In normal circumstances I am against torture. But against rapists and pedophiles, torture is a viable option. But here the problem is that if the perpetrator is tortured, the victim is not gaining anything. So I have a better proposition. Very good suggestion from you friend, But I think it's necessary that the victim undergo a counceling regarding that matter. Because of my own experience I have know victims who don't want to accept anything from suspect. They say they just remember bitter things when they get things from suspect because they remember them.

Being a female, I can understand that. In such cases, the funds must be deposited in some bank account and the victim can use it anytime in the future for educational expenses or medical emergencies. May be after 10-15 years, the victim may be able to move on and she may be ready to accept the money.
