Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH

My experience on Kraken yesterday: I knew the btc price would eventually crash, I was waiting for it. Once the fall begun, I went exchanging my btc for eth which is more stable.
I had to frenetically hit place order for 10 minutes to get through. I ended up with a double order, whereas the price was already very low... I see it's rising again, so I go to change my Eth for Btc again, same thing happening: 5 minutes to go through the order. Result: I sold low, and bought high. 500 Euros of loss in total (including the fees of transaction), which should have been a profit of 1000 Euros if worked as intended.

This is a joke.

With the money they make I don't understand how can their servers be soooo bad ? This doesn't make sense.

Worried about btc future
by
zaphyr
on 17/10/2017, 00:41:26 UTC
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.

Re: ViaBTC scammed me for 9 BCH
by

on 07/08/2017, 18:18:26 UTC
So yesterday, just after the first block was mined, I wanted to transfer my BCH to ViaBTC to be able to trade them.
By reflex, I used a BTC address that was proposed, and realised my mistake only after sending the money. Here is the transaction : https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/transaction/dc5a2cd18cdcf0116648cd1fef5dfff235e1a05a2e216aa3f4eca02e2821380a
I was not worried too much because I realised it would be easy to get them back, support would just need to manually connect (using its private key) to the BTC wallet on a BCH node, and get my coins back. Easy task.
I sent a message to the support, and after 30hours, still no answer neither from their twitter account. Going back on the website, I noticed in disgust that they added a new message on the BTC deposit page "This address is for BTC deposit. Non-BTC deposits are not allowed for redemption."
So I understand that firstly I will never get my coins back, and sencondly, that I'm not the only one that made this mistake.
I know this is my mistake in the first place, but it is really easy for them to verify and redeem the coins to the wallet, they just won't do it because it's our mistake, and free money for them. So I still call it a scam.
Any advice ? Am I really screwed ?
Any similar experiences with ViaBTC ?
I did the same =/

If you have any news, tell me... I'm sending messages every day.

http://blockdozer.com/insight/address/1Ax2fTffVnNeDuvsWAqNNGqqpAHHuoSWZT

Good luck for us

Sorry to hear.

Apparently some people got answers from ViaBTC on social media, telling them to contact support. But as far as I know, nobody got any answer from support for now.

My coins have been moved though, so that means they are aware of it, and they used them for whatever reason...

I'm kind of losing hope to be honest...

No,

they aren't a scam.

I sold my BCH for BTC, but had to wait 20 confirmations (just in case of 51% attack)

i was able to withdraw my BTC trade after the 25th block on the new BCH Chain.

just be patient.

ViaBTC good to go.

Did you read my post at least ?
I will not get my coins back. Not because they can't get them back, but because they will keep them using the fact that I made a mistake (like many others did).

You could watch the blockchain to see if they pull it out...
Sad to hear its gone. Also open a ticket maybe...
Support doesn't answer any of my mail, on twitter either.
I just assume they scammed me (us).
It's really easy to find the coins back, they just won't do it because it's our mistake, and free money for them. I still call it a scam.

I think i may know what could have happened here, coz the same thing may have happened to me, can you post the address that you sent the BCH to? BTW which wallet did you transfer FROM?

Edit: Sorry, got it from the tx you posted above. Do you have the priv key for this wallet: 13PPyKUqP94gPvWQmX6E2q25RKnNXuhkyf

Obviously I don't... This is the address I sent my BCC to, it is from ViaBTC. And they won't redeem my coins.
I'm screwed ! They fucking scammed me, and many others...

I think ViaBTC will not redeem my BCH...
They just put a red message on the BTC deposit page : "This address is for BTC deposit. Non-BTC deposits are not allowed for redemption."
I think a lot of people did the same mistake, and they will no refund anybody, free money for them... Shit !
Should I open a new topic for this matter ?

I used Electron Cash 2.9 to make a BCC deposit on ViaBTC.
I took all precautions, I withdrew all my BTC to another wallet, then used a virtual machine to use Electron Cash client.
I made the transfer to the address ViaBTC gave me: transaction is here: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/transaction/dc5a2cd18cdcf0116648cd1fef5dfff235e1a05a2e216aa3f4eca02e2821380a (4 confirmations as I write)
But yet I have no trace of the BCC on my ViaBTC account.
Any ideas ? Did it happen to someone here ?
I sent a message to the support, but half of the form was in chinese... So no idea if its gonna work.

hey,

I have tried to move my coins over from a blockchain.info wallet to my electron cash wallet by importing the priv key after moving all my bitcoin to another wallet address. After i import the wallet, what else do i have to do to see my BCC? I don't see anything on here! Under history i see 2 deposit and 2 withdrawal transactions but the amounts clearly don't match up. What am i doing wrong? Can you please help me understand?

Can we not go off topic please ?
If you need help you can open a topic too.
You need to select the server manually for a BCC node in order to see your BCC.

I think I might have made a mistake and sent my BCH to a bitcoin address instead of a BCH address.
How can this affect my BCH ? I got 6 verifications now: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/transaction/dc5a2cd18cdcf0116648cd1fef5dfff235e1a05a2e216aa3f4eca02e2821380a

This has same problem with you using ElectronCash
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2059091.0
Some member here said that transaction of BitcoinCash can take many hours maybe few days.
In stead of waiting viaBTC fulfill verify your transaction, its better stay away using ElectronCash for a while.

No this is completely different.
This guy didn't change server, Electron Cash has "peer list poisoning" bug, if you don't change server manually you're still on the old btc blockchain and you won't see your BCH.
I think Electron Cash is legit.
It's true blocks are being mined at a very slow pace, I'll wait and update tomorrow.

Of course. I had btc as you may see if you read my initial post. I just moved them to another wallet to be safe.
I had BCH, and made a transfer with it, I just don't know where they ended up.
