No guys, you got this wrong if I understand it correctly. Abramovich did NOT say that the
proceeds will be forwarded to the victims of the war, but any
profits from the sale that he might make. In essence, it is quite up to him when it comes to accounting and calculating his investment + expenditures and some potential profit from the sale. He could walk away with zero losses despite being sanctioned. If the full proceeds were to be forwarded to victims, I believe it would be ok. But if it's only the profits, it is just cheap trick to escape sanctions. The oligarchs who benefitted from Putin all their lives should also now pay the bill. You know, you can still have some calm sleep if you like Abramovich: he won't end up broke even without Chelsea

Well, if so, that completely changes things.
Considering that Abramovich made a huge investment in Chelsea (from the money he stole in Putin's Russia), he would have recovered huge funds if they were not completely frozen. It seems that this time such "tricks" will not help him (and I hope other bandits from Putin's gang) and they will at least lose part of their capital.
Not it is official what I said. He is allowed to sell the club but he is not allowed to profit from the sale in anyway. Now I wonder how they will ensure that is going to happen. These guys know so many tricks, saved so many taxes elsewhere probably. I am surprised that he is allowed to sell at all. It is probably to save the football club I guess? I haven't understood it yet in its entirety. If someone knows more , please enlighten me. Does that mean he can take any proceeds from sales as long as there is no profits? Wouldn't that still be against the sanctions?
Anyway, Bayern has to step up their game significantly. The game against Salzburg wasn't really what it looked like. We can see that in the Bundesliga over and over again. The next round might be a real heavy weight in the CL.
