Pure FUD they don't really ban bitcoin or cryptocurrency nor issued a statement about banning cryptocurrency in India at all in fact the minister of finance in India said this on his statement:

It means they will take all measures to stop the use of cryptocurrencies to finance illegal activities such as, drugs, money laundering, prostitution and terrorism and in the end of the statement the minister of finance said theat they encourage blockchain technology as a new way of traditional payment system.
