What would be nice is if Gavin could reveal the total amount of bitcoins that they distributed to faucet users back then. It should show the Blockchain evidence, so that we can check how many of those coins have been used over the years and how many are still unused in cold storage. ^smile^

If we look on blockchain at that address: https://blockchain.info/address/15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC we see a total of 19,750BTC. That is a current valuation of $47,830,550.50 and the current balance is $2.81. Without knowing what percentage of coins (if any) Gavin kept, I think we could assume that over 19k Bitcoins were distributed to users. Of course, some people abused it and I do remember seeing threads from Gavin with different ways to prevent people from double dipping into the faucet.
