Thing is: No one on 2.3.1 has any idea what's going on unless by Chance they visit the Website.
There is a lot of 2.3.1 out there and this not going to turn out good...

Why no message like other coins have?

I think only a few coins like litecoin etc say version out of date. In crypto most people assume they follow the coin homepages. This could be done better but im not sure its a responsibility of the dev. Since communities are small most talk to their fellow users.

Join the netcoin forum and recommend it as a change for future wallets to this problem?

my wallet now has 29 connections. To the person with 4 before do you only have addnodes in your config and not connect=? connect makes it connect only to those.
