For me the best altcoin for the moment is SONM.
Now that all the altcoins are down its the best moment to buy. The price is really low compared to 1 month ago.

Probably you have been subject for "fishing" sites.
Create a new MEW account and transfer the amount to the new account.
Scan your pc if you have malware.
and the most important from now on be careful on the sites that you give your information, because with MEW you are the only person that owns the wallet codes. Im very sorry for your loss.

Is very simple :
Pump= Significant Increase of price
Dump= Significant Decrease of price
 
Pump and Dump coin means : a coin that has often a lot of price fluctuations (increases and decreases)

The less risky decision is to keep the 1 ETH that you own.
More risky is to pick a small altcoin or a new ICO that is promising. This kind of investment is more risky but can generate you a lot.

On crypto world its nothing 100% safe. You dont have to be afraid about not being 100% safe because nothing in this world are 100% safe. We can be 100% sure only for taxes and death Anyway in my opinion the most safe coins that also have a good potential to double or tripple your investment in 2018 are :

2.Ethereum

Some other coins that you may benefit but i consider them less safe than the first 2 are :

The last one is based on my intuit : Digibyte (Some of you maybe will laugh or will criticize me telling me that they have near 10billion supply and max supply 21 billions) i picked this coin because the coin itself its very well organized, i have experienced always the fastest transactions (almost instantly the coins are transferred) and also the transaction fee is very very low ( almost zero $ ) In the future the interest on this coin will raise, people in the end will ask more fast transaction and less fees.

You think Ripple could reach 10$ ? Are you sure ?  that means a total market cap of more than 380 Billions , ~40-45% more than Bitcoin market cap.

I gave up with the syncing , because was not syncing at all. and i used coinomi wallet. I know that is better to hold the coins in the official core but was not syncing at all. Coinomi for me worked perfectly.

IOTA is a coin with serious team and project behind. The last deals with Microsoft, Cisco, Samsung, Volkswagen etc. prove that.
If you are talking for short term trading i would prefer forex and not coins. Some altcoins are very good investments for future.
Im into investments and not "short-term" games buying and selling after a couple of cents.

Altcoins that dont have any serious team behind them or those that are not based in a serious project will die. But there are also altcoins that will last and will have a bright future. Take a look at IOTA 

Probably Ether and tokens based on erc2 are going down because of transactions delays caused by cryptokitties.
Another assumption is that : Now we have Bitcoin price near 17k and is day by day is rising more and more, some of altoins holders have decided to leave altcoins and going only to bitcoin. These are just assumptions
