I don't think he should give up. However, if someone posts something for 8 months and doesn't get any results, it would be just stupid to continue, unless it's for revenge.
Revenge for blocking seems to me the most probable here, because if it was about clarifying the case, he would have found another way of communication a long time ago.

The poor man probably needed that money and I am afraid he may be from a country where that amount of money is very difficult to earn.
If he wanted revenge he would not be here begging for mercy, in my opinion. Still nothing he realistically do.

I don't blame him for not being able to move on, though.  Sad
