Devdutt Padikkal is still a young player. It is better not to give him a chance in the national team now. He is talented enough. We saw a lot of cricketers, after great performances in the IPL, they were given a chance in the national team. But they were not able to play well in the national team.

LOL.. then why this rule is not applicable to players such as Shaw and Gill? Devdutt is performing really well in the domestic cricket for quite sometime now. He deserves a slot in the national team. On the other hand, Shaw and Gill have wasted whatever opportunity given to them. Another player who deserve a chance right now is Ishan Kishan. He was given just one or two chances and then he was dropped. The selection policy for the national team needs to be consistent.

This is current talent pool of Indian cricket. Its good to have such kind headache but it poses challenges too like how to select your best XI. Ofc their would be some bias and some players might get neglect in the process, might look unfair to us but that's how things work in the real world, nothing is fair.
