CM is Clevermining.com

A lot of people seem to switch between CM, Middlecoin and Wafflepool.

Cheers.  I know of Wafflepool but hadn't heard of Clevermining until now.

It just looks like the stats are not updating, or something is "stuck" on the share processing side of things.  It will probably come right soon after the admin notices.

Any idea when H2O usually wakes up/checks in so he can fix things? Is there anyone else involved who can do so or is it a 1-man show?

I was hashing on MC overnight, but switched to CM because mediocre results are better than flying blind and then "oh, we mined a bad fork for a couple hours" or some other flop. MC has gone from leading CM and Wafflepool to beating them occasionally but doing terrible the rest of the time. I'm not going to guess which it is, if he's not paying attention then that means the pool is running on auto-pilot, and will thus be beaten by a more actively managed pool.

No idea on either count sorry.  What is CM?

I mined for one hour and 16 minutes and only got this lousy T-shirt Sad

I'd be happy if I got a T-Shirt for 1 hour 16 minutes mining :p
So far it looks like I ain't got jack shit, not only me, it's all over Twitter as well.

So at the set time I just start my wallet, wait for it to sync and start mining? Or is there something else I need to do first?

Yes,just start the wallet and start solo mining at the set time. Nothing else is needed.

What about the old blockchain data?  Does it need to be deleted?

The network port was stated to be 31212 but the wallet uses 11973 by default unless it is overridden by the conf file.

Now a new port 31616 has been specified for the relaunch.  Hopefully the wallet will be updated with the correct default port to help avoid another fork.  We shouldn't need to specify the port in the conf file, only the RPC port for solo mining should need to be specified.

DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying:
"DarkCoin is digital cash."

+1

But that's why I think its better to call it D-coin or something else (not related to dark)
New people will think that darkcoin is related to illegal things and thats not the intention, idea of it. Maybe it will scare/put off (I don't know the right word) some people...No?
The name itself will be the reason darkcoin is never widely accepted

The name is irrelevant..

That is exactly the point I was trying to make.

blah blah blah

lol nice editing.  The name is most definitely not irrelevant.  Bitcoin's success is due to the fact that the name does NOT hint at how it may be used.

Not suggesting rebranding at this stage, nor do I have any suggestions for an alternative name.  I was simply agreeing with somebody's point of view that the name darkcoin will limit it's use.  And it will.

I tend to agree with this.  The name itself will be the reason darkcoin is never widely accepted by, er, "normal" people (also can't think of the right word sorry).  It doesn't matter how great it is, give it a shady or evil sounding name and it's doomed.

The name is irrelevant, Bitcoin was not adopted because its name but more so because of libertarian values and adopters/enthusiasts being aware of what is going on the economy/banking. If dark can provide anonymous "dark" transactions it could be called purple unicorn coins for all I care.. Dark is good branding for people in the know ie tor darknet stuff. If joe blow isn't aware of what dark means he will soon enough.. with every Snowden leak or bullshit passed law/corrupt lawless judge's decision is making people more aware. It is like built in marketing because we all know what governments agenda is just like how cypress bumped up bitcoin.

I could give 2 shits about branding and market cap. Freedom is where it's at, make a coin that facilitates free commerce even silk road style commerce that bypasses bullshit laws and market cap & awareness will take care of itself. Makes me wonder why people are here promoting an anonymous coin if they care about mainstream perceptions.. perhaps cat coin is the better choice for them.

That is exactly the point I was trying to make.  As soon as the name hints that it may be used for a particular purpose, it actually makes it less useful for that purpose, especially when it comes to anonymity.  Take sexcoin for example LOL may as well have 2 for 1 hooker vouchers in your wallet and hope the wife doesn't notice  Grin

The flaw was C-CEX's. If you reverse the transactions, then that's not fair. Nobody will use C-CEX again. And it's impossible for you to decide which rates were "too high".

Yes the flaw was C-CEX's, but let's not forget that ultimate liability lies with the person who took advantage of it.  C-CEX is as much a victim as anyone else in this situation.  Yeah it sucks, but that's the way any legal system would see it.  If your car is stolen because you left the key in it, you made a stupid mistake, but you are not responsible for the loss - the theif is.  Any forex broker would reverse the transactions without question and you'd just have to suck it up.

Re: C-Cex Has Frozen Your BTC! Not to be Trusted

Can someone please explain why my BTC has been frozen.  All I did was deposit 30.56999433 DRK and trade it for 0.06266757 BTC.   How is it that my BTC is held?

Why would many suffer for the acts of one?

C-CEX has not responded to my email or Skype chat.

I see it like this...

Due to a bug in code on the c-cex exchange, someone found their account with a ton more bitcoin in it than there should be.  That user then made a conscious decision to trade the bitcoin which was not rightfully theirs.  Everyone on the other side of those trades were technically receiving stolen property.  The non-existent bitcoin (it's just a virtual exchange balance remember, not an actual bitcoin wallet) was converted into darkcoin by trading on the exchange, effectively transferring the non-existent bitcoin into other traders accounts.  The dirty darkcoin was then laundered (or tried to be) by trading for bitcoin on poloniex.

It seems both c-cex and the user who was consciously involved in this are making a great effort to retrieve lost funds.  Problem is, due to the trading at great loss, a large chunk of this bitcoin that never existed in the first place is now in the hands of everyone with whom they traded.  This is why your bitcoin balance at c-cex is frozen.

If authorities were involved, the accounts at poloniex would likely also be frozen during the investigation period.  If this were a bank error of similar scale which was deliberately taken advantage of, the person involved could end up with a prison sentence.

All my dark currently stuck in the wonderland that is cryptsy's deposit rabbit hole.

Have they officially announced that DRK is launched or what? I don't get why you guys try to send your money if it doesn't work yet.

You can create deposit addresses. Its all up and running.

Except for the actual trading part...   Roll Eyes  not to mention deposits showing up.

But if you're going to trade it then it makes sense to deposit coins as early as possible because the deposits are processed in a queue (AFAIK).

Totally.  My deposit is in that queue.  It's just not "all up and running" yet... and that deposit queue could be processed in a split second if the exchange operator wanted it to be.

If you are depositing MINT DARK or CACH coins, these markets just opened and

Thank you for your patience

Pure speculation here but I can't help thinking the truthful message is...

If you are depositing MINT DARK or CACH coins, these markets just opened and we are experiencing a flood of very useful deposits.  When we have finished using your coins to manipulate other exchanges for a while, we will pretend that your deposit has just been processed.

p2pool:
112.175.123.82:8372
112.175.123.94:8372

now has domain.
asia01.mine.nu:8372
asia02.mine.nu:8372
uswest.mine.nu:8372

Cool, thanks.

Again, Do not use an exchange address as p2pool payout address.

P2pool payout is coin generation.

Some exchange do not count it.

If you want use p2pool, install darkcoin wallet.
Get your darkcoin address.

I think most people here know that already.
