You don't need to have the wallet open 24/7.Once the coins are not reserved for spending they are then available for work and can earn staking rewards once work is found on the network.Coin maturity and network weight determine how often they get work.

Quote
Second question, if the primary is true and computer doesn't need to be on, am I being detrimental to the network by turning it off at night?

I'm sure this is all in the white paper but it's about dinner time here and I'm sure those more knowledgeable than me will be able to answer the questions with me researching for some time.

Thanks and thanks for your continued work with XBC! Smiley

It does help a PoS network to remain even more decentralized having wallets set up to act as nodes allowing more active connections although we now have decentralized seed nodes helping with this with more hopefully coming online this year.On the PoW it is the miners who decentralize the network whereas on PoS everybody staking does this.Same thing but different protocol etc.

[/quote]

in PoW the miners do not make the network decentralized. The full nodes do. Currently, some 11,000 nodes. If you had 1 miner it would still be just as decentralized.

In PoS you need to run a full node in order to mine. In PoW you can use anyone's full node.

In conclusion PoW mining will always be more centralized because you do not need to run full nodes to mine.

In this now as I see it went from 80ish to 120ish just today alone. Devs what sort of plan are we working towards?

Nothing. This is just another pump and dump bullshit!

Looking at the history, why would you say something like that?

Because he is noob who sold his at 10 cent instead of $100.

I am saying this looking at the history and maybe you should too: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-plus/

I sure am noob but I ain't touching this with a 10 foot pole.

And the final point: if I'm so wrong, how come no one answered the original question posed by UltraMegaSick?

LOL bro, what kind of answer do you want? If you think the price is predictable you must be just a noob.
The latest "pump and dump" was in june and was due to the hire of a new DEV. But there is no way of proving that anyhow.
I find it hilarious that people come here for advice on whether to buy this coin.

Take warren buffet's advice - if you don't understand it don't buy it.

I really love when I get unsubstantiated answers like these! Cheesy

Did you read how i wrote "But there is no way of proving that anyhow."
all claim regarding price movements are unsubstantiated. That was my entire point. FFsake

Does anyone know how much was raised during the ICO? Was there a cap, and was it reached?

this is one of the questions of the Binance Listing Application Form and i was wondering for myself too out of curiosity.

Nothing was raised through an ICO.Some community members took over the coin after it was abandoned and funded development themselves.Coin holders were given free coins on a 1:1 swap basis for the newly developed coin on a whole new chain.

How were the original coins distributed? though an ICO?

@BitcoinBus
you did not mention Binance - probably the best centralized exchange today.
BitcoinBus - i don't think its fair to say "If the exchange wants to list this coin, its up to them".
Binance has a requirement to fill out their form. I compiled the list of questions they ask to make it easier for the DEV team to complete this request. You guys simply ignored me. I hope you can re-think your approach on betting on decentralized exchanges - you have no idea when that's coming.

You are betting on another DEV team to be successful in creating a decentralized exchange - i think you are not evaluating this risk appropriately here.

Here is the list of questions Binance is asking to fill out of their online form again.
They want the DEV team submit the request and provide contact info, etc.

Heck, we can answer these questions for you if you give us your word you will submit the damn form.

29. What listing fee do you propose to pay? (What value you think listing on Binance is worth to you?) Please provide an exact number in BNB. *
30. Do you have the BNB to pay for listing fees immediately?
31. Do you plan to offer coin giveaways, and/or other marketing initiative? If so, please provide details, ideally down to specific numbers.
32. You agree that Binance can publish any of the information you provided here publicly. *
33. You accept that, even after payment, Binance reserves the right to de-list your coin at any time, for any reason, solely at Binance's discretion, without refunds. *

Enough said here. Roll Eyes

Excellent point Bitcoinplusbus. You can't allow your principles to be undermined no matter how many clowns are making demands. That's why the sheeple are the way they are.You are around here a long time and know how things work in the long term.Stick to your guns here and ignore monkeys yammering about the place.Good job  Wink  Btw it looks like it's too late to vote on the poll so put me down for answer A  Wink

What principals am I undermining? What exactly was his point?
MarketMagic: They only principal i can pick out of your post is "I don't care what this Jr. Member has to say"

What demands am i making? For the DEV team to provide the their contact info to Binance exchange?
I already volunteered to put together the rest of the info they require.

