I assumed they meant in general, but regarding crypto, you're spot on. So many coins that claim to be "the next big thing" are just a bunch of buzzwords and marketing gimmickry that don't add up to much in practice. I can see why people want to jump on whatever bandwagon has the most shiny baubles on it, but most of them simply aren't going anywhere.
