Bad is, that the insurance will not pay for a new one, just for the "actual price at the time".

In my neck of the woods, if your vehicle is less than 4 years old insurance will give you full replacement value (based on $ amount of damage) or original parts only if small damage.

Well assuming no hidden injury. I will end up with s 2022 kia k5 vs a 2020 kia optima

I figure I will spend about 4-6 grand but the car will be 'new' vs 14 months old and have a new warranty.

the optima became the k5 nice car. maybe color blue this time.

I can deal with a 4-6 k hit a lot better than a couple of broken legs.

True dat. Kia's gotten a great rep the last couple of years ...

I have to say it was pretty cool watching the air bags fire up.

The way I was hi I simply got to go along for the ride so to speak.