What MarketMagic is saying is "Stick to your guns, do not add this coin to any other exchange".

MarketMagic visits this forum so often that he is late to the vote. what has it been 2 weeks?

I think the only way to have a free listing is to list it on a distributed exchange where our DEV team would be spending the time getting it listed. In this case, the Binance team has to spend their resources. May we have a community vote on the "listing fee" amount?
The listing fee is like a transaction fee; it's necessary to prevent spam.
Like escapecoin said, they are not saying 10K and that's it.
I think the answers to the other questions are equally important to Binance and for listing purposes.

1.What is the core value of your token/coin?
Answer: Proof of Stake coin with low initial distribution of 9% of total supply and 20% annual supply inflation to 1,000,000 coins. The coin has native Tor client increasing censorship resistance and privacy. The Proof of stake is a unilaterally fair reward system, distributing proof of stake reward equally without requiring a minimum amount for staking.

I think it would be healthy for this coin to be on at least one other Real exchange such as Bittrex
Cryptopia being the  "potpourri" of the crypto sphere IMO.

I'v always heard listing a coin on Poloniex is harder than doing so on Bittrex, I think the listing fee is 1 BTC there.

any thought on this ?  Roll Eyes

Cryptopia and coinexchange are fine. Many users are having major issues with Bittrex and they also want an upfront $10K fee to cover whatever they imagine are checks without any guarantee of a listing.Thats a non starter.HiBTC are having issues and livecoin want around $24k for a listing with bitcoin at these prices.Poloniex are our primary exchange and we never had any issues for many years now.It speaks for itself. We do continuously update exchanges with our developments but its up to them if they want to list us.Next big thing will be decentralized exchanges so thats the way we want to go.Decentralized exchanges have many advantages unlike some centralized exchanges who can freeze steal peoples coins without warning or go bust overnight

OK fair enough, Obviously DEX are going to be a big thing, as of right now, 99% of the volume is still on centralised exchanges. Are you thinking of a particular DEX for XBC ?

Let's do a hardfork and create two coins:  Bitcoin Plus Segwit & Bitcoin Plus TorCash.  Everyone satisfied.

 Tongue  just kidding, of course.
________________________

I'm not sure myself which way to go is the best. By the way, I don't even know what is 'CSV' and what it entails for the coin's future - if you could explain in a few words.

I sense that the dev team prefer the Segwit road, which could provide for a new, challenging experience and offer new opportunities in the future.
I would tend to support what the team and devs foresee as being the best for XBC.

It's true that it would be a rather unique experiment to have a POS coin with Segwit integration.
And keeping the old native tor wallet functional and compatible for those who prefer this option could be a reasonable compromise.

Yes I agree i think think this is the way to go.

Please vote on poll above. The sooner we get this out of the way the sooner we can get back to work. From a personal point of view I am voting for the first option (A) after having discussions with our developers over the last few weeks.

I can't vote either - however option A sounds better - allowing direct (atomic) swaps with btc would be beneficial.

However I am looking forward very much towards permissionless decentralized exchanges, which I believe will begin to flourish in 2018 and allow for more flexibility and freedom.

We are planning to list on NVO DEX once it's up an running. They were meant to have their wallet ready a few days ago but seem to be running behind schedule but according to their developer we would have no problem using it once they are live.

That's good news. Didn't heard about NVO DEX before.  Do you have a link to their project?

There is no product yet. here is a link to their website https://nvo.io/

This distributed exchange will run on the SAFE network so i wouldn't hold my breath.

Goin to try verification on poloniex again.

Looks like poloniex is verifying people finally.

