I agree. With a small white "C" inside the large "A" of DASH I don't see "CASH" at all. Maybe if the "A" were inside the "C" instead. I think it's fine just being able to play with the "D" at the front.

Like jokes, if you have to explain them, well, err.....maybe it ain't so obvious or funny
It would be a simple animation when done, no explanation needed. I'm just incapable to create it, so that's not the "joke", only the blueprint of it.

The first question you need to ask yourself is does this message translate on different background colour schemes?
When Dash goes mainstream, it will need to be used by all sorts of businesses and the branding will have to fit around all sorts of scenarios. It probably would work, but, secondly, is an animation always going to be used?
