L1 blockchains have the most potential and are safer bets than most tokens built on top of these L1's. There is a network effect where each token deployed on a network increases the value of the underlying network. I'm most bullish on the following L1's: NEAR, ICP, and Fantom. Agree, the safest investments currently are still Bitcoin and Ether, but if we want to find other potential altcoins to diversify our portfolio Layer1 is the best choice. Can't say it's really secure as it all still depends on bitcoin but clearly Layer1 projects are being considered as the backbone for future scaling projects.

Layer1 plays an integral role in today's crypto world. It is like land if you want to build a house or business, you must first have land to build other business infrastructure.