Yes fall behind transaction fee tends to make very little sense the way it is and is far too low to become associated with a assistance to the system especially with low dealings taking place also it would make huge sense to have it act as a percentage of the whole deal but that would need to be by general opinion maybe unless of course we've no arguments which is feasible technical wise.

anyone get this?

Alright email sent to Binance. Someone else come along?

Escapecoin thanks for getting that started!

Can you please post for us the email that you sent them? The subject line and body? I would like to piggy back on what you sent them.

If we all get the same word out to them, they will see that we are a community.

Did Binance want some technical information about the coin? Let us know what you wrote to them.
Thank you!

Subject line was "Profitable listing"

Body:
---
Bitcoinplus (XBC) is a promising coin with a small supply. Only second POS coin to soon get Segwit, along with other upgrades. It's also getting nice trading volume on Poloniex. This would be a profitable coin for Binance to add.

XBC team has filled the apply form on your site.
---

If you email them you could mention that this coin is not a newcomer. That the team is dedicated long term and community supportive.

I sent them a request using their website: https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
and sent an email to: Market@binance.com

Subject:

Profitable Listing - XBC - BitcoinPlus

Body:

BitcoinPlus - XBC - is a promising coin with a small supply (currently 102,000; max 1,000,000; inflation 20% PoS).  https://www.bitcoinplus.org/
This is a sensorship resistant coin that runs on Tor. The coin has been around since 2014. Only second POS coin to soon get Segwit, along with other upgrades. Active community discussion and active coin development with dev fund. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1066201.0
The coin also has good trading volume on Poloniex. This would be a profitable coin for Binance to add.

We look forward to your review of this coin.

I think we should go the way they want it. Fill the form. Besides... I already told them it's filled because I didn't know better.

I do agree with escapecoin - we should play by their rules. They have 11 pages on the form. 3 or 4 questions per page. i just went through it.

Here is what they ask for:  the important one is #29 (listing fee)

1.What is the core value of your token/coin?
2.Why would the value increase over time?
3.Why would the value increase faster than BTC or ETH?
4.Is your token/coin a security?
Yes, It is a security - Binance will not be able to list your token/coin.
No, It is not a security - Binance requires proof of legal advice/opinion about your token/coin not being a security.
5.How many users (registered & active) do you currently have?

9. Please provide a link to your GitHub repo.
10. Who is on your team? What are their background and history? What notable projects have they done in the past? Please provide the link of Linkedln.
11. Are any of your team members not full-time?
12. Are any of your team members involved in other projects, coins, or work? If yes, please list all other projects they are currently working on.
13. Who are your advisors?
14. Please provide the link to coinmarketcap.com for your coin.
15. What is the current market capitalization of your coin?
16. Total coin/token supply:
17. Total coin/token circulation supply:
18. Current Coin/Token Price

A question to the team. When you filled the apply form... was there a link to Github?

If not, someone could send them that as well, to proove there is development going on.

There were no google forms filled. An email was sent with full details.Github link was included. Thanks for your efforts.

I read their Binance Listing Tips: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/binance-listing-tips-changpeng-zhao

This is their first paragraph:
"First, you must fill our listing request form. No form, no listing. Link at the bottom, you should finish reading this article first. We want to see a core team member filling the form.  We like to have a direct communication channel with core teams. Community filled forms get lower priority."

BitcoinPlusBus we need you guys.

I will ask our main developer if he will agree to use a google form but I can't force anyone to do something they don't wish to.It seems they want a wallet developer on hand if there are issues with the wallet on their site but they should realise that an email from the official account is a more secure option because anyone can use a google form masquerading as a developer.

TBH I think once we have segwit activated if all goes to plan along with all the relevant refactors and BIPs it will put us in a much stronger position.

Sounds good - you guys know better what the right path is. We are trying to do what we can from the "sidelines" so to speak. Go XBC TEAM!  Smiley

I'll send out that email to them - does anyone know their direct email? or should i use the request form? this one: https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
