple weeks? and is the balance I'm seeing now includes the 20%?

I posted a couple weeks back that 100% of the sale from my small pledge to deal be put back into foundation so you can add that to the list. Wish I had hundreds of thousands or millions IOTA as I would have pledged more than I have..
