re. the ETH or BTC........well, that all depends but honestly BTC until ETH gets their shit sorted (which will be never) so BTC wins.

some people are always afraid to get into new things such as ETH. they are comfortable with BTC even when its platform is a dead end. as compare to ETH where theres all possibilities to going mass adoption, platform for programming where the future is.

Ethereum is doing fine. Hardfork fixes went trough and it's the most developed Blockchain with the best developers behind it. I don't think we need a backup plan!!...or maybe i see someone here that tries to drive the price down to buy more cheap ICN Wink

I think that you guys need to stop making a competition between BTC and Eth. I don't see why both chains can't co-exist and address different use-cases. Each chain will have its own set of apps and services that will better fit that chain. Not every service needs relative expensive ultimate immutability backed up by energy platform, like the Bitcoin blockchain offers. Some services may want to trade that for agile and flexible platform.
It is still way to early to tell. Bitcoin just starts to develop top/side layers, and Ethereum is still in its unstable beta stage.

You know that the Internet is not TCP/IP only, right? We have UDP, TCP-Streaming and other protocols as well.

I never said Bitcoin is old or obsolete. I agree it's the "safer" chain. More like the Gold Storage of The Crypto World.
I just don't think it's a good "backup plan" to talk about moving ICN from Ethereum to Lisk or some other relatively small and new Blockchain
